This place is the perfect resort to chill in Boracay. Tucked away from the crazy crowd of Station 2 but the bars are still very accessible if you you want to visit them at night Here are the reasons why I would go back to this place again and again and again!- 1. The STAFF- Just the most helpful, courteous, hospitable, friendly and caring staff. You won't need to ask them to clean your room. They will do it daily and the service is just topnotch! 2. Amenities- The pool is very clean and the hot tubs are just just wonderful. NOTE hot tubs not just one! They're also located at the rooftop where another pool is also located and it has the best sunset view!!! 3. The free shuttle service- this was a very pleasant surprise. I was initially concerned that the resort's location maybe a little far from where the action in Boracay is BUT they offer free shuttle rides up until 10PM when I stayed last October 2023. You can pretty much request it to go wherever you fancy to go (at a reasonable distance of course) and you can also ask to be picked up. Note also that the transfer from Caticlan Airport to the resort is free including all the fees you need to pay for visiting Boracay. 4. Breakfast buffet- their buffet is exemplary. I stayed for six days and every day has a different variety of food. I hope this will not change. This sets it apart from other resorts' buffet which are the same everyday. 5. Thoughtful EXTRAS- every 6PM someone will knock at your door to bring you a small local snack for free and another staff will ask you if you want your foot serviced (for free). I did not ask this as I think it is too much but I asked them what they'll do and they said they wash and massage your feet for about 7-10 min. Now, that's what I call topnotch service... 6. The place and facilities- You won't feel the place to be crowded and the facilities are just maintained very well. The gym is a little small for what I am used to in the US but it is still spacious and comfortable to use. 7. The internet connection is great! I never had any issue with connectivity. I was even able to host a number of zoom video calls with my staff at the US. 8. The resort's own private beach- this is a huge plus. I travel alone and one of my perennial worry when I go for a swim at beach is the security of my stuff. This resort has its own private beach and the staff will bring beach chairs and towel for you. They will also look out for your stuff so you can just enjoy the beach at your leisure. Nothing to worry about which what every vacation should be. Highly recommended! This is the place to be whether you are traveling alone, with a partner or with your family.

Con: The only issue my family ran into was a miscommunication regarding our arrival and use of the resort’s private boat from Caticlan. It was not communicated that we we’re supposed to meet up with their staff to set us up to ride on their boat, so we took the public boat and when we got to the Island we had to wait for over an hour for our shuttle. Pro: Happily, after our initial hiccup, they did a great job showing us that we are valued. The moment we arrived at Discovery Shores, we were constantly impressed by how we were treated by staff and everything the resort has to offer. The property’s location is very ideal, right on a very quiet part of the beach front. The hotel is beautiful with a stunning view of the beach. The resort has two nice swimming pools and our favorite was the one in the 360 roof deck where the view is best. The jacuzzis were great too! We enjoyed them. Our rooms were very clean, cozy and updated. I love how spacious they were and the interior decorating. You can see big stuffed bears everywhere around the resort and in your room too! My 6-year old son loved it, and we did too! :) The staff, what can I say, they were amazing. They always greet you with a smile on their faces when they see you, which sound simple, but it truly does make you feel valued. Not a single staff member didn’t do this. From the shuttle driver, to the bellman, to the guest service, housekeeping, to the restaurant staff and to the 360 roof deck bartenders and waiters, every single one was polite and happy to see us. I was celebrating my birthday there and the staff at the restaurant surprised me with singing happy birthday and a cake. It felt really special. Beachfront location”
Nice hotel on a beautiful stretch of beach. Staff is super friendly and helpful but not very polished which is typical for an island property. Property is built into a hillside so it may be a challenge for some but there are elevators which help. Room was very clean but could use a refresh. The grout was stained in many locations and the mirror had black marks that were not a cleaning issue. The absolute best thing about the resort is that they pick you up right outside the door at Caticlan Airport and you get to skip getting in line 3 times for the jetty ride to Boracay. A private van drives you straight to the beach and the Discovery Shores boat, which takes you to the island in minutes where another private van picks you up and takes you directly to the property. It was a true VIP experience and worth paying a premium. Anyone who is tired after a day of travel can understand how frustrating it is to stand in lines when all you want to do is check in and relax. Probably the only hotel I have ever been where soda costs more than beer (180 pesos versus 130). No grocery or bodegas near this property, so you are essentially captive. The food and beverage prices seemed high for Phillipines, but would be a bargain compared to any resort in the US or Europe. It is in Station 1 so it is very quiet at night. E-trikes (tuktuk) are readily available on the street and the security guard works to make sure you are given a fare price by the driver. Breakfast buffet was good. It focused a lot on high carb food but there were several protein options. Both Western and Filipino food was available. The food quality was good, especially for a buffet. Overall, this is a solid 4-star property. The service is good but their processes could be refined a bit, but maybe that would take away the island charm...not sure. The price seemed high for the room but it was during the holiday in early May, so maybe a premium was in place. I'd stay here again if the price was right.

The staff and service at Discovery Shores are incomparable. We love that we don't need to think about luggage, airport transfers, or anything. My daughter loved the pass arounds in the afternoon and the big bear in the room that welcomed her. Thank you also for the kind staff member who taught her how to do towel animals :) Great variety during breakfast. Room was cleaned twice daily, loved that the most. Things to improve: 1) We asked SEVERAL staff members when Bogart the bear mascot would be performing at the open area in Sands Restaurant and no one could give a definite answer. 2) We stayed in room 307, very near poolside, and gave a view of the pool. Glass roof on the hallway of the third floor was leaking badly, making big puddles whenever it rained. 3) Mirror with shelving beside the lavatory had mirror rot/mirror desilvering already, creating unpleasant black spots. Time to change them. 4) The thing we didn't understand was the salad area for breakfast. The refrigeration unit was too short, too tight. People had to crouch or squat down to reach the salad, then the space between the rows was also very tight. Very uncomfortable and inaccessible.

We stayed here just for one day,, just to check it out, since its too expensive for us. It doesn't look fancy from the outside, so I doubted my decision at first. But from the moment we were shown to our room, til they dropped us at the airport, it has all been an amazing experience. Its pricey, but its worth every penny. I only wish we could have stayed at least one more night to thoroughly enjoy it. I asked for a room with a nice view, since we had a blah experience with our previous hotel we stayed in. But now that I've been there, I think most, if not all of their rooms have nice view. We stayed in a Junior Suite which has a nice and unique and layout. I'm a bit of an oc, but I right away felt that I can trust the cleanliness of the room. It looked clean, smell and felt clean. They also advocate sustainability. They refill glass bottles instead of using plastic water bottles. They have a lot of small touches that set them apart from other hotels:-the welcome snacks, umbrellas on the door, setting the room for the night, yet another snack for the night. Breakfast is superb- good food with amazing beach view. You can watch the sunset from the infinity pool at their 360 view deck, or from the beach. They do have an amazing beach. It was the lumot season when we were there, but this is one of the few hotels in station 1 and 2 who really cleans up their beach front, so this is where I really enjoyed the swim. The staff are so attentive. In the beach, they will bring you pandan water to drink. You can see that their just happy to be of service. I just felt awkward because I don't have enough smaller bills for tipping, but stilloffer great service anyway. Their airport dropoff is very hassle free. They will just ask you to get in the car, sit for a while in the terminal, then get into their private boat (we were the only guests that time), while they do all the luggage lifting, and everything else for you.
