Dormy always a good choice”

We stayed here for a few nights with 6 persons in total. Location wise it is not the greatest as there is bit of a walk 10 to 15 mins to either the Harajuku station or Shibuya station. The only good thing is they offer free shuttle in the morning to Shibuya station so good for departing the hotel and head to airport. Other than that, no free shuttle bus so u need to walk to nearby stations to go around town. However if you are looking for shopping, it is quite convenient since it is right next to the Meiji road which has a lot of brand name shops along the street. We love Dormy simply because of the hot bath offered at each property. However this is not a hot spring, but simply hot water with no natural minerals. So comparing to other properties with real or man made hot spring, the effect is not that great, although still give u a relaxing moment and good before going to bed. Will come back to this property in the future when travel to Tokyo but will also try out other Dormy Inn first. Breakfast was included and it was decent.

Great little hotel”

Location and overall design

if someone was to tell you that a hotel that looks out either onto a rail line or a cemetry was a great hotel you might think twice. but dormy inn takes that all in its stride and offers great hotel experience right in the best part of northern shibuya. located in a quiet area off meiji dori it is close to so much that is best about modern tokyo. the olympic stadiums are nearby and its only a short walk to shibuya commercial areas. a small tip - use meiji-jingumae metro stop north of the hotel - much less traffic than shibuya itself. learn to use pasmo travel card too. special thanks to the conceige at dormy who happily let me accompany him into shibuya on first arriving at the hotel. a great little guided tour in great company!

Don't stay anywhere else in Tokyo!”

Quiet, clean, small, safe, new

dormy inn is wonderful. i only wish i spoke more japanese so i could experience their sento baths and saunas! i stayed 8 days, but i never woke up early enough to try their free breakfast (only served 7:00am to 9:30am). great location between harajuku eki and shibuya eki. also close to the tokyo metro jingumae eki as well. they have a pillow bar on the second floor where you can choose your type of pillow...just brilliant! towels are easy to get at the front desk. great service at the front desk. real professionals work @ dormy inn! make sure you have the hotel phone number as most taxi drivers don't know about this newly opened hotel!

Great place to live!!!”

The Dormy Inn Shibuya is a great place to live! Great attitudes of staffs, nice hot spring service and beautiful breakfast on both western and Japanese food. The location is very convenient where is between Shibuya station (15 mins walk) and Harajuku station (10 mins walk). Shuttle bus is prepared every one hour to Shibuya station that you don't need to worry about carrying lots of luggages. If you want to go shopping, there are massive places you can go and many stores to choose and visit around this area. After a long day travelling outside, hot spring is really the recommendation I would like to give to, it is very helpful and relaxes you before sleep. Night ramen service starts from 21:30 and ends in 23:00. If you feel hungry, this is a great opportunity to enjoy. Don't forget to clean up after eating every time (it is so disappointed that there are always some people left their tablewares afterwards). Great experience living here and can't wait to come again.

Perfect set up for the solo female traveler”

I was seeking to be in the up and coming side streets of the Harajuka area during my recent trip to Tokyo. The Dormy Inn Premium Shibuya was the perfect set up for me. Wedged between Shibiuya and Harajuka and about a 10 minute walk to the busy action of either area, I could travel on foot to anywhere I was seeking to wander, including subway stations. It is located one block off a major road, tucked back along a quiet back street. I felt safe, I felt welcomed and worked for me quiet well. Accommodations are small, but for a solo person on a mission of shopping, I did not care. Staff was friendly and English was so/so depending on who was at the desk, but all were helpful. Paying for breakfast with my room was a good option to be fueled before I ventured out for my day. There is nothing fancy about this place, but it is clean, welcoming and horribly efficient...like many things in Japan.

Great hotel with all the amenities provided”

location, onsen and breakfast, free wifi everywhere

I really enjoyed my 5 day stay at Dormy Inn Premium Shibuya. Breakfast was delicious and filling and the nighttime noodle snack was a nice addition. The location is perfect - walking distance to Harajuku and Shibuya areas and close Metro line as well. Having access to the onsen was fabulous. It was open all night and they have free laundry use as well, additional charge for the dryer. I appreciated the service provided, as I came down with a fever and they provided me with some Japanese medicine to help me before I went to see a doctor.

Great location and amenities”

I had never heard of Dormy Inn prior to going to Japan, but I booked one in Osaka as part of my two week trip to Japan. The enjoyment I had at that property prompted me to cancel my reservations I had in Tokyo and search out a Dormy in by the Shibuya area. This hotel did not disappoint. I LOVE the Dormy Inn Onsen attire you wear around the hotel. Free Ramen at 930 (had this at both properties). The Onsen was very nice as well. They kept my luggage for me since checkout was at 11am and my train wasn't until 1pm. The location of this property is great, 7 min walk to the train, 7 min walk to Meiji Shrine. Thanks Dormy Inn....next trip to Japan I'll be looking for these properties!

Tokyo short holiday ”

I am so glad that I chose Dormy Inn for our short Tokyo trip. Not only it is well located, very quick walk to Shibuya station and minutes away from major shopping streets, but also it has the wonderful hot spring we enjoyed so much every night. Walking in the city during the day, and soak your body in the hot spring bath is unbeatable enjoyment.

Fantastic hotel in a great location”

Location, onsen, comprehensive breakfast comfortable bed, lovely staff

We really enjoyed our stay at the Dormy Inn, and we have missed it as we travel around Japan! The bed was extremely comfortable, the breakfast was tasty and varied, and the staff were lovely. The onsen was very relaxing, with really soft water. The location is about equi-distant between Shibuya and Meiji-Jingumae station, so is handy for transport to other areas of Tokyo, but really all you could ever need is in Shibuya itself.

Location, room quality, friendly staff

I stayed three nights at Dormy Inn Shibuya, the hotel didn't have the same size rooms for all the night but it was no problem moving room and it was my fault for booking late. Through my stay the staff where very accommodating. The rooms were big and the bed where comfortable. Location is perfect, close to Shibuya and metro. The hot springs is perfect after a day in the city.

Value for money hotel in strategic place in Tokyo”

Amenities, location, cleanliness

Dormy Inn is a very new hotel and is located right smack in the middle of Shibuya-Harajuku area. Just 10 mins from the hotel is Shibuya or Harajuku metro stations, or maybe head down to Omotesando area for quick luxury shopping. There's free public bath/ sauna facilities and free ramen before 11pm. The rooms are so clean and comfortable too. But of course, as in any Tokyo accommodations, don't expect huge room space. All in all, I'd recommend this to anyone I know who plans to visit Tokyo.

Second time Just as nice. Great Hotel”

free wifi, free breakfast. ammenities, service, great rooms.

Dormy Inn was found and booked last minute. I was very surprised at everything about this hotel: the size of the rooms (large), the ammenities, service. Everything about it was great, including the price. I would have no problem staying here again (and in fact I booked Dormy Inn again for the 2nd half of my trip after I left for Osaka and came back to Tokyo). I really like this hotel. Only cons are that the staffs' english is limited to checking you in and out. It's a great location, only 10 mins from Shibuya Station up a very mild grade. Easy walk. I didn't try the spa but it looked interesting.

great location, the room new & clean, and friendly staff

I enjoyed my stay at Dormy Inn Premium, the location was awesome, walkable to either Shibuya station or Harajuku station, the staff was very helpful and friendly, the room is small but clean and new, I enjoyed the massage service at the hotel as well.. it was really convenient to have that at the hotel after long day of walking around Tokyo. Also, the free Ramen service at 9:30pm was a great offer! I definitely come back to stay at Dormy Inn Premium next time I'll be in Tokyo.

Excellent”

Dormy Inn has always been my preferred choice when travelling to Japan and again I am pleased with their service. The staff are friendly, helpful and could communicate somewhat in English. One of them, I didn't get his name, was very kind and efficient. When I told him that there was a smell on the pillow case and that it may not have been changed, he immediately brought me to the 2nd level to select another pillow. The hot spring onsen was good with oranges in water giving off a nice scent. I enjoyed the breakfast with Japanese and western varieties, and the free noodles every night. The room was clean and the bed comfortable and I really felt at ease. The location of the hotel is close by to Harajuku, Omote-sande and Shibuya. Even the train stations are within walking distance from the hotel. I would certainly come back again.

Quality hotel with good breakfast, location, onsen”

Breakfast, location, and onsen

Like typical hotels in Tokyo, Dormy Inn was clean and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is located within walking distance to both Shibuya and Harajuku so made a great base for exploring both locations - you get the nightlife, shopping, and diversity of both areas. The onsen was good, and the breakfast options were great as well - they provide both western and japanese style meals. After 9 they also have a free noodle service for those of you who need something to eat before hitting up the bars!

A very pleasant hotel on an unassuming side street”

Location, Japanese bath, good design, pleasant staff

i took a risk staying in this hotel, as there was only one review available on the web when i booked my stay. i am delighted with this choice. travelers who need a posh hotel in in impressive location should stay away, because the dormy inn is next to the jr train tracks, on a tiny side street. but when you enter the hotel, it is most pleasant, brand new, with very welcoming staff, a delightful japanese bath and spa, and all the conveniences that make a stay enjoyable. room sizes start at 15 square meter, small but not unusual for tokyo, to much larger rooms, 36 square meters if i remember correctly. i would gladly go back and recommend it to my friends - and wish this hotel much success.

Great Stay”

Very pleasant stay. The room was clean and quite and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very helpful and spoke English quite well. The breakfasts were great. Although there were a lot of restaurants in the area as a solo traveler I found myself wishing they had an in-house restaurant when I was too tired to go out in the evening. I didn't use all of the facilities but I'm sure they were equally nice. The staff was able to make a reservation for a Narita airport bus that left from the Excel Hotel in the heart of Shibuya. The Dormy Inn has a free shuttle to the train station, from there it is a short walk to the tastefully understated entrance (think tricky to find) Excel Hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

Location, Cleanliness, Facilities

Impressed by the cleanliness. The rooms are very small (likewise to other hotels in Japan) but I had a comfortable stay. The pillow strained my neck during the first 1-2 nights but I later learned that there are free rental of premium pillows (different types of pillows - feather, bamboo etc). The location was good. I would stay at Dormy Inn again if I visit Tokyo. Worth every penny.

Superb hotel with an excellent service & location”

Location, spa, rooms and great service

We stayed at this hotel at three separate occasions in March 2012 and the hotel was newly opened so everything was very fresh and clean. The rooms are stylish but a little small as is usual in Tokyo hotels. The spa, wich is included in the room price, was fantastic. It has a hot bath, showers and a sauna. We also tried the massage wich was very good. The staff was beyond accommodating and very nice. The location is only about 7 minutes walk from Harajuku JR Station and very close to a subway station. It sits between Harajuku and Shibuya so you can easily walk to Shibuya. We loved it and we will return next time in Tokyo.
