Dongshan Township hotels & places to stay

A Resort which earned my 'likeness' on its location, i.e. tranquility, an excellence place to relax, & it is next to a huge Park, with Cycling Tracks, suitable for cycle & runs. The staffs, starting from the Owner to the receptionist, including the 'house-Chef', were friendly & warmth, displayed their excellences ‘地主之谊’ (hosting in their local manner). An excellence Resort to stay, again for my next travel into DongShan, YiLan.

Set in Yilan, a relaxing and laid back part of Taiwan, this resort has got to be one of the best around there. Beautiful resort, nice landscape and great rooms. Our stay was extremely comfortable and nice. Staff were very warm and helpful. Bicycles are available should you want to take a leisurely ride around the area. Like most of the hotels in Taiwan, check-in time is 3pm. Should you arrive early, you can go to their cafe for afternoon-tea while waiting for your room to be ready. Reasonably priced at TWD 399 for 2, it comes with 2 drinks and a 3 tier afternoon tea set.

We loved everything about Loherb, especially how much effort the local hosts take in going the extra mile for their guests. They serve complimentary western style high tea, all food items was planned by a nutritionist, so the meals were very well balanced and extremely delicious and flavorful! We had our lunch, high tea and breakfast all within their cafe! Loherb takes pride in the quality of their food, the food was really yummy!!! Our room was clean, luxurious and modern with full bay windows, and our balcony overlooked the padi fields and mountains. It was so relaxing to sit at the balcony and admire the scenery. The facilities are very new and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we watched the tv on a large scroll down projector screen, which made it feel like watching a movie! Loherb also has their own aroma essential oil which I absolutely love, you can put it into the hot water bath or in the aroma diffuser. There is also a platform on the top level for star gazing (if the weather permits). They also provide bicycles if you want to cycle around the padi fields. Overall, out of our 10 days in Taiwan, this is one of the best stays! We would stay here again if we come to Taiwan! Thank you so much for the memorable experience!

I paid for the most expensive room they had and I wasn't disappointed. There was a main room which had 2 queen-sized/double beds where the attached toilet was and there was a smaller room which was a living room which came with a big screen TV and a sofa which my Taiwanese friend slept it. It also has a small wash basin. The attached toilet in the main room was huge. Most B&Bs in Yilan are children-themed and this establishment was no different. There was a play area on the ground level. There was even a small swing in my room which I young daughter enjoyed sitting in. The only area for improvement was that the breakfast spread was rather limited. Could be better. Staff were friendly and professional. A good place to stay if you are ever in Yilan.

Expensive but good place for family with kids. Friendly and helpful staff. Nicely decorated. No lift. Room is very clean. Bright and spacious. Children's slide in bedroom. Children love it a lot. Huge soft toys are provided in the bedroom as well. Like the bed. Breakfast is Excellent! Delicious! There is also a complementary welcome drink given, complementary cocktail drink at night for adults (orange juice drink for kids), twd200 product voucher, 10% off dinner etc. Can play dressup. Fun. Don't like the location. If taking train, would recommend to alight at Luodong station to take cab or alight at nearest Dongshan station and call for cab. This hotel is great if you do not intend to travel any where but intend to stay with its premises to relax. Would recommend that they plant more flowering plants to beautify the environment and garden. Recommended to go to crayon factory nearby with kids.

Overall, I think the B&B is ok, breakfast taste good and healthy. Got a lot of vegetable, so it's suitable to young kids. Rm is clean and big, beds are large, so I can sleep with my kid easily. But the hen and chicks started to make noise from 3am in the morning, which was quite unacceptable and annoying. I told the staff there and the next morning, I can't hear the noise anymore. No worries the hen and chicks are safe, maybe the staff there just keep them to another corner iat night time.

Grace & Kai are great host. They will made your stay like going back home or with your good friends. Breakfast is great . Although it is a bit far from city centre but you can cab there within NTD200. The room is clean and the surrounding are so peaceful and beautiful. You can actually stay there for the whole day. They also have a swimming pool too. Definitely I will come back.

This is the perfect house if you would like to have a laid back vacation. Kids will love it. Location is secluded but thats when you can ride the bicycle along the rows of padi field with your child strap to the back seat. The exterior of the house is beautiful with 2 gooses that never leave since day 1. Both my kids enjoyed feeding the fish and goose every morning. You can also do your own cooking in the well equip kitchen. Breakfast is provided from some best eatery in Yilan. Room is clean and well maintained. Every room looks like a hotel room with a big bathtub, again... kids favourite. If you bring along big luggages, fear not, they have inhouse elevator which makes everything so convinient for you. Will go back again! Recommended for family with kids or even the elderly.

The room was really nice and big. The owners of the guesthouse really put some effort for the interior design so you can easily feel like home. It's pretty nice in the morning because we had a big window in the room so there's a lot of sun coming in. The breakfast was good and well prepared by the owner of the guesthouse! Finally, you can borrow one of the bikes they have for a short ride around the river. It's a 25-30 km bike route! Ah and, there's not a lot of restaurants around but if you walk 2 min, there's a steak house really good. We really recommanded :)

The rooms with slide and tent are kids' favorite! They literally can play in the room all day long. Even adults enjoy a lot! The bathroom is quite big and very thoughtful with little chair for kids. They have a small pool in front of the gate which is good for kids under 10yr old. My only concern is that there's no BIG MAIN gate separate the house/yard/parking from outside/main road. Breakfast is Chinese style, it was just ok. There are 2 tables only so if all guests come to breakfast at the same time, you might not have seats. Overall, it's good and we love the stay!

Booked room for 4 and top up for 1 pax. It was at the upper floor with lots of privacy and big space. Owner called it the penthouse. Besides bed spaces for 5, there is a small living room area and another small library area that stored owners' 3000 comic books. Free pick up from railway station Luodong. The son Ah Jia gave us a brief history of Yilan and the places to go and helped arrange taxis. They use a collection of fine cutleries, tea cups to serve food which made the experience exquisite. My children gets to use their bicycles for free too. Overall a very pleasant stay.

A very nice place to stay if you do not want to move around too much. Very cosy and relaxing. I love the smell of the house and room; nice woody smell due to its architecture. Owner is pleasant, chatty and he makes nice coffee :) The location of the place is a little inconvenient; will need to call a cab whenever going out. If you are looking for place to be away from noise and just wanna laze around, this will be the perfect place. Can always grab a book and enjoy the peacefulness here.

We stayed at the newest building. Very nice place with modern room and kitchen facilities. You may drive to nearby night market about 10-15mins or call for food delivery service. Recommended if you are driving or book private driver during your stay. Really good and clean place to stay. Only one deficiency- no lift. You may need to carry your luggage all the way to your room.
