“Stayed in Athena for 4 days and 3 nights (15.5-18.5). Overall it was a fantastic stay. Hotel located in District 10 about 15 minutes from the main city by taxi. Easy to get taxi and very convenient. The staff were very helpful and the tours offered at the hotel was worth it. The breakfast was very decent with quite a good selection and fresh watermelon juice. The hotel rooms were modern with good lighting and the bed was very comfortable. toilets were clean and the shower was decent. I would definitely recommend the hotel for business travellers as well as groups of friends.”

“Located on a busy street of district 10, convenient to all the local eateries and stores. The property was recently remodeled according to a staff, so it is clean and well kept. Highly recommend it. Best hotel for your money. ”

“Room is spacious and clean. Nice bedding, friendly staff and great location close to everything.”

“The staff in this hotel is extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was simple but good. If you want to have additional order, they serve delicious fried rice at a cheaper price in the morning (around 20VND) Room is very big, new set of toiletries were provided everyday. Street food everywhere near the area (around 2 minutes of walking) by taxi: around 15 minutes to downtown, 2 minutes to supermarket, 20 minutes to airport Again, staff = excellent!”

“This hotel has marvelous grounds, and food that is worth taking your time to enjoy. It sits back so you don’t have any road traffic or noise, grounds are well kept, facilities are maintained very nice. I would book again even though it is an older hotel. I would suggest anyone would be comfortable staying and eating here during their stay!”

“Arrived to hotel after long day of flying. The hotel is a little hard to find. It off a street in a small tucked away alleyway. When we arrived, we were greeted by their door person and taken inside. Unfortunately, the front girl nor anyone in the hotel spoke ANY English at all. Nor did they understand even basic English either. We had organized our train tickets for the next morning to be delivered to our hotel by the agency, which they were. But when asking the girl for directions to the train station, she had no idea what we were saying even when showing her the tickets and trying to explain to her "how do we go here"? Anyway, apart from the lack of English and communication, the room was basic but ok for a one night stay I guess. But you could easily stay in District 1 and catch a cab if you were catching the train also, which we would probably do again if we could. It had all you needed. We did find some stains on towels and bed linen which wasn't great, but hay for the price and convenience, it wasn't all bad.”

“Noisy in the night with many people checking in and out. Allow hourly booking. I can guess what's going on. Not recommended for families with children. ”

“The best features were: the fancy shower nozzles (though not all were still connected correctly), the neat lighting and TV panel next to the bed, the very clean and elegant interior, the pleasant cafe across the street, and the location, which was down a quieter street but still very close to the Saigon Railway Station. There are bars and restaurants in the area and a supermarket and cinema around the corner. One problem: hall noise can easily be heard in the room. Also, district 1 with its tourist destinations is a taxi ride away, of course (this neighborhood is essentially all locals).”

“This hotel in repairing, I went there with 2 little kids and asked for somebody help us to bring our luggages to the room. But they weren’t friendly and the guy didn’t want to do . He put our luggages into the elevator and left. We had to take over everything eventhough my kids was crying. The room has no telephone, you can’t contact to receptionist, the balcony is unsafe , it’s easy to fall off , the back door doesn’t have a inside lock so your kids can open the door anytime to the balcony. We tried to reach the front desk many times but couldn’t. Finally I asked to changed to another room after 1 night couldn’t sleep ( because my 2 kids are so active and they didn’t sleep ) . Another room was old and not clean , have no fridge, tv can’t use ... the best thing there was it’s safe . My kids couldn’t run out. Many mosquito at night time, WiFi couldn’t connected . Terrible hotel .”

“Lots of vegetarian restaurants neaby. An ideal place for vegetarians. Wifi connection was unstable as sometimes could not get it. The motel did not even provide an umbrella for guests. ”

“Located right at the district 10 where easy to get to entertainment area such as district 1 business center, 5 (Chinatown), ect...The internet was strong enough to serve my need. Staffs were very friendly and helpful to satisfied my enquiries. Overall good hotel to stay and definitely I will come back again...”

“The hotel is quite fine for business travellers who required a good rest at night after work. There are no fancy facilities like swimming pool or gym. One thing that is peculiar to this hotel is you need to keep the hotel door open if you need the housekeepers to house keep your room. Which, to me, is not safe and defeat the purpose of a "Do not disturb" sign. If you do not keep your room open, they will never clean your room. Alternatively, you can close the door and ask the receptionist to get the housekeepers to clean your room.”

“I enjoyed my stay in HG hotel and would definitely recommend this hotel to other of my friends who intend to holiday in Saigon.”

“Very old looking Hotel equipped with very useful lift. But not very well located. Very nice staff”

“I was a bit surprise as me and my friend booked 2 room (online stated VIP room ) for sunflower hotel & spa which is unit 285 but when we arrived we were directed to 283 instead, (Sunflower hotel ) We were given 2 different room size and different level even though we book the same type of room, i was lucky to get a more spacious one, room condition is acceptable for the price, staff consider friendly & helpful, whenever we need taxi, they will get it immediately for us, nearby hotel have cafe restaurants and not far off also have foot massage outlet. nice place to go around. will consider going back especially the room 502 which have a jaccuzzi tub in the toilet”

“I booked it for my wife's friend and her fiancee. She said it was all good -- good enough for some hanky-panky, at least. :P”

“The map location on agoda is in the wrong district and the address is incorrect. This hotel is not the main Hotel 123, which is in district 1 - it's a secondary location. Because of the incorrect map and address, it took me 1.5 hours including 2 cab rides, a moto ride, and lots of stops on the way to find the hotel. Once I found it, they sent me to a different hotel nearby. The hotel itself was fine although it's about a 10 minute drive from district 1 and the staff don't speak a word of English. And there's nothing to do around the hotel but I had to check something for that question. Also, between the first and second night of my stay they moved all of my stuff from one room to another albeit slightly nicer, larger room without telling me.”

“I've done a fair bit of travelling around Asia and this hotel has to be one of the best ones I have stayed at. It isn't a place for everyone due to the fact that it is located in an area where you won't find many English speaking people, locals or tourists. There are lots of places to eat, some cheap and some a little more pricey. It will cost you about 50 VND to take a taxi to District 1 tourist area. I walked it myself lots of times instead of taking a taxi but it is a 40 minute walk. The rooms are large and the bathroom is great and even has hot water to the basin. There is a disco bar just around the corner from the hotel and if you are at the front of the hotel you will hear the music a little but it ends at 12:30 anyway. I know that I enjoyed my stay of 12 days there and I will definitely stay there on my next trip to Saigon.”

“Very inexpensive and I also got a room with a balcony and nice view”

“Awesome stay. We stayed there on three different occasions and everything was perfect each time. Big rooms, clean, shower, fridge and tv set. The staff is really friendly and helpful. A definite recommandation ! There's a couple of supermarket nearby. It's a bit far from the city center (about 1hour on foot, but 10 min on a motorbike) but manageable. ”

“1. Picture is not matching the room. 2. In the mid night, it always has noise upstairs or other room. And the toilet always has strange voice every 10 minutes in the mid night ”

“Good facility, clean but noisy room (construction upstairs that start at 7am!) And after booking, staying one night, staff had asked me to pay more the next nights because the room I was admitted to was on a "higher floor" therefore "higher price" which was not disclosed to me by Agoda at the time of booking. Was then switched to a lower floor which I was later informed is a room sometimes booked for "short time" stays (District 10 neighborhood full of "short time love" hotels LoL) The staff spoke little English but didn't seem to really understand my concerns. To staff's credit they tried to remedy by putting an air filter in the new room. I've stayed in many hotels in the Southeast Asia region in other countries. However at this hotel, I will not stay again.”

“Very nice staffs that actually smile and take the time to help customers. Place is clean. WiFi is good. Not sure why other reviews indicated otherwise. It is in a local working class neighborhood so don’t expect too much. Good local foods around the area. Would stay again.”

“Henry was not only a cheerful, welcoming and interesting host, he went above and beyond when helping us out by letting us stay an extra night and use his phone and laptop when we had a few travelling troubles. From taking us on his motorbike to the greatest local cafes and his wife Trang providing us with traditional home cooked meals, Henry and Trang were an absolute highlight of our trip! They've become good friends of ours and we would recommend this homestay in the highest regard. A definite must, if staying in Ho Chi Minh City.”

“I booked it for my wife's friend and her fiancee. She said it was all good -- good enough for some hanky-panky, at least. :P”

“Very old looking Hotel equipped with very useful lift. But not very well located. Very nice staff”

“1. Picture is not matching the room. 2. In the mid night, it always has noise upstairs or other room. And the toilet always has strange voice every 10 minutes in the mid night ”

“Located on a busy street of district 10, convenient to all the local eateries and stores. The property was recently remodeled according to a staff, so it is clean and well kept. Highly recommend it. Best hotel for your money. ”

“Room is spacious and clean. Nice bedding, friendly staff and great location close to everything.”
