perfect location, fantastic service”
it was a fantastic experience staying at Doubletree by Hilton Chongqing. everything in this hotel is great with big shopping centres directly down the hotel and in nearby area. Breakfast food is also great. will definitely visit again.
Great location and services”
The hotel is located just beside the busiest shopping area in Chongqing, which is very convenient for hotel guests to tour around and not worried about getting lost. Services are good too. It is great value for money (considering that other poor-facility local hotels also charge a lot).
Since I often am in CQ on business, I have stayed here at least 20 nights since they opened. I can say with confidence they have improved tremendously since the early days. After all, they just opened a few months ago. Give them a break!! The breakfast staff care for guests is exceptional, especially the head women when you go in. They remember me and bring me Fresh Coffee. Management needs to give them a BIG raise and compliments! Food is a little naive, but, they will get it. Front desk was crazy at the beginning, but these days, all seems to have smoothed out. I am afraid to make this place too busy and not get a room. But I have to be honest about this hotel. They deserve recognition for very good service and care.
Very good hotel. Concierge staff was super friendly esp Edison, Joe & Frank. Edison helped us to arrange a tour for Wulong Three Natural Bridges. They are super efficient, good customer service and very professional. They also teach us how to go to cikigou town the next day. I strongly recomend this hotel to my friends and business buddies.
Expectations marginally met”
I have never stayed in a Doubletree before, so i had very low expectations of this booking right from the start (had to book it because client's staying in the same hotel). The cookie offered at check-in was a nice gesture, and the hotel isn't as shabby as i thought. The F&B really needs to buck-up though; my client's food orders were not good, and the mojito i had at the lobby lounge was terrible. Since it was just a short stay, i overlooked those aspects, and preferred to focus on the nice swimming pool, location (near to big malls with better food options) and staff (quite enthusiastic and warm). Overall, i don't think i will want to stay in a Doubletree again, if i have a choice; it's incredibly undifferentiated, and really has no substantial hook to justify another stay (in spite of the free upgrade to exec floor)
Quality hotel with great staff”
My stay was short but sweet. Staff were very helpful especially the receptionist (Mori Wang) and the conceirge team. The location is great for shopping and dining as there are lots of options nearby. I thoroughly enjoyed my short stay and highly recommend this hotel to business travellers in Chongqing.
My #1 Choice in Chongqing ”
The stay was great, good food, performance of the staff, good location, clean, we got good price though Agoda so value for money was great! It's one of the 2 best hotels in CQ for people like me - business travellers, looking for good and affordable 5 stars hotels, not far from the airport and the main business district (Yubei District)
Good location and friendly service staff”
The hotel is situated in a very good location, attached to a shopping mall with nearby access to several more within 5 minute walking distances. Overall, the general feel about the hotel was quite friendly and warm. Upon reaching the hotel, a mere 20 minute journey from the airport, the check-in process was a breeze, done in a quick 5 minutes process, there was even a welcome chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven for me! The staff spoke English relatively well and it was well easy to communicate with them. The room was a good size and had this warm and cosy feel to it. Most of the lights could be turned off with one switch, with the exception of the standing lamps and the curtains which had to be opened and closed manually. There is no bathtub if you're a soaker, the shower was good, although the pressure was quite weak and it took quite a bit for the water to warm up. Location wise, the street next to it is lined with noodle shops, the ChongQing famous spicy 'mala' hotpot restaurants and some other shops run by ethnic minorities. There are also the shopping malls with a huge range of restaurants. A multi plex cinema is also located nearby if you fancied catching a latest blockbuster. If you are a nocturnal traveler, the street located 2 streets away from the hotel comes alive at night. At midnight to be exact, this road is closed off to most vehicles and is lined with makeshift stalls selling food, snacks and little trinkets. A real bargain and eye opener, you can get skewered barbequed fish or squid here for as little as $5 rmb (approx $1 USD). Bargain with the vendors selling bracelets, dresses and shoes to get the best deals!
Great Value for Money if you are looking for 5*”
Great hotel, looks great, smells great, stuff's English is sufficient though you can get it better in Chongqing. Food is good, comfortable and comforting after a long business day. Highly recommended - I'm definitely taking it next time in CQ (soon)
Business hotel with no free wifi”
It can be much better if they provide free internet in guest room since that this is some sort of business hotel. And it will be much better if the staff can listen to their guests and not to charge for something the guests did not consume. I was charge for internet when they said it is free. Stupid hotel!
Great stay in general, next to shop malls.”
Normal. Not much of surprises with the price we pay. Deposit collected for RMB1250 per night even we have paid through Agoda. Small room and rather not matching some of the 5 star hotels in the same area. No wifi provided in the room.
Beautiful hotel in the heart of Chongqing”
We loved our stay at the Doubletree hotel. As expats that live in Chongqing, a group of us decided to get away for the evening. The rooms were not ready when we arrived, but they checked us into a room that had a large living room area for us to wait and eventually one of us stayed in that room for the night. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. At night, one of the staff called to ask what could make the stay even better. We jokingly said the only thing that could make it better would be more chocolate chip cookies. Five minutes later, a bellhop was bringing two more fresh, hot cookies to our door. Great stay in a beautiful part of the city!
Great Hotel in an excellent location”
we stayed in this hotel from october 1 to 5th. we really love it. the hotel is relatively new, the rooms and facilities are excellent. the staff are very friendly and always ready to help. the services are efficient and professional. the hotel location is in the new downtown north of the river (they call it the "river north district".) it has virtually everything, from good restaurants to upscale shopping department stores, and "walking streets" (pedestrian mall). unlike the old downtown which is located between the 2 rivers, here are much less traffic jams, much more greener and cleaner. in short, it is a very pleasant area to just walk around, do some shopping and eating!
Great location, expensive oasis in Chongqing”
Great rooms of good size; good location in guanyinqiao; service at front desk scrappy at best (a let down for a Hilton sub-brand); It's a good stay if you are travelling on a corporate expense account, else your dollar is better spent at a Holiday Inn. You have to pay a hefty sum for internet access, which frankly is a joke for Chinese hotels. I travel to China monthly and have stayed in all sorts of Chinese hotels from international chains to local motels. Even the budget 168 motels and local hotels give free internet access, if not wifi in rooms. A Hilton ought to do better in this regard -- don't sweat the small money and risk irritating loyal customers. Why should I pay RMB120 for internet access when I am paying US for a room?
Hotel with friendly staff and qualty facilities”
we checked in at midnight. The staff comlpeted the check in rocedure very quickly and we got complimentary cookies. The western style cookies were warm, fresh and tasty. I can imagine how much effort the hotel put in to provide us this lovely welcome feeling. Should it be closer to the airport, we'll stay at the hotel again even just for an overnight stopover. The 2nd morning, we gt a free map from a staff and after he checked my avaiable time, he recommended sightseen spots for us. Breakfast wasn't included but you can find McDonanld or local restaurant within short walking distance.
Cozy and comfortable one”
Quite impressed to have a very delicous cookie upon arrival. My room has been upgraded automaticlly and all staff is very nice
nice stay in centre of Chongqing”
stayed over there with business partner for two nights, staff was nice, room was well equipped, good business hotel in city centre, its not so close the airport as they indicate
I would stay here again
I would stay here again
