For those who want to enjoy an authentic experience, Desa Dunia Beda provides all the right touches of traditional Javanese hospitality. If you stay here, you can take in the fresh sea air from your bedroom. While the accommodations are modern, they are based on a traditional and primitive style of art and architecture, so you can really immerse yourself in the experience. The rooms even come complete with kimonos. Everything you could need for entertainment may be arranged with the hotel staff. You won't be short on things to do here, as they offer scuba and snorkeling trips, a game room, a small library, fishing trips, horseback riding, and cycling. Or you can arrange a trip into town by a horse-drawn cart. Keep in mind this small slice of paradise is located on an island, and Desa Dunia Beda provides regular transportation to and from the island.

Me and my family stayed in the family villa it was nice and comfortable. All the styff were nice so was breakfast at the private beach. They dont have hot shower so thats the only thing my kid didnt like. Other than that everything was amazing! Thank you!
It was only a weekend getaway and we were not so lucky, it was raining the whole time. However, we had a good time. We didn't looking for hectic beach life and we found a peaceful retreat in this place. Perfect location for us, far from busy Trawangan with a beach that practically for our own. The staff are helpful and warm. They helped us with whatever we need. Since the beginning, they explained in details on what to expect and whatnot. I like our room, Javanese style with good quality furniture. Please be warned that there was no hot water when I was there (no biggie for me), no toothbrush (easily got one from the hotel staff), and there was time when the shower was not working (but then there's a bucket of water). If you're looking for fun Trawangan, don't go here. You will see only people walking and cycling - which I am happy with. It's a quiet place that I need badly, I wish I stay longer.
Romantic stay with fantastic food”
We enjoyed our 3 nights stay and will definitely recommend it to our friends. Staff are friendly; our room was nicely decorated, clean and comfortable, surrounded by a large garden; location is quiet and romantic, being 30 mins from the centre by foot (which may be downside for some people). The highlight was the fantastic food - having tried some highly recommended restaurants and cooking class, we still think the Thai beef salad from our hotel is the best!
Beautiful view and quiet place. Good service. ”
its nice for honeymooner or who want a relax sea view place with pleasnt sea breeze in a calm location. its a bit cool if take bath at night as there is no hot water. thus try take bath before sunset and you will enjoy a natural warm water shower by ladle.
The best stay available in entire Gili Trawangan”
The Resort is located in an idyllic location which seems to be very Serene and free from all the crowd which you see on the other side of Gili Trawangan near the harbour. The Resort has a beach view for all the rooms and has a restaurant on the beach. There cannot be a better way to start your day than hear the soothing sound of waves crashing by the shore as you sip your cup of coffee. The Staff in the Resort are very congenial people and ready to help for any of your concerns. The resort also provides bicycle for hire which is the only mode of transport if not for the expensive Horse carts which you find near the harbour. we stayed in Kampung Villa and it seemed absolutely perfect with a sea view from the room. The resort has probably just around 15 Villas and hence it feels like you have the place for yourself. I would definitely recommend the Villa to anyone who is planning to goto Gili Islands and wants to enjoy the more peaceful side of the Island and still doesn't want to be far from all the fun activities that this island has to offer.
Small boutique style traditional bungalow s.expertly trained staff.frendly .food amazing felt like we were living like kings .private quiet beach and sunset views .walk into sea and snorkel with fish and coral .
A beautiful place to stay. We loved the traditional joglo bungalows and teak furnishings. We travelled with our 15 year old son who slept on a comfy mattress on the floor with plenty of room. The resort is very quiet compared to anything near the main drag. At high tied we snorkelled straight out from the beach & saw 2 green turtles & plenty of fish, but sadly all the coral is dead.
One of the best on the island!”
My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon and we're so glad we did. We landed on the busy end of Gili T and were so glad to have been whisked away to the quiet side of the island to this property. Gili T as an island is not as developed as other places, but our stay here was great. It was remote and had a great pool. The beach is a bit rocky but that's for a good part of the island. The staff here is AWESOME. They all went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable as possible and even helped us book our ferry ride back and got us a private driver in the city that was great! This is one of the top places to stay on the island.
Spacious, unique and perfect quite and romantic stay”
Pros - huge traditional teak bungalow with all the expected amenities of a decent hotel. The bed was large and comfortable, the air conditioning worked well and outdoor bathroom had hot water with space. The indoor furniture is antique and the outdoor terrace is a great spot to hang out in the shade. Desa Dunia also offers a great salt water pool, good restaurant and nice loungers/beach bags to catch the perfect sunset. Word of caution - it is the quietest spot on the island in terms of things to do, however, this is why we picked it and added to the charm of the place. Don't choose if you want to stay close to the party scene. Fantastic stay and would recommend to anyone, particularly for 2+ nights over 1.
Quiet, Private, Relaxing”
A very relaxing place to stay. Appeared to me to be the There are a small amount of bungalows on site compared to the size of property, this makes for a very private feel and quiet, chill place to stay. There aren't many people staying there so you get great service and attention from the staff. There was always an open lounger or bean bag chair on the beach or by the pool. Every bungalow is private and secluded feeling. The bungalows are really cool, with a traditional feel and traditional art, a porch, and outdoor bathroom. The beach is nice, and excellent for snorkeling right out front of the resort. You get free snorkel gear from the hotel and can walk right in to beautiful, clear water.
Only 12 beautiful bungalows on spacious, very well kept grounds, straight on the beach. This was easily the most serene resort we had during our 4-week trip on Bali/Lombok/Gili. Staff extremely friendly, helpfull and adequate. Having breakfast on the small, romantic restaurant on the beach with your feed in the sand, looking to the sunset. With the available bikes, you are in only 10 minutes in busy 'downtown' Gili T. In all, it was fantastic!
the food and breakfast was amazing, the staff were amazing, our rooms were always serviced, the pool and beach was beautiful, the location is a bit far from the main township but so worth it! loved everything about this place would definitely stay here again 10/10
Great quiet resort”
Excellent spot when not wanting to be in the center of things. Stuff is extremely helpful. Cottages are lovely and clean. We stayed 5 night in the sea front one. Outdoor bathroom is cool. There is lots of places to walk to dinner wise but if you want to get the pier where everything is happening then get the bicycles. You can cycle all over island in about an hour or so. Takes about 20mins one way to the pier. Some places you need to walk the bike coz of the sand and torch would be handy in the evenings. If you go left from the hotel you can cycle all the way to the pier but its darker on the way back if you come back at night time. Going to the rights it’s easier to cycle after sunset but you need to walk your bike at times. Beach isn’t the prettiest as lots of corals so not as easy to get in or maybe not ideal for kids. Breakfast is delicious. We only had one dinner there from the BBQ which was good. There are two diving centers nearby. Tried Lombok dive – about 7 mins on the bike to the left of the resort. Would go again as no safety measures and you need to get a horse cart and then boat goes from the pier. There is another one 2mins to the right of the hotel that was good – forgot the name they take you on the boat directly from the resort. There is lots of diving places in town to try. We saw 2 turtles snorkeling in front of the resort. Pool is sea water and has a shallow end that could be good for little ones. Roads and paths around the resort aren’t paved so could be hard to get around with a stroller.Would definitely come back.
Fantastic stay - 5 star room, views and service”
We had a fabulous time at desa dunia beda! Would recommend it to anyone considering it! It's in the quiet part of gili t but close enough to walk or cycle in and plenty of lovely restaurants and bars nearby! We had a beach front villa which I would highly recommend - the views were stunning and the room was huge and lovely furnishings! Breakfast was amazing and served virtually on the beach. All staff were always polite and helpful. You have to pay for the bikes and some days there were not enough for everyone to go around so be aware to maybe get one sooner rather than later. Snorkelling equipment is free however it's a bit worn so consider taking/renting/buying your own. Be aware the beach has amazing snorkelling but the coral makes it impossible to go out a majority of the day at low tide therefore coral shoes are essential! We bought cheap jelly shoes in town for £3 and they were perfect all holiday! Would recommend snorkelling from the beach as the fish are amazing! We loved it here and would go back in a heartbeat! Definitely one of the nicest places to stay in gili t and would thoroughly recommend it!
Relaxing villa on the northwest side of Gili T”
Excellent stay at the Dusa Dunia Beda for 5 nights. They are located next to a coral beach on the quiet Northwest end of the island. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was gourmet and reasonably priced and the villas were large with outdoor bathroom and mosquito net for the bed. Great time, hated leaving.
Peaceful, beautiful room and lovely staff”
Our stay was very peaceful and relaxing. Loved the room and location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice pool and was good they provided bikes to get around the island. Would highly recommend especially to couples
Great People, Great Location, Great Place.”
Our stay was fantastic. The staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. We loved the traditional take on a modern balinese bungalow. It made the holiday more realistic. The food at the restaurant was beautiful. We ate their every night of our stay. Value for money. Great food and beach setting. Would recommend this place to anybody. Families, friends and couples.
A really nice and authentic experience”
It was an absolute experience and pleasure to stay in this hotel. I was first a bit apprehensive reading about the open air bathroom and the brackish shower water, but the villa was very spacious and made entirely from wood, it felt very authentic and the bed was very comfortable and sleeping under and the open air bathroom made me smile every time I went in it. I loved having a shower where the water comes out of a stone mouth and to ladle fresh water over me with a coconut shell. It was a truly great experience made even nicer by very attentive and helpful staff, to be able to go snorkeling with turtles and to stay in a place where others came to enjoy the quietness and the spectacular sunset.
Quiet, peaceful. beautiful sea a few steps away”
The hotel is situated on the quiet part of Gili so it's perfect for us who wanted to relax and just enjoy the sea view. The staffs were friendly, the food was surprisingly good, and you cannot beat the luxury of having the sea just a few steps away from your door. The beach was beautiful but it was way too coral-y to swim in. HOWEVER. When we got bored of the quietness, we had to walk/bike +/- 2 kilometers on sandy roads to the main strip. We didn't mind that though since we needed the workout. Be sure to bring flashlight if you wanna come back late because it gets super dark at night. The room was okay, I kind of didn't mind the salt water shower but some of you might. All in all, it's a great hotel to stay in Gili if you want to relax and enjoy the quiet.
A Hidden Gem”
We loved staying at Desa Dunia Beda so much that we extended an extra day. This is the perfect place for a romantic get-away or just to rest in a quiet environment. If you want the nightclub scene, take a horse drawn cart to the nightlife at the port. We did that on two nights and enjoyed walking, eating and visiting places. When it was time to go back to the hotel, we left tall the noise on the strip and settled in to the hotel. We took night strolls on the beach (full moon was perfect). We sat at the tables on the beach for a nightcap and reflected on the day. There was nothing that the staff wasn't prepared to provide. Service was a main theme and the staff knew how to provide individual attention. With the island having no fresh water source, the showers were salt water with a fresh water rinse. Never did that before but it was quite refreshing. The hotel actually hauls in fresh water for guest bathrooms. We'll be back to this resort as it provides the perfect place to do everything and a launching point to explore the two other Gili Islands during the day plus snorkeling in the fantastically warm water. My wife was able to swim with sea turtles during the snorkeling. Great jog, Desa Dunia! You'll see us back for another vacation!!
