La Vela Saigon Hotel

"This place is just amazing, the staff is very helpful and everything is so luxurious. We were a bit sceptical at first seeing no reviews on this hotel considering how big it is, but we're so grateful that we decided to stay here. Our flight left late in evening, so they also allowed late check-out for free and after that chill in the pool area. The breakfast was superb, the best I've ever tried and the selection was just enormous. And the infinity pool - so cool! Definitely will recommend to everyone if you are looking for 5 star experience."

Hôtel des Arts Saigon - MGallery Collection
District 3,District 3 - View on map
"Stayed here over the Christmas period and from the moment you walk through the beautifully designed front doors, you enter opulence and 5 star service. The hotel is exquisitely designed, from the high ceilings in the foyer to the furniture selections. The room is classically designed and the bed is one of the most comfortable beds I've slept on. The pool is on the rooftop and there is also a nice bar called the Social Club, which is nice to have some pre-dinner drinks. Hotel is in District 3 but it's one street from District 1 and is easily accessible to all attractions. Highly recommended! "

Au Lac Legend Hotel
District 3,District 3 - View on map
"My partner and I chose this hotel almost entirely based on the rooftop pool and price. What we didn’t realize was how much more came with the hotel. When you walk in, you can tell the hotel is well maintained and newly renovated. Beautifully, tastefully decorated art is everywhere. The staff are warm, kind, helpful and always willing to practice their English with a smile. When we travel in Asia we prefer places that are central so we can walk almost anywhere, or taxi. Au Lac Legend was ideal in this respect too. All the main attractions of Saigon fit within 1-2km of the hotel. There’s even a market called the Box Market within 3 minutes walk. 7-11 is close by too. Service has also been remarkable. There was some issues that came up due to renovations and the nearness of the hotel. We were blown away by how the manager, Thuy, and her exceptional staff were able to accommodate and turn a negative into an absolutely positive, memorable experience and stay for us. At the time of writing, this hotel is massively undervalued and we’d strongly recommend to anyone looking for a balance of city and quiet sanctuary to choose Au Lac Legend for their stay. Thank you to the staff and especially Thuy for the unforgettable stay! :)"

Bach Suites Saigon
District 3,District 3 - View on map
"Bach Suites is absolutely amazing, it is a new hotel- about 9 months old situated right in District 3, a 4-mins walk to the famous 4P's Pizza and other eateries. You have Phuc Long, Highlands, Tea Ren's all surrounds the hotel. All the staffs are ever-friendliest you'll encounter :) Young and energetic, resourceful in telling you where best to eat! Since it is located in the heart of Saigon, you may need earplugs to sleep (which is provided for turndown service) so we are good with that. It was a contemporary classic modern decoration, you'll wake up to clean and comfortable environment everyday here! Will recommend to friends & family who will be visiting Saigon."

Citadines Regency Saigon - managed by The Ascott Limited
District 3,District 3 - View on map
"I booked for four person to stay for 3 nights and I was given a one-room apartment and one connecting room. The Apartment is very spacious and has an equipped kitchen and a washer/dryer as well. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. We like the shower too. The reception staff are friendly and they all could communicate rather well in English. A reception staff named Lynn who assisted us in checking in is very helpful and friendly to us throughout our stay there. The hotel is located in District 3 where good food and cafes are just down the streets. it is also walking distance to many famous places such as Notre Dame church, war museum, turtle lake, Vincom shopping mall etc "

Ramana Saigon Hotel
District 3,District 3 - View on map
"As a traveller, we are absolutely spoilt with the number and types of accommodation available to us. To help me narrow down my search I always choose a hotel in the best possible location from the things that I want to see and the night life. I rely heavily on the feedback and although every traveller has different tastes, expectations and budgets, you can get a general feel of the hotel. The location of The Ramana was in District 3. District 1 is the heart of the city so the Ramana was a short taxi drive away. The airport was a short taxi fare away which was also convenient. The staff were very helpful. at reception was very helpful and professional in organising anything that I wanted to do or see. The room was clean and spacious with all the mod cons including a great bath tub. Hot water and air con was fine. Coffee etc. The breakfast buffet was extensive and catered for all nationalities. Would I stay here again and refer the hotel to others? - Absolutely!"

"One of the best hotel that i ever stayed in hochiminh city, Not in district 1 but close enough that you can get grab to district 1 for very cheap. You’d also see more local restaurant/ coffee shop here that wont charge an arm and a leg for it. Great price for such an awesome hotel. Super duper clean and spacious. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hopefully they can keep the way it is for many years to come. I’d totally stay here again the next time i go to hochiminh city"

Orchids Saigon Hotel
District 3,District 3 - View on map
"I live in Saigon but my girlfriend and I stayed at Orchids Saigon Hotel as a treat. A lot of the hotels in Saigon are down on the river. That location is awful in my opinion. In comparison, Orchids Saigon Hotel is in a great location! It is only two blocks from the Independence Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, The 'book' street, and Diamond Plaza. The hotel is brand new and the rooms are lovely. The pool on the 9th floor is a bonus. We swam in it and never saw another guest! The buffet breakfast is adequate -- there is enough there to fill you up before a day's sightseeing! Thanks to Mr Lang, Mr Thinh, and Ms Vy! P.S. I met another guest there -- an old lady who was all on her own and a little 'lost' -- we ended up helping her arrange a few things to make her stay enjoyable... I noticed that the staff (including the owner Mr Lang) were so helpful with her, which I think is worth an honourable mention"

In and around District 3

More about District 3

District 3 is quieter than District 1, but it still offers visitors a premium location in the center of Ho Chi Minh City. There are a few sightseeing attractions in the area and several hotels in District 3 that are much more relaxed than their counterparts in District 1. This area also has several foreign-run businesses and embassies.

One of the main sites in District 3 is Chua Xa Loi, a seven-tiered pagoda and active place of worship. This pagoda was especially important during the war with America, as it served as focal point for government opposition. A memorial at the pagoda honors Thic Quang Doc, a monk who famously lit himself on fire here in protest. Another pagoda, Chua Vinh Nghiem, is also in District 3.

Another unique attraction in District 3 is Bao Tang Phu Nu Nam Bo, a museum dedicated to the women of Vietnam. Its exhibits explore the cultural, artistic and historical contributions women have made to the country. A few of the displays are particularly compelling.

Accommodation in District 3 is especially convenient for tourists who are arriving on a late train at the Saigon Railway Station. Local hotels are much easier to get to after hours than those in District 1, and many of the city’s major attractions are within walking distance. Tourists can also enjoy the French-colonial atmosphere in local neighborhoods.

The Ho Chi Minh City Eyes Hospital is also in the district. It has French affiliations and occasionally serves medical tourists. A small percentage of inbound travelers book accommodation in District 3 to recover as outpatients from the hospital.
