Liked our stay here! Maintenance could've been better but the friendly and helpful staff made up for it! Thankful for arranging a cab to the airport!
A relaxing stay”
Stayed at Deshadan for a day during a weekend getaway with our two little ones. We're immensely satisfied with the facilities. Luxurious, relaxing and fit for those who'd prefer a certain extent of privacy. The room (top floor, pool-facing) was spotless and clean. The swimming pool is great. The restaurant served some yummy dishes. The proximity to the beach is another highlight. It's only around 300m while taking a short route via the Tibetan market. All in all, a relaxing stay. Our only regret was we hadn't planned to stay longer.
One of the best resorts”
Good service & staffs
Good stay with family - but need to rectify below mentioned issues. ”
Food and rooms were good. Pool was okay. No proper card payment facility in the hotel, that was the only major drawback. Seems like they need liquid cash, so not supporting card payments and for name sake just kept a device which is not working. Coffee powder or tea bags not provided in the room, very bad considering the class of the hotel. Rest everything was okay. Even if these are minor issues, need to rectify it
While it was a nice stay thanks to thr excellent response and courteous nature of the staff”
While it was a nice stay thanks to the excellent response and courteous nature of the staff, there is a scope to improve the existing facilities. Pool tiles need repair. Restaurant had a certain smell that needs to be taken care of. But full marks to complete staff (top to bottom) for being at beck and call all the time, helping out with every kind of query and generally being nice and pleasant.
The best hotel in Varkala”
Staff are always ready to help. The pool is clean and tidy. Breakfast is good. Good value for money.
Value for money”
The hotel was a good location. Staff were friendly and helpful and the garden well maintained. Breakfast was basic, one choice of juice and same everyday also one jam, same everyday. A bit of variety would be good as if you don't like the one on offer there's nothing else. I would like to see the management get rid of the curtains as they are old and look as though they haven't been washed for years, hated touching them. Apart from that the rooms were clean although you were lucky to get hot water for long.
Definitly No Beach Resort - Needs refurbishment”
Don't think you are in a Beach Resort. For that labelling it is far to much away from the beach. Dark rooms with mould spots on the walls and the shower curtain. Hairs of the last guests on the floor. Tattered parasols, sun loungers and bath towels. Nice staff at the reception, but only there. Not worth the price.
Shoddy service; forgetful”
Stayed for three nights and room did not get cleaned once. Hung the clean sign first morning, and it had disappeared when I returned, with room uncleaned. Reminded them to clean twice, but it never got done. On last night slept terribly because air conditioner attached to other unit was humming too loudly all night long. Pool is nice. Location is a walk in the dark away from beach. Staff are polite but not that useful. Service disappointing for this price.
Absolutely fantastic! ”
We were really surprised at the high level of the accommodation and service we received at Dashadan! We had one of the AC rooms which ticked every box for us and for the price paid was an absolute steal! The hotel is relatively small and not a big resort, which we had been concerned about - it actually had a real homely feel and has only a small number of rooms. The pool was great and breakfast good with both western and indian options. We didn't eat dinner in the restaurant but ordered some Kingfisher 'pop' from the bar, which was delivered poolside. It's a 5 minute walk from the cliffs, but that could be a good thing for some.We got tuk tuks home from the cliff bars in the evening as the path home wasn't lit but that cost less than 100 rupees. The staff were top notch and advised us on how to get to Munnar and arranged tuk tuks when required. I would definitely stay at Dashadan again and recommend to friends!
Lovely clean pool, very kind staff & good room.
most comfortable bed in kerala!”
Very quiet location but only a few minutes walk away from the main strip of restaurants and shops and the beach. The best and most comfortable nights sleep since we arrived in India.. most beds are very hard but this was like sleeping on a cloud! The pool was clean and well maintained with a few beds around and fresh towels put out every day. Not many guests when we were there and so we could choose what we liked for breakfast... cut fruits and banana porridge were lovely. Coffee could be a little stronger though. We only booked for 1 night but decided to stay for 3 as it was so comfortable and convenient. Waiters and staff very helpful and pleasant. The only down side was the bathroom had a slight drain smell but nothing too bad. Complimentary toothbrush and soap. Would definitely stay again.
great value for money.”
We enjoyed it, the room was large and comfy but need a bit more housekeeping. 10 minutes walk to beach but streets and rows are dark at knight. Overall would recommand.
Great little hotel with rooms situated around a sparkling swimming pool. Clean, comfortable rooms with very comfortable beds. We were offered a choice of room, ground floor or first floor. Complimentary towels to use on sun beds. Deshadan is situated a short walk to cliffs and clean beach with stunning views. An excellent range of good quality value for money restaurants close by The staff were on hand to help in any way possible, with excellent knowledge of local sites to visit and arranging transport. We had a great stay at Deshaden and will be returning next year.
Comfortable and enjoyable”
Unfortunately our flights were changed and thus we couldn't stay the second night. The one night we did stay though was excellent. We were able to check in very quickly, the room was immaculate and after a month around India we finally found a bed that wasn't like rock! I felt like I slept on a cloud!! The only negatives were the WIFI was hopeless -they give you 2 options to log onto for free but both dropped out regularly and weren't available in the room - which is not essential to some but as we were trying to confirm flights it was annoying. The other would be the food. We were starving when we arrived so ordered food from the restaurant and literally out of 4 dishes we ate about 6 mouthfuls...horrible....and they charged for everything. We didn't realize how close it is to a HUGE amount of restaurants....we found out shortly after. Neither would prevent me from coming back, I would definitely stay here again - its close enough to everything but being a little stroll away gave us the peace and quiet we were craving.
Close to the beach and secluded enough ”
Had a lovely time there. The staff were friendly. Proximity to the beach was the main attraction and the reason we booked this resort in the first place. Overall a good stay and would recommend to others.
Lovely Time at Varkala”
The staff were ready to help. We had to sort out a minor change in one of the bookings and the staff did the needful over the phone. The 1st impression was really good. The crowd at the hotel was interesting and contributed a great deal to us having a real good time.
One of the nicest places we stayed in Kerala. ”
No problems at all except it rained every day but not all day!
