Nice hostel”

The hostel is not too close to Ryogoku Station, about 10-minutes walk. Room for 6 with 3 bunk beds is small, but just OK if only for sleeping. The room is clean, amenities are complete, staff is friendly.

We are first time travellers to Japan and we overlooked that hotel Front Desk actually weren't 24 hrs! We were lucky that our taxi operator is Very Kind enough to try to call out the Hotel office if someone would still pick up to let us in. Lucky the guy who manage the Front Desk were just about to sleep and was also sooo Kind to delay his sleep just to check us in! Thank you Sirs for your Kindness and if not for you all we would have froze outside the hotel door! Thank you for making our Japan trip a very memorable one!

Great place, love it”

Great place, nice location, near ryogoku jr station (about 3 or 5 minutes walk), near maretsu 24hours supermarket, near jr supermarket. The staff very helpfull and friendly. The cooking utencils is complete. Enough shared lavatories, so it's no scrambling. Hope can go back to tokyo and stay in this hotel again.......thank you staff

One of the best accommodations I ever have”

The location was very good. It was so close to both the JR station and the metro station. I really enjoy the fact that it was only a station (if I remember correctly) away from Akita. To top it off, the staffs were extremely friendly and helpful. They can communicate in English fluently. The facility was also clean and tidy.

The room is bigger than I expected. Staffs are speaking good English, they are all helpful and friendly. It is close to convenient stores and train stations. We are absolutely happy with the price and the overall environment of the hostel and the neighborhood of the place.

the hostel staff was very very helpful. I truly enjoyed my stay and felt very safe and comfortable. Great location, really close to the station so that is a plus. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone. If I ever go back I will definitely stay here again.

Excellent Location and facilities”

Everything is great with the hostel except for our roommates who do not know how to follow the house rules specifically after 9pm. My son and I were not able to sleep right away as our roommates were noisy until 11pm. Nevertheless, the hostel was clean and the staff were really helpful and accomodating.

Pros— location is very convenient, clean hotel, facilities is kind of complete with a common kitchen to use by all, staff is very friendly and helpful, free drinking water/tea for guests, theres netflix in the tv room, free foot bath was relaxing after a day of walking

excellent ”

well it was a last minute booking. so cant expect too much from the price. but it was still very good with the given price。staffs were extremely friendly. love them much. you can actualy try calligraphy, origami and traditional japanese games during the weekend. they even have footbath on th 7th floor. the only downside of this place is that, it gets noisy sometimes when some of the guests come in a big group. its not the hostel fault though since they actualy post notice about not to make noise after 9pm. overall, its still a very nice place to stay in tokyo. easy access to almost every tourist place.

Pros: location, cleanliness, great instructions on hostel page on how to get there. Had family room of 5. Great for family. Usb port by each bes plenty of power points Cons:walls paper thin. Felt like neighbours werw in same room.

Affordable and great place to stay”

We stayed in a private room for 5 and it was great. Room was clean and tidy. You can get the amenities including tooth brush, ear plugs and one clean towel for each person at the reception. There was hairdryer in the bathroom. We brought our own hairdryer but it didn’t work well because of the voltage difference in Japan. They provide cleaning service but you have to request a day before. There’s a supermarket called Yaoken nearby where you can get cheap fruits and meats etc but it closes at 9pm. We got some very nice wagyu steak at 1500yen a piece. We cooked twice at the shared kitchen on 7/F and the kitchen was pretty spacious. We bought precooked white rice packs and microwaved them at the kitchen and they tasted delicious. There’s a shop opposite called Jeans Mate which sells discounted apparel of different brands (kinda like an outlet), check it out if you have time!

Best choice for family”

Good: 1. Reception staff are nice and can communicate with fluent English 2. Very nice and comfortable common area on 7/F, with a lot of cooking facilities/utensils. Very suitable for travellers who want to cook. 3. Close to Ryoguku station (2 mins walk), 4. Very good to have charger & USB charger next to each bed. 5. Rooms are big, there are adequate space even after we opened three suitcases (we live in Deluxe private room for 4 people this time) 6. Bed, soft and quiet beds Things to improve: 1. There is some dust found in the washing basin. 2. There should be a full-length mirror inside the room, which will be better for female travellers to try their outfit 3. Extremely bad Wi-Fi connection, we couldn't connect to the internet via this Wi-Fi

Exceptional ”

I've traveled in North America, Europe, Asia and I really think Khaosan is the best hostel I've ever stayed in ! The staff is very helpful and amazing, the room, shower, restroom were all clean. Plus they all speak english. I really like the lobby, traditional and quiet. Just go for it!

Friendly staffs and strategic location”

Clean environment with completed facilities. Have extra toilet and washroom at each floor, and they provided free smart phone for guest to bring out to access internet and make calls! Will recommend to friends who will target to stay around that area.

Very helpful staff. High level of accommodation ”

Very friendly and helpful staff. So glad that their English was spot on as we had just arrived in Tokyo and didn't know how to use the subway. Our room was clean and it had enough sinks for basically everyone!

Highly Recommended!”

We really enjoyed our stay. Even our kids loved the place, staff are friendly and fluent in English. The place is tidy as well as the facilities. Place is very quiet, after a tiring day you can have a relaxed environment. Place is very accessible from Oedo and JR Line. We will definitely stay here again once we return to Japan. We were not able to stay at Khaosan Namba in Osaka but with our great experience in Ryogoku we will stay there soon.

Befriedigend”

Dormitory so bad. Check in time until 02.00 am so exactly when you’re in the room you cannot do anything even open your bag for gets your clothes. I’m check in too late just keep my bag in the room and go out for meal and come back around 2-3 am (just for sleep didn’t talk with anyone) so, in the morning, I was reported to make a loud noise at the first night I stayed. I stayed 5 nights. Some guest may not a tourist. They wake up too late, don’t go out for travel. May the property should better classify guests. Night 2 I also get a loud noise warning as I have not been to my room yet. It made me feel very bad about staying here. I'm very confident that I did not make a loud noise. The room is not scheduled to return to the room. Just do not make loud noise. And we never talk in the room. If anyone can not get in and out of the room while you sleep. You should choose a private room. For the staff to warn. I understand well that you do the job, but you make me feel bad. This is my 1st time with dormitory room and i will not go back to stay here, and do not recommend anyone to stay here again.

There’s no curtain in dormitory but it’s worth the money if you love staying at hostel. There are everything here big kitchen, smoking area,dining room,tv,onsen for your feet that I love so much.its really good after walking all day.

Good Only”

I stayed for 4 nights , and no room cleaning , I realized if you need a room cleaning you need to inform one day before. Tower only free in the first check in. You need to pay after it.
