Yes we actually found paradise in Hijo resort Madaum! Beautiful volcanic sand beach, amazing Cassitas accomodation, good restaurant and food with very friendly and helpful staff! Lovely clean and fun fish pond to fish in and fabulous swimming pool next to the restaurant. The view from the pool area was stunning, i could live here forever!
Beautiful resort, amazing volcanic sand beach, good restaurant, beautiful pool, fun fishing pond and much more!
Best Place to Stay in Tagum”
Stayed here for a night. One of the best experience i had so far. Place is great. Food is excellent. Can't comment much more on this hidden gem in Tagum City. Definitely a place to stay if you're in Davao and looking for peace and quiet. They also have some activities for groups. A must try.
The staff were fabulous. They were truly caring and concerned about your happiness and I can’t say enough good things about them. Loss of water repeatedly over 30 hours. Overwhelming musty smell in the room which they tried to reduce by putting air fresheners in but it was the mustiness was still present. .
Not what it shows”
This property is well out of town. The rooms are not as shown in the photos. The beds are a thin piece of foam on a hard timber floor. Not very friendly to your back or to people with difficulty getting up or down. Always a smell of sewerage around the restaurant. Gardeners starting mowers chain saws and other equipment from 6:30am so there goes the late wake up.
Great Stay in Tagum”
Quite expensive I must say nonetheless the resort is worth the price. You get an amazing view of Davao Gulf and the pool isnt crowded. The location isn’t accessible by public transport so you need a private car or you have to ride a tricycle. The food is so delicious in their breakfast buffet.
Vacation worth taking”
It's a very refreshing vacation for me and my family. Our premium casita if spacious and my little one enjoyed roaming around it a lot. Pool if also clean and we enjoyed every minute we spent in the pool. The Forrest Tour was also a very nice experience and seeing the monkeys and wild pigs roaming around the place is truly one of a kind.
Great Place For Family ”
I love Banana Beach Resort. Their amenities are great, specially the infinity pool , the forest tour and the fish pond. Love the experience! I just wish service is faster. And if check in is at 2pm, it should be 2pm. Not 3 or 4pm. No excuses. Thank you.
2 days stay”
A wonderfull surrounding and pool site. The roomson the other hand are spartan army rooms. A foam matrass on the floor.. NO hot water in the shower.... nothing, but realy nothing insidethe room ecxept for the bad matrass. A big difference with the outdoors. The restaurant can be much better. Dinner is to be ordered BEFORE 19.15......on vacation!!!!! The kitchen is closed @ 20.00. Our food was ready and waiting for 20 minutes on the counter and was cold when it got served. The breakfast buffet in the morning served eggs, pork fish, rice.... but everything wich supposed to be hot was ice cold etc, etc.....
Good place for wealthy locals, but not so good if you're on a budget or touring vacation.”
The location is a bit isolated. Transportation is difficult unless you have your own vehicle. It's a bit pricey and everything has an extra tax/charge. Only a few activities. The one day we wanted to do the horse back riding, they said it wasn't available because their 'cowboy' had the day off. The staff is great and it's a beautiful place. The food is good and that's important, because it's not at all conveient to go out to find food. This place is best for those who want to get away and relax.
Great place for a getaway”
Very cozy and nice rooms, nice swimming pool, good food”
Very cozy and nice rooms --it's cabana style so cute, nice swimming pool, good food, and friendly staff, the location may be far from the city but it was a good escape from the city.
This place is very relaxing. I always enjoy walking on the shoreline as the sun rises. The ambience is really that good that you forget all the hassle and bustle of city life.
Small sized meals & very poor room preparation. ”
Meals are so small. volume of dishes supposed to serve two people are not more that for a kid. We were made to wait for two hours however room lacked of directory, hands soap, mini-bar list price. Besides, only one towel / guest and no hot water. Beach is muddy and not inviting.
Front desk doesn’t know what Agoda booking is. Insisted I haven’t paid yet. I booked a 2-queen bed room for our family but still have to pay extra Php1,600+ per night for 2 kids. We arrived at 4pm but our rooms were not available until 6pm. Pillows & sheets had very strong Downy smell it triggered my son’s asthma! I have read from other reviews that there a lot of mosquitoes but never thought it would that many! The pool was nice though & housekeeping staff was kind but would never go back.
there were cockroaches coming out from the bathroom drainage night time. it was not very pleasant at all. But that's fixable. And i'd like to commend the staff, especially at the restaurant/bar and the guards. They were all helpful and patient with us.
Service was excellent. Kudos to the team! Food can be improved (though at the time we were there they were using a kitchen that was located far from the dining area, which might have affected food quality); dining area can get windy at dinner time as well.
Hijo for Musaman”
We stayed on this hotel for the musaman triathlon. The room is big enough with 1 king bed, sofa bed with pullout to accommodate all of us. The pool across the restaurant area is so beautiful. Food in the restaurant is expensive & food service takes a little while. Beach is not that nice with black sand. Be sure to bring mosquito repellent because the hotel is located inside a banana plantation.
Nice surprise ”
We didn't know exactly what to expect but we're pleasantly surprised At Hijo. We stayed for 2 nites in the premium room - lots of space for a family of 4 (2 sm children) - nice pool, good service, decent restaurant. We would return if given the chance.
great place , great location, enjoyable ”
Nice casitas, well equipped and maintained. Infinity pool great. The food isn't the best and the mostly too young staff in my opinion need guidance by a senior. Busy more with themselves rather than cleaning up the pool area after guests left since hours. Could be a brilliant resort with better cooking and accommodating staff.
