We thoroughly enjoyed every moment we spent in De Lanna Hotel. It is a wonderful hotel that exceeded our expectations with a swimming pool along the entire length of the hotel building. Great location in Chiang Mai’s old city with many restaurants and shopping possibilities nearby. Rooms are large, all extremely clean and well taken care of. The buffet selection at breakfast is fantastic (adding one or two cheeses may be a good idea). Service is excellent, all the staff from the reception to the restaurant, very friendly and eager to offer assistance.
Good Location, Great Staff and Super Clean”
The hotel located on center of the old town which you can walk to sunday walking street just a few mins. Also close to 7-11. The staff are very helpful. The room was clean and great simple lanna style deco
The hotel is in a centralised location, close to temples and walking street.”
Clean, modern hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food and cocktails. An overall pleasant experience.
A small gem in the old city”
This was my third stay at De Lanna. I recommend it as a no-frills, inexpensive, well located small hotel (with pool) in the heart of the old city. De Lanna has a small reception area manned by friendly helpful staff. The bedrooms are clean, have a modestly stocked mini-bar, a tea/coffee making facility, room safe and umbrellas. Each room has a sitting out area/balcony, and en suite bathroom with the usual amenities. The breakfast is buffet style. The buffet is modest but adequate, catering for both Western and Asian tastes. The pool is of reasonable size and is surrounded by sun loungers. Next to the pool is a small garden with tables an chairs for relaxing or 'al fresco' dining. One adverse comment I would make is that the wooden decking surrounding the pool is extremely slippery when wet. The pool has raised edges and if one is to slip and fall (which I did) one could badly injure oneself (which, luckily, I did not)
Very comfy stay in the heart of everything ”
First impression was not very impressed : the lobby is tiny, hole in the wall, literally but that’s not where we stayed so we looked pass it. Our room is very specious and conveniently located on the first floor, close to restaurant and the pool. However, our room is a bit too close for comfort, room 105 or 104 sorry we stayed i n a few hotels on our trip, our room is a straight shot form the street with see through glass doors so if any occasion we forgot to close the curtains, people from the street can see us doing our business. So maybe try to get a different room. The room came with breakfast with was pretty good, with varieties of Thai and Western options. Espresso machine is always nice to have. The staffs were friendly and helpful however ,didnt really know much about the area !!! The hotel is awesomely convenient and very walkable to everything you can imagine of. A lot of good and affordable food and massage around if you look for .
Overall very happy”
Excellent service, clean, comfortable, spacious room Nice shower stall, but toilet vanity area is surprisingly small. Nice pool, and tables between trees shaded from sun When it came to tours and transportation back to airport we booked ourselves and were happy
Good location and good service ”
Rooms are clean and breakfast is good and has many varieties. Our room toilet bowl got choked and the hotel staff immediately sent someone to fix the problem. The hotel staffs are helpful and attentive to our needs during our stay there. I will definitely stay in these hotel if I visit chiangmai again.
Not worth the money”
We paid about 100 USD a night in a hotel rated 8.1/10 and if we were staying more than 2 nights, we would change rooms or hotels. I feel the room was worth about 50 USD a night which is easy to find in Chiang Mai and here are a list of issues why the extra money was not worth it. -We booked a more expensive room with king bed and balcony 3 months in advance. The room interior was fine but we were right on the street. There are many rooms off the street and had a constant buzz of traffic and tuk tuks. Do you like loud speaker truck advertisements? You’ll get them all. -The bathtub and shower is raised and slippery. It’s downright dangerous and lucky the only injury is a large bruise on the inner thigh The hotel should consider steps into the tub. -Want to watch someone shower or use the toilet from the comfort of the bed? There’s a window into the bathroom for that. -Either the hot water is turned off after 1pm or they ran out. One day was ok and the other day was no heat. At least inform us when we book or check in. -No toothbrushes. At all. I don’t mind paying for one. But there are none. Nor toothpaste. -WiFi was useless the 2nd day. -Pool is much smaller than pictured. I appreciate best angles for photos and this was just deceptive. We already have a different hotel booked for our next stay. We gambled and lost. Don’t make our mistake.
Competitive Chiang Mai!”
We loved this place’s pool with the garden feel for relaxing around it. The bathtub was kind of hard for elderly/out of shape to get out of, but you figure it out because everything is so calm and beautiful. Restaurant was delicious. Close to 7-11 and pharmacy. I would definitely go back to this place if not in the height of high season because of space in pool. Plus, the price is righter close to 2,000 than 3,000. They had the perfect size of flip flops and bathrobe for both my husband and me, which was amazing.
Last minute booking exceeded expectations”
Booked this in July as a last minute booking. Staff were super helpful, breakfast had good options (delicious too!), and the room was just lovely. People complain about the noise but this doesn't bother me so was fine - although might be a problem for some. The room had some nice finishing touches. Would stay here again!
The staff was really nice and accommodating, providing access to shower before room was ready very early in the morning. Very nice and changing selection of food at breakfast. Great concierge / travel desk with great suggestions for leisure activities and booking the right tour. Would really recommend this hotel.
I have been visiting this hotel for almost ten years and I was never disappointed; the staff is friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and quiet and had everything you need including a balcony to enjoy the evenings, the breakfast is good with many choices, the location is right in the center of the old town and you can reach everything on foot
Best hotel stay in Chiang Mai, will stay again”
The staff are friendly, attentive to keep the property clean, and we’re happy all the time. I liked the style of the property with the little ponds by floor rooms with koi fish in them. Pool area was clean and well kept. I will stay here again.
Excellent hotel with exceptional staff.”
There is no question, this is a very good hotel in a good location. The staff are very good and attentive. The restaurant serves excellent food and the bar staff mix a mean cocktail or three. I have no hesitation in recommending De Lanna and will be returning.
Amazing location and great staff!”
I am travelling with through Thailand with my sister, and only doing 3-day stops as we go, so for us this location was so perfect!! We got in at 7am on the overnight train from Bangkok, and we’re able to drop our things at the hotel and go on a self-guided walking tour of the Old City temples (many of which were right around the hotel) - when we got back to the hotel after lunch our room was ready (early) and we got to relax in the beautiful room before heading out on an excursion. Btw because of its location, we were always last picked up (so extra time to eat their delicious buffet breakfast) and first dropped off from our tours - which I always consider a huge bonus!! I got laundry done at the hotel - which was a bit “pricey” (if you have more time than we did you could bring laundry to an off-hotel spot where you can clean 1kg for 40 baht!), but it was quick and clean! We used the Grab app to go to and from the night bazaar - which was quick and easy (if we’d had more time, we would’ve have checked out the area near the bazaar (outside the old city) more, but it was still cool to see it! For our last day, we decided to do a cooking class and asked to hotel tour agent for recommendations - and it was amazing!!! Pra Nang Cookery School if you’re interested - it was 1200 baht per person, for the full day, and we made 7 courses (with from ingredients from the market and from the school’s garden) which was too much for us to eat - so we got takeaway boxes and the hotel gave us plates and cutlery so we could eat it poolside (after we’d checked out) while waiting for our flight. Overall, it was an amazing stay!!
Seriously Worth It”
This hotel was amazing, close to everything and service was amazing! Hotel was clean and beautiful just as the pictures! We got there early, but they held our bags while we went to the Grand Canyon of Chiang Mai and when we got back we checked in. 100% would go back and would recommend to a friend.
So far it's a fine place to settle into. I enjoy an early swim, however the pool doesn't open until 9 AM. I haven't tried the food but so far staff is accommodating. Lots of foreigners here including myself (USA), which means convenience in area: taxis, tuk-tuks, massage parlors, etc. Better prices however if you travel elsewhere. I had to upgrade in order to obtain a reasonable room with balcony view of pool, however worth it. After all I am on vacation and don't want to be confined to some dark, rear, musty smelling room with no view.
nice hotel, great location ”
We had a wonderful time at the DeLanna hotel. The hotel is nice , the rooms are clean. There are mosquitoes but that's everywhere. Lots of restaurants and spas with in walking distance. It's so easy to get around from here, the red trucks drive by all day long. The hotel suggested an elephant tour, it was so great and we ended up being the only two in the tour that day. I would highly suggest talking to the hotel for tours. Breakfast was included and they offered a variety of foods, there was a lot to choose from. I would definitely recommend staying here for your time in chiang mai!a
In old town handy spot”
Nice quiet place in old town. Luvly and green surounding in garden nice pool.. although for me .. the water was a little cold.. staff are polite and helpfull.. rooms are nice size and clean.. we had a very noisey ac unit in our room the first night.. our room was changed the next day and no problems .. staff came to the room very quickly after calling about ac.. Over all.. nice place great location.. close to many things 😁😁👍👍👍
A great value hotel in the old city”
Being such good value, and located so conveniently this was my second year to spend my 5 day Christmas holiday in the De Lanna. Fifteen munutes from the airport this four storey boutique hotel is located in the old city within easy walk to many inexpensive eating places and a few minutes walk from the famous - not to be missed - Sunday Night Market. The rooms are clean, well serviced and comfortable, they include a safe, minibar and tea/coffee making equipment. All rooms have a balcony. Free WiFi was provided. Check-in was smooth and fast. Breakfast is buffet style and offers both western and asian selections. The hotel has a swimming pool of reasonable size surrounded by sun loungers. Tables and chairs on a lawn next to the pool are available. Lunch and dinner are available in the restaurant or at the pool side. All the staff were polite and friendly. For the price this unassuming and informal hotel offers very good value for money.
