Good choice”
I used to stay at the guest house near the marke n town. Given the influx of foreigners, the prices have increased 3 fold. Don Bosco is definitely a good choice for the price they are now charging. The place is clean, spacious n quiet. The onlt setback is it is a little remote n given the bad road conditions, a little inaccesible. But you can make full use of the pool n gym n spend your day resting n reading

Disappointed with staff attitude”
I have stayed in Don Bosco many times, but this time was not a good feeling , my room had a concern from Ac it was not cold enough , but this is not what made us upset , - but the way the lady at front office handling the guest's problem was absolutely made us more upset and get more disappointed , My comment to the management is to train your staff well how to handling customer request

Staff is freindly. Here is some comment for further improvement : - air-con in Room 215 should fix. - resturant is hot no air con. - should make some amend relate to page on Agoda about breakfast. On page Agoda mention Free breakfast but reality not free. If it is depend on room price pls help to state more clearly. We know that you try to save to support student but you may need to be fair for customer.

Unexpected little gem”
I was apprehensive when I arrived here as it is literally miles from anywhere however we had a huge delux room with an enclosed jacuzzi bath and sauna, a lovely pool, fantastic food and delightful staff, we were only there for one night and we were sorry not to stay longer. There is a shuttle bus three times a day into the city. I was very happy to support this venture

Good experience! ”
We had a good night at the hotel. We were just passing through Sihanoukville and had already done a lot of what we wanted to do there, so we were okay with the location, but it is out of the way if you are trying to see things. They do have shuttles to get you to main sights since it is a little off the beaten path, which we thought was nice. We didn’t use them though. Did notice on the sign some destinations charge a $5 fee for the shuttle. The hotel is kept very clean but it is older and worn in spots. Our room was big, beds comfortable and bathroom functional, though the bathroom was quite dark. The pool was nice and clean and the restaurant was good, just don’t be in hurry. The students were obviously dedicated to doing a job well done and we appreciated them very much. Would stay here again if passing through, not sure we would though if we wanted lots of beach time. It seemed the shuttles and Tuk Tuk rides could start to add up. But all in all a good, comfortable stay.

Our too was very large and there was water/robes in the room. The pool was great and the staff let us use it all day once we had checked out. The food in the restaurant was lovely. All proceeds go towards supporting the school which is great.

We just stayed one night before we flew from the airport. Staff understood limited English but they're very friendly. Food was just okay. It's a worthy cause to support so we were fine overlooking small communication issues during our brief stay.

What a deal!”
What a great place to stay--hotel, restaurant, pool and fitness equipment--at a great price. Beach resorts in the area are pretty pricey and this place has it all at an affordable rate. Yes, it is students that are running it and yes, they do make mistakes from time to time, but hey, you're on vacation and getting a big bang for your buck, so be patient and understanding and appreciative.

Really great value. A great pool area and a bit away from the hustle and bustle.. ”
I love the training hotel concept and the hotel is nice. Government Road works have made the journey in and out rough and dusty but I am sure it will get sorted soon enough . Nice pool area and good for kids also. Friendly and helpful staff. Meals etc were nice and well priced. With it being a training hotel for the underprivileged it is nice to think any profits are reobsorbed into helping this country. While I rated it as a standard hotel and not all 5 stars. Given the training facility concept and poor road outside not their fault it gets 5/5 for m me personally. Thanks for the great stay Don Bosco hotel staff and trainees :)

This is the second time we have stayed at one of Cambodia's hotel/restaurant schools and both have been excellent. The students are incredibly enthusiastic about being given such a wonderful opportunity in life and the high quality of their work shows in everything they do.

A Peaceful Oasis With Beautiful, Caring Staff”
Lovely quiet hotel, away from the noise and chaos of Sihanoukville. The student staff were fantastic and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. We ate a few meals at the hotel restaurant and they were excellent. The kitchen staff do an incredible job. We were saddened to observe some customers giving the reception staff a hard time--bullying really. These young people need to be treated with respect and if things aren't perfect, they are doing their absolute best. If you expect perfection, go elsewhere (and good luck). Our room was spotless, the hotel was indeed spotless, and our every need was accommodated. We do recognise that this hotel is not for everyone. It is for those travellers who enjoy to give back in a way that truly benefits people who have been severely disadvantaged but who are striving to learn and create a better future for themselves. If you want 5-star, go elsewhere and pay 5-star prices. For the money, we felt that Don Bosco gave excellent value.

good facility too bad they remain unconscious of air quality”
An overabundance of mothballs are used to deodorize, not just in the restrooms where it fumigates the entire lobby, but also along the exterior dining tables, for Although the odor of urine is not the most pleasant it does not cease the lungs, and is perfectly sanitary - they drink it in India to recover the vitamins & minerals.... Don Bosco, the founder of the Salesian brothers who run this school would turn in his grave. ..Naphthalene is a neurotoxin which kills moths and other insects quickly, it also disables people slowly...used in the first world war to gas the enemy....another air quality issue sacrificed for the sake of cosmetics is the individual air conditioner units are hidden INSIDE the roof instead of outside the units, except those on the first floor where the offices are. The effect is that a single smoker pollutes all the other rooms with the exhaust from his air conditioner adjacent to several others. This is surely an engineering BLUNDER, although mostly cigarette smoke (allegedly all are non-smoking rooms, but without fines, the unconscious persist smoking) obviously Methamphetamine and Cigarettes cannot be smoked outside
Reviewed May 06, 2017
Dear Sir, Thank you for your comments and your attempt to educate our students about modern science, toxicity and engineering. We have stopped using mothballs and other chemical-based products now. We continue to enforce non-smoking policies in the hotel. Unfortunately we cannot retrospectively rectify building designs, nevertheless, we will always be grateful to the generous donors from Europe who designed and built this hotel for the benefit of the less fortunate in our world. We continue to rely on generous donors to help us educate, shelter and feed about 500 students on this campus alone. Without them, and the generous guests who continue to support us, our work could not continue and Cambodia and, the world, would be all that much more the worse for it. We hope that you would return one day and see that your suggestions have helped us.

We stayed 10 days in Don Bosco. Paid 2 days through Agoda, then decided to extend our stay. It's a very quiet place, no noise, huge swimming pool. Staff is very friendly, room super confortable. We'll definitively come back here because there are many great and cheap Yoga and fitness activities to do around Sihanoukville. Don Bosco is about 5 to 7 min away from the center, so renting a motorbike is a very good advice. But honestly, it's actually good to be little bit away from the center, because you can sleep like a baby any time without being disturbed by music or construction noise. So if you plan to stay for few days, I would say that's 1 of the best option.

Overall, a very enjoyable experience”
We stayed here for a total of 7 nights and we were very comfortable and happy - apart from the last morning that is. We had arranged transport to Phnom Penh for the 07:30 bus with Reception Staff. However, when no one turned up at 07:15 we asked the Staff on duty to phone the company. The staff told us they were on their way. By 08:00 we knew that the bus had gone and by now, reception staff were looking nervous and told us they had ordered a tuk tuk to take us to the bus company. The bus company told us that it was Don Bosco reception Staff error with the booking form as they did not state it was the hotel school. So the transplrt went to the Guesthouse instead. We also ended up paying Mr Am Pork $5 for the ride to town! Luckily we had the time and money to spare and had no flights booked. The bus company were very helpful and we managed to get transport at no extra cost a few hours later. We would suggest you book travel arrangements with more experienced booking agents in town. The swimming pool, sun loungers, gym and grounds are lovely. The Husband and Wife team who manage the site do a fantastic job but they are leaving to do another project soon. We have booked to come back again next year and hope that things will not change too much. Location is not good. There is a free shuttle service that runs 3 times a day but finishes at 17:00 hrs. Motorbike rental from the hotel is more expensive than town at $8 as opposed to $5 per day in town but they are good condition bikes.

spacious clean bathroom, clean rooms, hotel staff eager to learn and be helpful (guard is not)
it was pleasant once we got inside. the gate right in front of it was closed and we were directed to a gate with the Hotel School, no one was at the gate nor in the grounds, nor were there sign to lead us to the hotel. challenging as we also our car. once we finally got into the hotel, the student and staff are very solicitous and welcoming. went out for dinner, and had to let ourselves in, getting out of the car to open the gate, and as we were going in we noticed the guard sitting inside the guardhouse preoccupied with his phone
