absolutely lovely ”
after all my first preferences were sold out i found this place and boy was i not disappointed. it is everything it promised to be and lot more. turns out the bungalow we stayed at the dickoya bungalow was 100 year old but in impeccable condition. it is right on the tea estate so you walk out and see folks working on the plantation. we were late and had asked the cook to make a meal for us. the best sri lankan food id ever had. you could taste the freshness in the vegetables. there were two minor disappointments there isn't much of a walking trail from here and there was an electric failure at night. with the staff asleep in a strange place and it being a dark night as dark as they come it got really scary. luckily i had the managers number and it all got sorted. those were a few scary moments though.

Fantastic bungalow, great location, smiley staff.”
We had the best time at Dickoya Bungalow, the service was great and the food was the best I tasted in Sri Lanka, prepared and served by faultless staff

52 Kilometers from Nuwara Elya! Secluded away.”
The location is the most problematic issue: the bungalow is in the actual Dickoya Estate, a tea plantation 52 Kilometers (!) from Nuwara Eliya (go Google it yourself), which with bumpy mountain roads means at least 1,5hours to get there. We could not even see the city, because roadworks doubled the time to reach it. Directions are also poorly located on the roadside, causing detours and multiple attempts to find the entrance spot. Our guide described it as a place "for elderly". The place is charming and clean. We were the only hosts at the time, making the whole villa available to ourselves. The staff, two Singhalese men, were delightful but lacked basic English skills, which they however balanced with exceptional cooking skills. We opted for the Sri Lankan dinner (only other option was the Western Dinner). We had a great dinner in the dining room, full of "old world" charm. The room was spacious and clean but somewhat tired: damp on the ceiling and mould in the shower. The bathroom was really the biggest disappointment: it needed some serious renovation, which we found unacceptable in an accommodation of such level. We went in September. Temperaturs did not require heating but favored mosquitos: our room was full of them, and the tiny room vaporizer was ineffective. I slept only a handful of hours, using most of the night time hunting down mosquitos in the room. The bungalow is inside the tea plantation, so you can roam freely and meet some worker, which was lovely. But we would have liked more to walk in Nuwara Elya instead. Our overall experience was disappointing: too far away from the main attraction, too many mosquitos in the room.

Surrounded by tea farm and beautiful room”
Located inside tea farm and we couldnt find the location by google map, luckily some local nearby knew this place. This small hotel surrounded by beautiful tea farm! and hotel facilities are great too! We ordered local SriLanka food as breakfast ,and its too delicious! By the way, they have room for driver which inlcuded dinner and breakfast but only cost 1,500LKR/night. You could let your driver rest at there as well.

Outstanding location”
A friend and I booked this boutique bungalow online and we were not disappointed. The location among the tea plantations was just glorious. Chef Ravi was wonderful and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was huge and very comfortable. High among the mountains, it was an unforgettable experience. Thank you.

Nice Colonial Bungalow with modern facilities”
we spent the New year eve there and what a perfect getaway from town was that! it had the calm and peaceful environment surrounded by tea estates and lot of green. Have to admire the quality and the friendliness of the staff, they were highly attentive on each tenant's need and tried to fulfill at the very earliest. But of course there is not much of exploration except for the tea bushes and i think they could have pay more attention on promoting the nearby attractions, excursions which would add more value to the hotel.

Beautiful bungalow but poorly managed”
The rooms at the Mandira Bungalow were really beautiful. We had a suite which consisted of a double room with a twin room off it which was perfect for our family of 4. The living rooms and common areas were also very beautifully done. The experience was, however, let down by the poor management of the hotel. Staff were very kind and willing but lacked the English and training to provide a quality of service which matched the environment and the price of this hotel. The Manager only appeared at the end of our stay to collect payment. Communication with staff was difficult and we had to use our driver to translate. There was insufficient room at the dining table so meals were taken in two sittings with the result that those on the first sitting were rushed through their meal. We were on the second sitting and found our food to be cold. Breakfast was also cold. This could be a really lovely place but it needs a manager based on site to give guests a sense that they are being properly cared for and to ensure the quality of food and service.

beautiful plantation mansion in 'tea country'”
Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights here, good location in the uplands, beautiful setting, very relaxing. Staff were excellent, evening meal was ok but not wonderful. You need to find a friendly tuk-tuk driver for sure, then you get about to see all the sights (incl. Adam's Peak) knowing how much it's going to cost. Only downside is lack of cafes and restaurants in Hatton and Dickoya.

Great bangalore ”
I stayed there one night for Adam's peak climb. To be honest, location is not convenient for Adam's peak coz it is around 13km away however this hotel is worth to stay. They have only 4-5 rooms and all rooms are well decorated with nice fixture. Also staff is so friendly. If you stay at small Inn at entrance of trail for Adam's peak, you won't be able to experience this pleasant stay. I love this bangalore and definitely recommend to my friends.

Beautiful hotel and lovely location. ”
Loved it. The staff go above and beyond. The only slight complaint was that we weren't made aware how much dinner would cost if we ate at the hotel. It was quite expensive by Sri Lankan standards but then we should really have asked how much it cost before we ordered.

Good location and excellent view”
Staff hospitality was good. Very difficult to locate the bungalow as it's sitting on the hill without any signage. We were stranded in the middle of the night as our paid booking was cancelled. Night time looks very scary as not a lot of people around and no proper centrally connected security system in place. Telephone system is not attended during the night. Very good staff hospitality. Highly priced, no where near 4star. Agoda should be sued for charging high price and high commissions. A day light robbery!

So peaceful”
Restful stay even though we woke up early to climb Sri Pada. We arrived at 8pm in the evening and yet the staff kindly arrange a guide and a taxi to pick us up early morning. Peaceful atmosphere with great staff. Will definitely go back!

enjoyed the return visit but shame about the breakfast”
For that price and its remote location it would be expected to have breakfast included . Breakfast was overpriced.
