Cheap and Clean but not perfect”
Stayed here with the family 1 night as we awaited a cruise trip The good; rooms are clean and spacious (3 large beds but on the harder side) with a good view of the harbour, price is good and ladies at front desk will try to be helpful with a google translator in hand The bad; if you are going out with a tour boat then you will be on the wrong side of the harbour. This side only is used by ferry travellers that want to reach Cat Ba island for the day. There are very limited food options in this area, lunch or dinner is out of the question. Breakfast is possible in the main port terminal, coffee shops. Don't expect any beach in this area or entertainment, it's really dead. We walked the whole place. The hotel itself is ok, although the bathrooms had some issues that we just ignored (no shower curtain, leaky faucet). Water was hot, bonus. AC present but no way to control it so hard to say it worked. Overall a 6 out of 10 in low season and only if you are in transition to a cruise next day.

Pretty good experience. The staffs are friendly and helpful. They upgraded my room because the hotel was empty due to Covid. The credit card machine had been taken away by the bank because Covid they didnt have many customers. They are renovating the place as I was staying, a bit noisy but it will be good when new people visit. Some small inconveniences in my room but they listened and hopefully will improve things.

We booked here from Agoda and when we arrived the receptionist didn't look for our reservation and try to put us in another hotel, less quality and cleanliness. After one hour and a lot of discussion we can have a room in this hotel, but we don't know why they didn't want we stay here because there were a lot of free rooms

We have decided to book a night stay close to our port before our cruise the following day, and chance upon Domo while doing a quick search. We had taken a sleeper bus from Sapa and given another chance, I am convince that the train is so much more better option. Being in an awkward reclining position , plus the winding mountain path is no joke. After a 9 hours of ride under the cold weather, we definitely be shouting for joy getting of the bus. Our bus will arrive at wee hours and have decided on the very last minute to get the hotel to arrange a cab to pick us up. The hotel was so prompt in replying and we were so thankful that the hotel sent the receptionist Hung to pick us up with the taxi driver. It was dark and cold in the middle of the high way, and he came as an assurance after a horrible bus ride. Thank you Domo Hotel!
