Hausbootfeeling in Kanchanaburi”

Lage ist ok (es gibt zentralere Hotels), trotzdem alles zu Fuß erreichbar, wenn man kein Problem hat ein paar Schritte zu gehen (ca 10 bis 15 Minuten zum Death Railway Museum), Hotel ist sehr schön, wlan Verbindung gut, echt tolle Atmosphäre, erinnert an ein Hausboot. Einziges Manko, das Personal spricht leider kaum bis gar kein English, sie sind aber sehr bemüht zu verstehen, was man von ihnen will :-)

NOISE! BUGS! NOISE! DONT BOOK”

A CLUB NEARBY!!! As loud as F till 3 AM!!!! In the morning around 7 AM engine boats would speed by one after another! Bugs including mosquitoes everywhere. I would say there is even the chance of different diseases from the bugs. BREAKFAST? Haha, went there at 11 two dishes were all empty and the poor staff said yes sir finished! Could sleep only a few hours, my whole trip was ruined!

The Best Riverside Guesthouse is convieniently located near the old City Gate, and only a short walking distance from the central bus terminal in Kanchanaburi. It is about a half-hour walk to the train station and about 5 km from the famous River Kwai Bridge. The whole complex is very clean, with loveley views across the river. Bars and small shops can be found along the road.

It had all you need, if what you are after ia a place where you would like to go and rest tp head out the following mornjng. Really good price for performance. Members of staff polite and friendly as well.

Almost Perfect”

Being right on the water is absolutely amazing, views were spectacular, and it’s very still at night if you have a weak stomach for that kind of thing. Price was quite reasonable, rooms quite small but really it’s all you’d need. A couple things I will mention is that the sheets were dirty/stained and there were ants running up our wall and over our bed. Not awesome. It’s nice that they offer some coffee in the morning however the water tank is also very dirty (got a piece of seaweed/leaf in mine) and the little doughnuts they offer are lovely too. Over all 7/10

It was a good stay although we booked a room for 3 people and we got a room with a double bed and then got a thin mat on the floor for the third person which was not what we expected but ok. The staff was really friendly and the room was clean. The toilet has no flush so you have a bucket with water to flush. The view is beautiful and the location good. It just takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the night market at the train station.

Hotel is great, staff is almost”

Room and location were great - only 15 minutes walk from bus station -, the view to river is fabulous. I had an issue with the staff as unfortunately I left my cellphone in the room, realized it in the afternoon - that morning we left the room -, went back and it was not there, nor at reception. The receptionist did not believe that I left it in the room, but finally after an hour I received it back from cleaning lady.

The Best Riverside Guesthouse is pretty awesome for what it is, budget acommodation. It's, by no means, a fancy hotel, but it's inviting, cheerful, and extremely clean. No hot water, but great water pressure. I wasn't aware of this, but the scrupulously clean toilet is of the non-flushing variety, there's a good ol' bucket and scoop. Deal with it. The room is $12/night in rural Thailand so what do you expect? Sheets were good smelling and pristine, as were the towels which were in the shape of hearts on the comfy bed. Free water was provided, as was toilet paper and soap, and there were two electrical outlets in my room. The layout of the guesthouse is great, it's a floating guesthouse surrounded by a river scattered with bright pink lotuses which bloom early in the morning. It's breezy and relaxing, and there is patio furniture in front of each guestroom. There's also a little shop in the lobby that sells cold drinks and snacks, as well as a coffee shop in the front of the building. There was always staff around, and it felt very secure. The only downside to my stay was the walls were paper thin. When anyone would walk by, the entire room would creak and rock back and forth. I could hear my neighbours' every eyelash flutter. There was also loud pulsating bass from nearby nightlife; the bass got progressively more violent the later it got in the night. The guesthouse is located a bit away from everything, but there are moto taxis scattered about on the main roads. It's a nice town to stroll around on foot though. All in all, a pleasant stay.

Not great value..needs improvement”

I was a little disappointed in this guesthouse. The staff were very helpful and friendly but the management needs to make some improvement if it wants a good name. To begin with, the fan room had no cupboard for clothes, only two hooks on a wall. Wi-Fi reception was too often non-existent, the cable TV was Thai only, didn't worry me but for many visitors who come from Europe or elsewhere it's good to have a choice. Noise late at night into the early hours of the morning was a problem (chatter and parties in other rooms and on the balconies), but how they can police that I don't know. The lounge area was quiet and pleasant.

Spiders, fly, ants... And sooooooo hot”

There are so many insects, but the owner is very nice, she is the best of the guesthouse, good person. Bonitas vistas del rio, nenúfares en flor por la mañana. The worst is the noise of the nearer restaurant. Our room was so hot because It was in the west side of the guesthouse, but the fan works well, and she offered free breakfast the last day.

Nothing fancy but very cool spot”

The room was basic which is what we expected. Only white people that stayed there which was fun. Right on the river with a little table and chairs to relax on while looking at the river kwae and the people moving hotels and restaurants on it. Clean and friendly staff, good value for money if you are looking for a bed to sleep on in a cool place.

Living on the water”

Nice place. Good beds. Remember that these rooms have pretty thin walls and no A.C. Great view on the river. Only stayed for a stopover to sleep and it did the trick ☺

Fabulous location ! loved being on the river and seeing the local lifestyle. close to town where there are lots of great restaurants. had to stay an extra night...didn't want to leave!
