Wonderful Stay ”
Loved our time at Dolphin. Booked 3 nights here originally, ended up staying 8. Pros: - Budget friendly accommodation in Thong Nai Pan Yai which isn't the easiest to find. - Staff was always warm, receptive and helpful in our interactions - Quiet all throughout the day - Just a 30-60 second walk to the beach depending on where your bungalow is on the property - Only 5-10 minute walk to town - Plenty of restaurant options in the area - Nice beach for swimming Cons: - Not Dolphin bungalows fault, but the fixed taxi prices on the island are absurd. Getting to this part or the island is expensive (300 Baht per personal for a shared ride, 800 Baht for a private taxi from the ferry). Taxi costs could get expensive if you don't plan on renting a scooter to get around to other parts of the island.
3rd year back ”
I’d recommend Dolphin, it’s the best price for staying at a bungalow near the beach in the area. I chose to come back to thong Nai Pan this year because I was traveling solo and needed a quiet place to work on a writing project and I wanted to go on a dive to Sail Rock with H20 divers which offers a speed boat surface to the diving site. The area is removed from the party scene of Haad Rin which was a good choice for peace and quiet. The staff are chill and they will leave you alone unless you get their attention which i like. Can’t wait to return!
Idyllic Thailand experience, relaxing & beautiful”
We had an excellent stay and can't be more impressed with the Dolphin. Thong Nai Pan is a very relaxed area of the island, and the Dolphin is in the best spot. The staff are super chilled, very helpful, and informative. Everything on the menu is delicious. Value for money, and delivery of the word of mouth reputation of what everyone says about Thailand, will mean we tell everyone about this place.
A place with a soul.”
My his and and I spent 6 mighty at Dolphins Bungalows. Its truly a magical place, the garden! Oh that garden! And the staff are SO very kind and helpful, we were sad to leave this place, it felt like home. We’re already making plans to go back next year, we absolutely LOVED IT. On the practical side: There is the option of a fan bungalow with and without hot shower so depending on your needs make sure to note this when booking. Also, there is WiFi in the restaurant and in the bungalows at the front but in some at the back there’s no WiFi. That being said, the room we got at the back was very very nice, spacious, perfect! If I didn’t have to work online I would have liked to stay there. In any case, whatever you need, if you speak to the manager, he’ll help you. Him and his wife are just lovely and I have to add, she makes the most amazing Massaman curry and Banana Pancakes you will have in Koh Pha-ngan! ;-]
Perfect place for island getaway ”
The staff at Dolphin was amazingly accommodating. We decided we wanted AC on arrival, and they switched our reservation quickly and without complaint. Also, the food at Dolphin was the best we had on Thong Nai Pan Yao beach.
Spent six nights at Dolphin and would definitely recommend it. My deluxe air con bungalow was spotless and very nicely done out. The bar area is really chilled out all day and doesn’t seem to be on the radar of noisy families, so was a great place to waste a few days reading and admiring the view. The boys that work there are not the chattiest but very nice and work hard for the guests. The location on the beach is perfect - I’d say it was the quieter end of TNP Yai which I liked. Make sure you walk up to the 2CB bar too as the views and music are great, but take the road as following the sign off the beach is a bit treacherous.... You can also follow a path that goes straight up off that road and follows the coastline south to the next little bay. There’s no nice beach there but rocks to sit on and the 30 min walk is nice.
A corner of paradise”
In the southern and quieter part of Yai, surrounded by a lush and very well kept garden in a nice maze of tiny paths between the bungalows leading to the bar on the beach, it has a wonderfully laid back atmosphere. Staff is very kind and smiling, and gave us an excellent tip for bike rental just on the opposite side of the road. We had a "fan-hot water" bungalow and it was simple but clean and with everything we needed, including a very useful fridge. The vegetation among bungalows is so luxuriant you can hardly see people in front of you. Food is very good, the range of price is similar to other places around; restaurant closes at 10 pm, but that wasnt an issue: we loved sitting in the dark later at night with a Leo in our hand. If you want a little more bustle you can walk on the beach to other resorts' bars. Nice and harmless dogs around... they might just like a scratch and rest close to you, but that is common all over (if you are afraid, just ignore them, they'll do the same)
I loved my stay at Dolphin Bungalows. I had a very relaxing vacation on a beautiful beach. The beach has amazing views and the water is very clear. The bungalows are set in a very lush garden. They are clean and comfortable. The owner and his family are all very kind and honest people. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves very good food. It’s set in an amazing location,, there is a quaint little town within walking distance. The guy who rents motorbikes across the street even taught me how to ride a scooter. It’s one of the best places on the island. I will also miss the dogs, who are great companions if you’re traveling alone.
Paradise on the Beach”
Dolphin Bungalows are comfortable and beautifully situated. Depending on your preference you can have basic with a fan, or upscaled with air-conditioning. The whole complex is most beautifully landscaped with old trees and bushes, clean and well kept walkways, and ponds throughout. Each bungalow is private and one never feels cramped by other guests. The bungalows are a short walk to the beach through the bar and restaurant area. The food and service are both excellent. I will definitely return for another visit.
Fantastic place to stay! ”
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our 3 night stay here and we wish we could have stayed longer! The location is perfect, located on the the most beautiful beach which has plenty of good restaurants/bars and it's only a 5/10 minute walk from main road where there's a 7-11 etc. The bungalows are spacious and clean complete with terraces and hammocks. The food in the restaurant is reasonably priced and also fantastic, definitely the best along the beach. All in all Dolphin is probably our favourite place we have stayed in across Thailand, it's a great place to relax and I wouldn't hesitate to go back!
Good place in Thong Nai Pan Yai. Rooms are nice. Breathtaking view. Highly recommended.
Very nice bungalow”
The bungalows are very nice and the beach and the seeview is awsome. But around the beach, there are a lot of german families with kids, so it’s noisy and at times not as relaxing as hoped for, especially in the restaurants and Cafés. Anyways, if your are looking for a good bungalow / beach with no party traffic the is dolphin bungalow a perfect choice. We would come here again!
Basic room, but picturesque and awesome staff”
We were unfortunate to be there during a freak storm that lasted 7 days. So the three nights that we spent in Dolphin was raining 24 hours for 3 days, and the whole island was out of electricity and phone lines were down sadly. The hotel wasn't affected because they were running on a generator, but wifi was down almost every place near the hotel because of the storm. Having said that, the staff were REALLY friendly, and we spent most of our time on the lovely veranda reading and watching the downpour on the beach. They have dogs and PUPPIES there which totally made up for the weather. How can you be sad when you have three fluffy hyperactive puppies to play with? The staff were really warm and caring and gave a very personal touch to the place. Do note that the room is basic with no kettle, plates, etc. So if you want to do your own cooking or make your own food (which we did), bring your own stuff. There is a 7-11 walking distance from the place. It looks dark and creepy at night but it's actually completely fine. We got used to it after the first time.
Great accomodation in a fab beachfront location”
Had a great stay at the dolphin bungalows. Accomodation was very basic but clean. Stunning location on beachfront. Food was excellent and the staff were friendly. Great wifi cover in reception and cosy seating areas. Would definitely recommend :)
Good cheap location on the beach.”
Great. It's a bit out of the way, but if you chose Thong Nai Pan Yai, that's what you were going for. Great food.
Exactly what we expected”
We booked a really cheap Bungalow and got a simple but really nice and clean one, two fans, double bed, clean towels, hammock, chairs and table on the balcony. For people who want more luxury there are more expensive bungalows as Well, which looked really nice. Staying one night longer was no problem. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, booked taxis and ferries for us. Food in the restaurant was also good, we loved the breakfast, our favourite was the fresh fruit and muesli. The bungalows are at the very end of the bay which makes them the perfect spot for relaxation seekers. All in all a very quiet and relaxed atmosphere all along the beach with enough restaurant, food, shopping and scooter rental places nearby. Only downside was that the sealevel in July was quite low, so you had to walk a few meters to be actually able to swim, but thats more about the beach than the bungalows.
Paradise on Earth”
Two bungalows, two adults and two kids - age 5 and 9. Had a fantastic 10 days stay here. Extremely wonderful place. White sand, shallow sea excellent for the kids to go swimming safely. Very helpful and friendly staff. No souvenir sellers on quiet, clean white sandy beach. Fine kitchen both tasteful Thai food and also burgers, French fries, pastas - very reasonable prices. All kind of palm trees, flowers and lush green bushes all over the well kept area. Clean bungalows, nice beds and bathrooms. Will definitely go back when bank account allows it! Please note only cash payment.
Very nice stay! I booked a standard fan room and found it to be lovely and not too hot at all, also totally didn't mind the cold showers! The white walls inside were very dirty and dingy though and could use a scrub it quick paint over. My clothes hammock outside was also incredibly stained and dirty so I didn't use it. Please wash your clothes hammocks! The deck area was lovely. I also really liked the proximity to the beach and town though taxi prices to the peir are the more than the price of a night's stay! Not Dolphins fault but worth factoring into your budget. The dogs that hung out around the spot we're lovely as well. Restaurant okay but pretty pricey. Overall very nice stay and glad I booked.
A great secluded place offering a variety of bunglows”
Everything was great! Just be aware that bungalows are on the east side of the island and everything else is on the west..bungalows are just meters away from the beach.. there is 7 eleven nearby and a few stands with food with ok prices.. but for everything else you will have to drive about 20min to the other side of the island.. but it is very good for chilling and it's very quite and beautiful.. staff is also very very friendly! And it is a place with really good energy! If you dont mind driving a bit up and down the hill.. I definitely recommend this place!
Chilled and tropical”
