Perfect Vacation!”

At first I was nervous that my husband, son and I would be staying in Chinatown but the price was good so I took a chance. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was. I was worried because other reviewers on TripAdvisor said it was outdated, dirty, and front desk staff unpleasant, but that wasn't the case at all. Our room and bathroom were clean. The only issue we had was the toilet wouldn't flush on our second day there, however the problem was solved very quickly. I called the front desk to let them know and the maintenance staff arrived within ten minutes. It didn't take him long to figure out what was wrong and the malfunctioning part was replaced within fifteen minutes. The location of the hotel was wonderful! There is a subway stop nearby but we found we were within walking distance to everything we wanted to do. We ate in the restaurant on two occasions and the food was delicious. Do not hesitate in booking this hotel, we are glad we did.

Steps away from the metro. Our room had EVERYTHING we needed, mini fridge, microwave, iron w/board, safe, coffee maker, hair dryer... nice. TV reception was spotty on some channels but that was not important to us.

Nice hotel”

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel, the only thing I didn't like about it is that there is no hotel parking, there is a parking literally outside the hotel but they charge $53 dlls per day which is kinda pricey when you already paid for the staying. Other than that I'm happy.

Fine, but not amazing”

My kids love a hotel pool but while they kindly provide you complimentary access to an adjoining YMCA pool the policies there were such that my kid could only swim in about 20% of one lane, wear a swimming cap, and a life vest. Would have rather just had a normal hotel pool.

Never Again ”

Unless you want to spend unnecessary money, do not book this hotel. I have stayed at Doubletree before this and had a good experience, but this by far was the worst hotel experience in life. Parking is $45.00 per night and your parking spot is not guaranteed. WiFi is not included, although it’s advertised to be included (only includes the lobby). I have traveled throughout the US and numerous other countries and I have never had to pay for WiFi. If you want your room cleaned, you must request it due to COVID, which I understand but what I don’t understand is that this wasn’t mentioned to me when checking in. The experience was so awful, we decided to leave a day earlier. Never again.

Excellent start of my holidays”

- right in the middle of Boston (in walking distance to Boston Commons -> Start of Freedom trail) - 3 min to the "T-Line" (Subway) - very friendly and helpful staff - nice bar with a good selection of food (in case of late arrival -> closed restaurants)
-

The stay at Doubletree Boston Downtown was an excellent start of a very nice holiday in the US for us. It's situated very close to the Boston Commons (public park) and a "T-Line" station (Subway). The staff was very helpful in helping me find a running course close to the hotel and recommended a very nice restaurant close-by (Jacob Wirth). Room was clean, tv had a lot of channels and the bath was big. Internet access at the public computers was fast. We arrived pretty late in the evening and couldn't find a restaurant close-by that still served hot food so we resorted to the hotel bar and were served some excellent food. The atmosphere at the bar was nice, too. I totally recommend this hotel for people new to Boston since they are right in the city and can begin to explore that fantasic location on their own easily. In case I will ever go back to Boston (which is likely since I fell in love with this city) the Doubletree Boston Downtown would be my first pick.

Awesome location”

very central location, fabulously comfortable bed

This hotel was very central to all the major attractions. Boston common and public gardens, theatres, multiple subway options, superb restaurants and shops were all within a 10 minute walk. Staff were helpful. They give you amazing cookies on arrival just to really make you feel like you are in the states. We loved the king size bed for size and comfort and the extremely soft pillows added to the great nights sleep. The hotel was clean and serviced daily to a great standard. Only complaint would be that the pool is part of a YMCA complex (not really the hotel) and is over run with children's swimming classes. Luckily we had great air conditioning to get a break from the heat.

located within a minute walk from the train system, double tree hotel just met my expectation regarding it's staff and cleanliness. i gave 5/10 for atmosphere. i thought the in-room furniture and carpet might have been used for very long long time which i didn't like them at all. gym and fitness room for guests were actually at ymca (a block away from the hotel) was a rip-off. i was invoiced for logging-on the hotel's internet for both my laptop and smartphone usage in the same room for the same night for $24.8. this matter was absolutely unacceptable for me (and had to 'talk to them' to revise the policy). among 3 hotels in boston that i stayed for 6 nights in total for this trip, i rated double tree, the most expensive one, the 3rd. 'not recommend'.
