Good hotel”

The Dormy Inns have been good hotels in my experience and this was no exception. Wakkanai is quite removed from the rest of Japan but the hotel upholds good standards. It is clean, the staff was helpful, the breakfast excellent (especially if you like Japanese breakfasts) and it is 7 minutes from the train station. The ofuro is good and laundry

A nice and affordable hotel”

The staff are nice, the location is near to JR, and there is an onsen at top of the hotel

The staff were very nice, they were very helpful, they tried their very best to solve the problems of the tourists. Besides it is near to the JR of Wakkanai, there are a lot of restaurants and different types of shops, e.g. dispensaies and super markets. I could shop like a local. After a day long activity, it was really cool to have a hot spring at top of the hotel. It seemed that I was enjoying a 5-star hotel service with the price of 3-star .

Best Hotel Ever Stayed In Japan”

Seriously no kidding, this is the best Hotel/Inn I've stayed after years of traveling around Japan. The room is HUGE even for a double bed room, not to mention the price is reasonable & really great staffs! The cleanliness of the room is like it's newly built, super clean! Not to mention it's very near to the station, about 3 mins walk. There's even a spacious Onsen on the top floor + free supper for the guests! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Wakkanai. Will come back and stay here again for longer days next time!!

Comfortable accommodation near JR Wakkanai ”

The guest rooms in Dormy Inn Wakkanai seems to be much more spacious than the other Dormy Inns I have stayed before. As usual, there’s the hot spring bath and the nightly complementary ramen supper! Besides getting there by JR train, we can also take the highway bus from O-dori bus center @ ¥6200, 6-hr journey.

Great free bath, great breakfast”

Free bath on the 10th floor; great Japanese breakfast buffet

I really enjoyed my stay at the Dormy Inn in Wakkanai. The room was decent, maybe a bit on the small side. But what really made my stay was the free bath on the 10th floor (three pools, one of them outdoors, plus a sauna) which was very clean and inviting, and the excellent Japanese breakfast buffet for 1500 Yen with lots of fresh seafood. On the negative side: Internet in the room had the tendency to interrupt every 20 minutes or so for a few seconds.

As far north as you can go”

loacated near train station

The Dormy Inn Wakkanai was a good place to stay. Compact tidy and clean room located a couple of minutes walk from the train station. Staff are friendly and there is free internet. There are quite a few restaurants nearby, though not much in the way of English menus, but pointing at pictures always works.

What a gem ”

Awesome location, 5 mins from JR Wakkanai station and a few choice restaurants right on the same street, walkable to all the attractions around station. Staff was very kind and allowed an early check in as room was ready. Explained all the details. Great rooftop onsen was clean and spacious and great views of the city and water. Ramen offered in the evening was a great nightcap. Breakfast selection was incredible and good quality. Double room we had was good size and room for luggage. Clean and everything is well kept

Probably the best option in Wakkanai”

The hotel is around 5 minutes walk from JR Wakkanai station and 10 minutes from Heartland ferry pier. The standard of this brand is great with onsen and night ramen. Restaurant right in front of the hotel seems very good. Food Market opposite of the station is best for eating on budget. Sapporo Drug Store is at the back of the hotel where you can buy all other stuffs.

Great view of Wakkanai, great food, amazing onsen.”

Next to JR train station, and close to ferry (10 min walk) for Rishiri/Rebun Islands. Breakfast was great. They also provided a late-night ramen meal for free. The onsen was my favourite, both and indoor onsen, outdoor onsen (great during the winter cold), and a sauna. Staff was very friendly and provided maps of Wakkanai.

Very close to Wakkanai station”

This hotel is a few minutes walk from Wakkanai station. It is surrounded by restaurants and bars and a short walk to the "city center" where they had a natsumatsuri and is about a 15mins walk to the ferry terminal for ferries to neighbouring islands. Rooms were modern and space is sufficient for 2 people. There was an onsen in the hotel for guests and also has a rotenburo. It can get quite crowded. This hotel also offers free soba at night for guests. We had a comfortable stay and could not complain. Would definitely stay there again.
