Family of three adults and one senior”
Deniz Houses Hotel was pleasantly clean, with large rooms, and lovely staff. As is common in Turkey, there is no elevator, but the stairs were not too steep to manoeuvre with large luggages. The rooms had enough space to have two large luggages open at the same time and with ample space to walk. The room with the tiny balcony had a lovely sea view and that room even had a visitor in the form of a very cute and curious cat who peeped in from the outside. The bathrooms were very large and had ample hot water. Very comfortable beds too. Counter staff Ali and Jokai (I’m not sure of the spelling, sorry!) were very helpful with tips and advice. Get your tours from them! It is very close to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia and also Sultanahmet Tramway. Thank you Tom Brosnahan of TTP for the recommendation!
It’s worth for money.staffs are so lovely. I really like a staff at the roof top of hotel. She is a good grandma.
Great location with top staff”
Great location - well run hotel with great staff
Great Location and Nice View”
It's quite beautiful and cozy hotel in the historic city center of Istanbul. Staff members are very kind and always willing to help. We've enjoyed our stay here.
Spacious family room, seaview balcony”
The room is very spacious and clean. It has seaview balcony. The breakfast served in the rooftop and good taste. Location is great, five-minutes walk to Blue Mosque. The situation is quiet yet near to many counters tourists need like airport transfer, money changer, ATM, halal food, convenience stores, etc. It has stairs to reach floors upstairs, no elevators.
Small and Quiet hotel”
A very long walk from the nearest train station but located in a quiet neighborhood close to a lot of restaurants and terrace bars. There is no lift so having a lot of luggage or heavy luggage makes it difficult moving up and down the small set of stairs. The rooms were extremely tiny with little room to move or pack. They had been recently refurbished but only a token effort was made to give the bare minimum facilities to each room. The staff were friendly and happy to give direction and help out.
Best thing I liked about the hotel is the location itself. It was very close to all the historical sights, hence made the travelling very easier and cost effective. All basic requirements for staying in hotel were present and staff was equally co-operative.
Close to Sultanahmeet”
- staff speak excellent english and very helpful. - the hotel is very near to Sofia Hagia Mosque and Sultanahmeet markets - there are also coffee/tea bars about 2 minutes walk - clean room, bed is very large and comfortable but only 2 small pillows were provided. - our room was number 13 i don’t know why they still have this room number BUT THE VIEW WAS AMAZING - lots of stairs, no one was there to help with luggage - we stayed 2 nights, breakfast was the same, traditional turskish breakfast - we didnt take trams or buses so can’t provide how much the price from the hotel is to Galata Tower and Ortakoy. About 20-25TL on taxi, just negotiate, maybe 20 minutes. - you could walk from Galata Tower to the hotel if you want to view the sunset (via the bridge where you can see a lot of fishermen), maybe about 30mins? not sure maybe less. - do not take uber, not allowed in turkey (just general tip, nothing to do with hotel) :)
Hersey harikaydı çalışanlar çok ilgili guleryuzlu ve hossohbet insanlar, yeri zaten merkez ve heryer temizdi. Whoever is looking at this page now you can choose this without second thoughts. It was clean, people were nice, the place was 4 minutes away from Blue mosque.
The staff are friendly, cleaness is very good, the breakfast is constant, worst thing is there is no elevator, Single room is very small, the hotel site is not very well, but it's consider cheap as a value for money.
Good location. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed.
location is very good”

The hotel location was fine
Nice hotel with a view to Marmara sea”
It’s a small hotel having not bad view from its restaurant and terrace. Open terrace is quite small, I’d say very small but good enough when there is not much people. When it’s cool outside, there are not any :) There is also sea view both from some rooms (they are great by quality/value ratio!) and “restaurant” (which is in fact not a restaurant but the room for breakfast, it could be used for self-service (tea, coffee) at later time too. Rooms, we had the one with sea view, are quite big and light, having large windows, not same size rooms hotels like this cheap usually have. They are bigger. Bath room was quite big too. No problem with hot water, etc. Sea view is present but not really great, there is construction plot (noisy in the day time), railway (Marmaray line) below your windows. If you like to look at multiple ships running in many directions, it’s for you. Some rooms have nice balconies, quite small. You can hear little noise from other rooms but noise from big Kennedy Road below and from buildings more significant. Hotel has great location, almost in the middle old center (3-5 minutes on foot). It’s clean enough. Staff is helpful. Hotel is suitable for site seeing, all interesting spots are nearby, 5-15 minutes on foot. You can use their airport transfer, I enjoyed it. Excursions are also available in hotel reception. Overall impression is really good, especially for the money I have paid.
nice sea view balcony”
the room with sea view balcony is wonderful especially for lovers, you must be enjoy marmara sea sunset view in your balcony. roof restaurant for breakfast is also nice experience, flocks of elgent seaguls are always there.
Great place to finish a long vacation”
I was pleased overall with the staff and the location of this hotel. I was lucky in that my room had a pleasant view of the sea. However, up on the rooftop the view is better, and this was available to everyone. The walk to the Hagia Sophia takes just a few minutes. There are plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood.
A great location for Istanbul”
Our stay at Deniz Houses was great. The staff is very willing to help you out with whatever you might need and gave great suggestions on things to do. The location was fantastic, only a quick 5-10 min to all the main attractions. Would def. stay at Deniz Houses if return to Istanbul.
I just spent one night in this hotel. Breakfast was superb with nice view from their tiny balcony. The room was not soundproof, I can hear other guests chatting in their rooms. The location of this hotel is far from public transportation, not a good idea for people who think they can take tram or other public transportation from and to airport. I took subway to Aksaray from airport and took taxi to the hotel. The taxi driver was taking me to many places before finally we can find the hotel.
good breakfast,good location”
We had a hard time finding this hotel using our map from the airport, but it is within a 15 min walk from the Sultanahmet streetcar station. When we checked in for our double room, they had put us into a family room (two singles + a double bed)in the basement level. It smelled like cigarette smoke so I asked for another room. The staff looked around but the only other option was quite a small room so we decided to stick with the first one they gave us. Nonetheless, they came again a few hours later to offer another alternate room which had opened up as well as offered to move us the next day if we wanted. Very helpful that way! They also helped clear things up when we had a misunderstanding about how we were to pay for our turkish bath experience. The afternoon/evening gentleman in building B is just that, quite a gentleman and so very courteous! There is bottled water available free in the lobby and an excellent breakfast with wonderful choices, though in winter when you aren't using the patio the eating area is quite small. The bedding was very nice and both the bathroom and bedroom quite new and nice.
