Conveniently located near to Matsumoto station. They have their own source of hot spring water for the onsen (did not verify). They also serve ice cream (evening) and probiotic drink (morning) for post onsen treat which was great. Value for money stay

Average room, but great onsen”
I decided to try Dormy Inn since it was really popular hotel in Japan. It is a little bit pricey but they have great onsen. The room is average with tatami and a little space for your luggage. It might be my last time trying Dormy Inn for the Queen room, but I'm willing to try the capsule room in Tokyo next time (which they proud of).

Wish I could have stayed longer”
I was very pleased with this hotel. Sadly for me I was only here one night so I didn’t get to use any of the amenities like the Onsen or the free ramen but I appreciate that they were available. Staff were extremely professional and helpful and spoke good English. They were able to accommodate me leaving luggage until I left after checkout and even provided me with disposable chopsticks when I forgot to pick some up for my journey to Takayama. The room itself was clean and spacious for one person and the bed was huge. I believe I had a double bed in a non smoking room. Overall I would recommend this hotel. It is also convenient to the train and bus stations as well as Matsumoto castle.

Location is great. Walking distance to castle and museums, 5 minute walk right down the main street from the train station. I forgot my camera lens and they safely mailed it back to Nagoya. Staff were all great. Welcome drinks in lobby were nice. All good.

A Fun and Relaxing Get Away to Matsumoto!”
We absolutely loved our stay over a long weekend. We used Matsumoto as a hub city location. We explored Matsumoto, Nagano City, climbed Mount Yakadake from Kamikochi, watched rice harvesting in Azumino and were also able to see their famous rice paddy art! We especially loved the onsens/sauna facilities located at the hotel. The breakfast was exscellent and they even offered free late night ramen. We will definitely stay in a Dormy Inn again!

Great hotel with lots of "freebies". There's free noodles at night, free ice cream next to the onsen and free washing machines too. The only problem was that the WiFi stopped working for a few hours but they seemed to get that fixed so all in all a great experience.

Service was great! Staff were all very welcoming. The public bath was actually pretty good! Nice atmosphere. Breakfast and midnight ramen were both great. Room was decent sized. We were able to check in early and they received our luggage ahead of time and had already put it in our room. I love travelling luggage free!

A hotel that means basic needs”
Not a fancy hotel. This hotel is like any business hotel but comes with bonuses 1/ on the 9th floor/top floor, there's a spa bath place that is gender-divided. 8th floor is the smoking floor. The rest are non-smoking. 2/At the moment, there's a complimentary night service - half-sized soba noodle from 9.30pm to 11pm.

Few minutes walking from the station, Yayoi Kusama Museum, Matsumoto castle. Room was small, but adequate for a solo traveler. English explanations on all appliances. Didn't have breakfast and didn't use communal bath/onsen, so can't say anything about that.

Matsumoto is a small town. The hotel is located at a convenient location close to station. We were driving and the hotel has its own car park. Though a small hotel, it has a nice outdoor onsen at the roof top. Absolutely value for money.

Is it really a Dormy inn? ”
I’m a fan of Dormy Inn and I stayed in many of their hotels all over the country, but this time it was disappointing: the structure and the room were dated and old. Room was small and more expensive than usual.

Wonderful stay”
We arrived in Matsumoto very tired and late in the evening and could see the Dormy Inn as soon as we walked out of the JR train station. We greatly appreciated the short walk to the hotel. The friendly staff quickly checked us in and our rooms were very clean and efficiently organized. This was our first stay in a hotel in Japan and we were not disappointed as we knew they would be smaller in size than American hotel rooms. Everything in the room was clean and worked very well (i.e. TV, plumbing,lighting). We stayed at the Dormy Inn for three days and discovered it was in a central location to most everything we wanted to do in Matsumoto. It was a short distance to the castle, shrines, museums, and different shopping areas. The Dormy Inn provided an excellent hot breakfast buffet for reasonable price. The Dormy Inn also provided a public style hot bath which we found to be very relaxing after a full day. This was also our first Japanese bath experience and it was great. Their bath facility was very clean and had an indoor and outdoor bath.
