That certain charm :)”
From the moment I was in correspondence with the staff to the moment I left, I felt taken care of and thought after. The location is beautiful, the people amazing, The food delicious, and cannot beat the sunset. I did not want to leave. If you need to stay in Coron City, this place is perfect and only place of it's kind with water front. Thank you Riza and Discovery Family for all the love and welcoming Kindness! Plan to see again real soon!

Lovely place to stay near Coron”
Loved this place! Nice and quite place near Coron. The chalets are no-frills and the staff go out their to ensure you have a great stay. Settled in a nature reserve, a stone’s throw or short boat shuttle from Coron.

Best value for money”
This resort exceeded our expectations. It is well maintained and have basic amenities. Also, staffs are friendly and helpful. Located near the town center, it is the best option if you want to avoid the hustle of Coron's busy streets. Never had any problem arranging our boat transfers. Will definitely choose to stay here the next time we go back to Coron.

Love Coron!”
My adult kids and I enjoyed our stay at Coron immensely. Discovery Island is about 10mins motorized banca ride away from the port at Lualhati Park. We were greeted by Riza. She's so nice!!! Super friendly and cheerful and helpful. Chari is the resort cook and the food is really good. They have limited food in the menu board bec resort just opened after Coron was opened to local tourists, but be sure to ask for grilled chicken thigh and grilled pork chops because those are really good. For my 2 kids and I, we had 5 grilled chicken thighs among us. It was that good. And they have a wide array of cocktails and spirits. So much to choose from. If I were to go back to Coron, I would chose Discovery again. We loved it there!!!

Basic and super clean. Bring bottles water because the water in your room is not potable.

Excellent location pity about noise”
Views to die for and good pool too. But initially constant loud drone from huge boat? moored nearby. Very wearing and could hear it everywhere. Then whilst eating in restaurant workmen starting drilling and sawing just behind us. Don't come to idyllic island to be hounded from restaurant by noise. Went to pool and noise started there too and realised the work was being done on a gazebo there. Awful, really got in way of enjoyment.

Nothing Exceptional about this property”
I chose this resort because my daughter does scuba diving. This amenity is no longer available. There are lots of mosquitos and red ants. Be prepared to pay for everything plus water in the restaurant. You have to go in the mainland by boat for 10 minutes if you want laundry services which is 300. pesos per bag. The shower was hit and miss, sometimes all hot and other times cold. lots of ants in the room. if you hang your clothes on the outside railings of your room, it gets infested by ants. Dont be surprised to have smokers in the restaurant while you eat your food. Best to be in the mainland where Restos are more diverse. Overall I rate El Nido better than Coron. Restaurants in El Nido beside the beach are more fun and decent. The Resto near the beach in Coron was hit and miss. Shakey's pizza was awful. Coron is over rated. K GRILL was the best resto I found near BLUE WATERS Hotel with decent food and serves fresh buko juice. We ate there all the time and was happy with the food. If I go back I'll go to El Nido which I visited in 2016. You can fly straight from Manila to El Nido by Air Swift or Air Asia. Do not fly to Puerto Princesa and take the 5 hrs. hair raising van trip on treacherous road and hell racer drivers. The highlight of the visit is Twin lagoon and tours will access this whether you are in Coron or El Nido. If you are a scuba diver then Coron has more to offer. If in El Nido you can visit Nacpan beach and do glamping.

Great place to stay with excellent diving and food”
The room was clean and large. The diving was amazing. The hotel works with discovery divers (Marcel) and will help you set up daily trips to the wrecks. They pack your lunch and are extremely helpful in all respects. Marcel, the dive master for discovery could not be better, he has more than 10 years of experience on the wrecks and safety was a priority. We were able to see all of wrecks and do deep dives through the prop shaft. Amazing. Dive prices were very reasonable especially compared to Paradise Island or some of the expensive resorts. The hotel staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating. Since I wanted to do a lot of diving and had limited time they even helped me with some shopping in town at no extra cost. Allen and Little Mama, the owners of the resort are the best! Great nights of conversation, food, beer, internet and even English premier league. This is the perfect place to stay in Coron.

Lovely hotel in secluded area”
We stayed a few nights at Discovery Island Resort and really enjoyed it. You have to take a small boat to get to the island, but that's just a benefit, as you get away from the warm and loud city (and it only takes 10 minutes). The "native cottage" that we stayed in was absolutely fantastic, we were a bit worried it was gonna get hot, but the construction made it cool and airy. Big bathroom was a plus. NB that if you want to dive there are only shipwrecks to go to, so unless you're qualified for at least around 25m depth and prepared to go into the wrecks (with the dive master of course), I'd recommend just going on the snorkeling trips which are just awesome! Will absolutely stay here again if I go to Coron again.

Very good place and ideal to explore the area.”
We spent 4-5 days here and we had a good time. - The place is 10min from Coron city, accessible only by boat. Free shuttles are available from the resort to the town, which is good since some other places will charge you extra money for that without providing all activities you can have in town. - It is ideally located to enjoy tranquillity and all that Coron offers in terms of activities. In our opinion except few bars and restaurant there is nothing that could motivate the choice of staying in Coron. - Staff is really really nice. Always smiling and trying to arrange you. That was really easy-going and making the atmosphere more relaxed. - The resort is located in the mangrove. No sand beaches but a nice view and a quiet place. The resort is nice with a comfortable and relaxing lobby, great to have diner, a drink, to play billiard or to chat with other guests after a day of activities. - Rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated with a balcony and a nice view on the mangrove. Partition are in hard materials so don't fear to hear your neighbours. Only the hot water is missing and our mattress was curved and thus not that comfortable. - Diving are accessible directly from the resort. Same price as in town. Experienced dive master. - Food is cheap and good but menu a bit limited after few night. You can ask the chef to cook some fishes you can buy in town. - Only missing is a kayak or local boat to explore the small islands and the mangrove around the resort!!

Best Hotel in Palawan”
I wasn't sure whether to book here since there were a couple of subpar reviews - thank god we did. My boyfriend and I started our month long vacation and Discovery and it remained our favorite place. The location can't be beat - downtown coron is too busy and kind of dumpy, so with Discovery Bay being a super cheap 10 minute boat ride away, you got convenience and beauty in one. The restaurant and bar were great. We highly recommend the curry and the veggie spring rolls. Staff was unbelievably helpful in booking tours and organizing boat trips and airport pick ups. The sweet resident dogs really added to the laid back friendly ambience. The rooms were medium size, extremely clean, and most importantly bug proof. After talking to several other travelers I am convinced Discovery Island is the only place to stay in Coron.

Awesome location, Wonderful Staff, Fantastic stay!”
Our stay was simply awesome. The staff here are absolutely wonderful and just so friendly and accommodating. I really felt as if we became friends and the island felt like our second home for the 4 days we were there. We were travelling with our 1 year, 10 month old daughter and the staff did everything to accommodate us even helping entertain and play with our daughter. The food in the restaurant is really good. With a menu as diverse as Thai, Indian, Filipino, Korean and Italian, I wasn't sure if they could pull it off, but they did. The only feedback I have is that the deluxe room should include a kettle, some cups and cutlery... A fridge would also be great but, all in all, not a huge deal. The boat ride to Coron is only 5 mins, however we chose to spend each night in the resort restaurant and bar as not only is the food good but it's very reasonably priced! All in all a wonderful stay thanks to the awesome, friendly staff at Discovery.

Lovel place close to town ”
He had a couple of great days at the Discovery Island Resort. The best of the hotel was 1) the great food in their sole restaurant. Every single dish was yummy, nicely prepared and decent priced. 2) very friendly staff. You never had to ask things twice. Always attentive. 3) the great dive base headed by swiss people. Very relaxing dive tours all day long, making every single dive tour a tour to remember. THere is a beautiful beach you can reach by boat just 20 minutes away. Town is 5 minutes away.

Quiet Little Hotel Just Outside of Coron”
I stayed here in late September and it was exactly what I was hoping for: quiet, peaceful, and not too far from Coron. As a diver signed on with Seadive (the Alpha Dog of diving around these parts) I was worried that it would be inconvenient as getting to and from the island involves a 10 minute boat trip. It wasn't inconvenient at all. Just telling Reza or any of the other staff when I wanted to leave with as little as 10 minutes warning and the boat was ready for my departure. They'll pick you up as well for free any time before 7 or 8 or something and then there's a 100-150 peso fee if they're to pick you up any time between then and midnight. The rooms themselves were simple but nice, though don't go expecting hot water if you're in one of the little cottages. Food in the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced and the whole experience was perfect. While there's a lot of other options, the main one for me would have been staying in Seadive itself. While the food there is better (I had dinner there almost every night) the operation is crowded, the rooms aren't anything special, and overall it's just a louder, less relaxing place to stay. Discovery Island Resort worked out perfectly for me and I'd definitely stay there again next time I travel to Coron... which I'll have to do as I haven't yet seen all the wrecks. Great spot.

It's the simple things in life.....”
i thoroughly enjoyed my time at discovery. from the simple island life, to the consistent smiling staff, i found a place away from the hustle and bustle where i could unwind. yes, there is no running hot water, but you're in the philippines - are a day of diving, do you really need it? if you want the creature comforts of 5 star, do not come here. if you want the rustic, but clean, charm of island life, here's your place. riza, with her beautiful and sunny disposition, will always do what she can to accomodate your tastes and interests. she arranged an island tour for me and i was not disappointed, even down to my fresh tuna lunch! allan, a mad man city fan, can often be found at the bar to have a beer and a joke with the girls and fellow travellers. don't be put off this accommodation not being in coron - it's only a 10 min bangka away and it is available all night should you want to have a meal and a few drinks out. just let riza know your plans and she will arrange it all for you! my only criticism of the rooms are the seriously hard beds - but again, i know this isn't the shangri-la and it's fine. the rooms were clean, quiet and spacious - what more could you want? the dive shop on the door step was an added plus - the boat picked us up each day, with our packed lunches, and off diving we went - big thanks to luke, our guide, for a lot of laughs and some great diving. i wouldn't hesitate to recommend the services of discovery - your island awaits!

Gorgeous, tranquil retreat”
We only learned of this resort on our last day in Coron when our ferry to El Nido was cancelled. It was so much nicer than anything we saw in Coron Town for the same price and we wished that we had more time to spend there. We had already spent enough time in Coron so that we were happy just hanging out on beautiful Discovery Island. The food was excellent and there was internet available for us to rearrange our schedule. The entire staff was kind and helpful. We highly recommend this resort.

Best vacation in years!”
Our group included our 86 year old father, 4 middle-aged adults, and 2 teenagers. We spent 10 days at this resort and wished we could stay longer. It was quiet and beautiful with endless options for adventure. A short boat trip connected us with all the activity the bustling town of Coron has to offer. The staff was friendly, helpful and often went the second mile to ensure that our needs were addressed. We divided our time between island hopping, snorkeling, and SCUBA diving. Marcel and his dive team were great and gave all of us a first-time diving experience we hope to repeat. We all want to go back!

Nice resort in a great location”
we stayed at the discovery island resort from feb 5 to feb 9, 2012, at a native fan cottage. you reach the tiny island by private shuttle boat from coron in only about 7 minutes. greeting upon arrival and check-in without any problems. there were a lot of highly irregular steps to climb to our native bur nice and beautifully overlooking cottage. the cottage was clean, sufficiently spacious with a good bed, windows on 3 sides, a bathroom with cold shower, a wonderful veranda. in 4 nights, beddings were not changed and after 2 nights we had to ask for fresh towels which we got without problems. the restaurant (with free wifi access, electricity allowing)is nice, the food was ok (nothing really exciting)but all together (food & drinks) a little on the pricey side... we went there mainly for diving and the discovery divers did not disappoint us - professional, swiss managed dive center with excellent dive masters, good boats and reliable equipment!

Isolated location with super warm service”
The resort is located on an island 5-min away from the Coron town. The island is quiet and calm. The nipa rooms are basic but you feel like living in a jungle and you are at zero distance from the nature. So if you are a nature-lover, you can't miss this resort. The staff were super welcoming and helped a lot on our trip planning. Snorgelling and diving trips were well provided. The food was great too. Lunch can be prepared from the restaurant for day trips. We even asked for fresh catches from the market to be grilled during our trip. It was super yummy!
