Donovan House- A Thompson Hotel”
The hotel is located in a superb location within walking distance to the sights of Washington DC e.g. The White house, Museums, Macys and about 6 to 7 blocks from Chinatown. The staffs - Asian receptionist and bellboys were friendly, polite and extremely helpful. I got a good deal per night through Agoda.

Great location, but poor shower”
stayed for 2 nights. the location is not touristy or commercial, therefore not too noisey in the evening. originally booked in a double deluxe and we were offered the king deluxe for extra us 20 with city view. rooms were large and plenty of space to move around. the roof level bar upstairs is great if your thirsty for a drink without travelling outside.

Modern Hotel”
We stayed at this Hotel for 2 nights in late October. Very modern Hotel (looks like it was recently refurbished), the rooms were quite different to a standard Hotel which was good. Location was a little away from major tourist attractions but still within walking distance.

The staff seemed overwhelmed by the presence of three or more. The halls had last seen fresh paint years ago and were dark and foreboding rather than modern. Dining was useless.

Hip and economical choice in heart of DC”
This was a very conveniently located and hip place to rest and recover from jet lag following a long trip to DC. Close to Metrorail, easy for Uber drivers to find, walking distance to both DuPont Circle and Chinatown. Clean, comfortable bed, and very friendly and helpful staff. Only downside is we had a small room with apparently no ventilation in bathroom, but that wasn’t a big issue and certainly doesn’t prevent a very high recommendation.

Unfortunate Horrible Experience with Checkin”
I had pre-paid the hotel via my card 5 days prior to arrival through Agoda, On arrival the hotel asked for 25 USD per night extra convenience fees plus a 100 USD per night deposit on incidentals. I did not have a problem with that even though it was not mentioned on the booking anywhere. My problem was that they refused to check me in saying that my card could not be verified, even though I had pre-paid. This was a 11:00 PM at night in washington and I had to after an hour of trying , find another hotel. Kudos to the receptionist who helped me throughout else this property was a real let down.

overall it was a good stay, the hotel is well located. But it’s expensive, besides the reservation you still have to pay $25 a day at check in. which I found exorbitant. cleaning in general was ok, they make the beds daily. however the air outlet of the bathroom was extremely dusty. which caused me an allergic crisis during the first few days. the staff were extremely polite and kind! would you come back? no

A solid solid choice”
Great facilities. Great location. Wonderful rooms with unique modern features and upgrades. Some staff really excel here and are truly service oriented. A couple staff really need to learn what hospitality and making guests feel welcome really is. One in particular seems to not care about much. Other than that, a solid stay, a perfect choice! The pool and rooftop is truly a great selling point but the procedure to get you to that floor needs rethinking.
