smart hotel in good central location.”
we have used this hotel a couple of times now for trips to ministry of sound london. the hotel is situated literally just round the corner form tower hill tube station so, is really easy to travel to & from by any means. i would shop around for good deals as hotel prices in london are outright absurd otherwise! 24 hour service is perfect, you can come & go as you please no matter what time you float out the club! rooms are a decent size, basic complimentary facilities provided as expected with options to upgrade further at the usual hotel costs. ac is standard as is free wifi. beds are very comfortable & best of all, the rooms have an actual real opening window that allows you to let in fresh air instead of being permanently air conditioned - a choice that's becoming quite a rarity in today's h&s obsessed, can't trust people with a window "american stupidity" inspired world! shower & wc facilities are good quality & clean. depending on where you are in the hotel you get great views across london including some of the most iconic land marls such as tower bridge & tower of london.
great location 2 minute walk to the tube”
The hotel was awesome and in a great location. It was a 2 minute walk to the Tube (district an circle lines)and above ground rail. A 5 minute walk to Tower of London and Tower Bridge 10 minutes to Borough Market. The room was a nice size, we were upgraded upon arrival and it very clean. The girlfiend and I really loved the MAC computer and free WiFi in the room it was great for keeping in contact with family back in Scotland an Canada. We didn't eat in the hotel but we found a great little cafe a 5 minute walk from the hotel (mounument tube st) was great for breakie and all sorts of other shops. I can't say enough about the hotel great value for money. It was the 3rd time I've stayed in London in the last 15 months and by far the best the best experience. Oh I didn't mention the view from the rooftop patio absolutely stunning. I would stay there again or at another hotel in the chain. I have stayed in 6 different cities in Europe in the last 2/12 years and by far the best quality and value. The only issue was we stayed Sat-Tues and there was a construction site nearby so on the Mon-Tues it was alittle loud in the morning as our window was open. It sereved as our wakeup call LOL !!!
Awesome Hotel”
A very new and modern hotel right next door to the tower of london and london tower bridge. The reception staff were very friendly helpful and even gave out a warm cookie on arrival (much appreciated after the travelling). We were given a choice of rooms and floor. The room was large, very clean, very new and had an Apple TV and free wifi. All in all a perfect stay at a very reasonable price and will be using this and other doubletree hotels again!
Very nice & comfortable staying at Hilton”
It was very nice staying at this hotel because the room is very clean, bright and big. The Wifi is free and fast then I can whatsapp with my friends and family immediately though there is a iMac provided in the room. The hotel is close to the Tower Hill Tube station, just 4 minutes walk, the little van outside the Tube selling the hot dog is delicious. The Tower of London, Thames River Boat Pier and London bridge are just opposite to the hotel with walking distance, and a little shopping centre in basement (with a sign of KFC) located at the entrance of the Tower of London near the traffic light, there are some small restaurants and souvenir shops, the fish and chip there is yummy. It's conventient to anywhere from this hotel, and to Paddington Station for the Heathrow Express in the same tube line.
A great hotel located near London Tower”
Very good location. The Tower of London, The Tower Bridge, and the underground station are within walking distance. Breakfast is great and you can have pretty nice British-style breakfast. I think that is why the place is a little bit crowded. The bed is great. I feel very comfortable. The bathroom is great too. The room is big enough so that you can open two large luggages on the floor. They have an interesting iMAC that can allow you to watch TV or to browse internet. I think it is better than having a TV. The staffs are very nice, efficient, and helpful. BTW, you have to go to the SKYLOUNGE to have a drink and enjoy the beautiful night view of the Tower Bridge and The Shard. Overall it is a wonderful place to stay. It is totally worthy. Highly recommended. The underground station has a lift for eastbound train and another lift for the westbound train. When compared to other underground stations, this station is quite convenient. However, please be advised that you need to figure out which direction you are going to and take the correct lift to the platform. If you are on the wrong platform, the only way to change the platform is by stairs.
Great service - highly recommended”
staff were professional and courteous at all times. room not large but contained everything we could need. impressed by bottle of wine and fruit bowl because we were celebrating 10th anniversary. really good nights' sleep - no noise, comfortable bed, airconditioned room. breakfast good - long queue on saturday but managed well with orange juice and pastries passed out with a smile and apology for the delay. location ideal for towe of london and the city but perfectly good for seeing around london given proximity to tower hill tube station.
Contemporary with all the modern amenities.”
I have travelled to London on a few occasions and most hotels I have stayed in are old, and their sheets and towels have a moldy feel to them. This time I chose something newer and a little farther away from central London but still accessible by the tubes. It turned out to be everything I had hoped for. Although, a business hotel, It offers the guests all the conveniences and more. Every room has high speed internet connection, and an I mac which doubles as the room TV. Rooms are modern albeit a tad small, but good enough for a couple. Location is great as the Underground is a 3 minutes walk and The Tower of London is right next to the station. A short walk across the London bridge and you will be on the South bank which is the latest hip area to be in, with all its cool restaurants, marketplaces, and the Tate Modern.
very close to underground and safe”
Hotel is location is superb. 3min walk to Towerhill underground station which is on the Circle(Yellow) and District(Green) Line, where all the major attraction stays. Get an oyster card and you can go anywhere you want. Walking distance to Tower of London and Tower Bridge. This area is very safe. Hotel has a nice rooftop bar. Shower was fantastic. An IMAC is provided in the room. You can use it as TV or computer. Hotel is able to keep for you the luggage at no price. Generally very nice stay. Check-in chocolate cookies was very nice. Will come back again.
I loved this hotel!”
If your planning on riding the Tube...the station is less than a block away. This is a newer hotel, so it doesn't have a musty smell which some older hotels in London tend to have. Each room also has a huge Mac computer which you can use as your TV as well. The staff was very helpful. The best part is just blocks away from the Tower Bridge and Tower of London. I would recommend this hotel to families and couples.
Returning stay. Thumbs up.”
Our returning stay after 5 days in York and Manchester. Luggage was safely kept by the hotel. No complains. To all readers out there. If you want hotel which is good in location, safe, nice resturant around. Stay in Tower of London by Hilton.
Decent hotel in good location!”
A very good hotel a stone's throw from the Tower of London. Helpful staff helped us upgrade to a room, which gave an excellent view of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were clean and of decent size - the bed was firm and cosy! The breakfast the following day was varied and had something for everyone. All in all a fine stay!
Superb”
We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded and given executive lounge access upon check-in. The Double Tree by Hilton brand has since become our "yardstick" in terms of hotel accommodation since our stay at DTBH Tower of London.
Quality Hotel at midrange price”
We booked for two nights and the Hotel lived up to it 4star rating, with exceptional staff who were very knowledgeable with great customer skills, the hotel was situated in Tower Hill about a 1 minute walk from the Tower of London with a tube station only a one minute walk away, so from our point of view it added up to a perfect trip to London
Great Location , great staff”
definitely a great buy, the hotel is brand new, the staff is very friendly and courteous. my booking didn't show in their list but they managed the situation perfectly and checked me in and asked questions later. great location, just by the tower of london and very close to the underground.
loved it”
we loved it got upgraded and offered free breakfast. next to underground and across road to tower of london and the Thames. Has the best rocking bar on the roof with unbelievable views of london and london bridge and the city.
Excellent Location but not so good service during Christmas”
It's a nice location to stay as it's not far from the tube and situated near to Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Thus, on Christmas day, as there was no public transportation in operation, we could enjoy a nice walk after the Christmas service at a nearby church, passing by the St Mary's Axe, Monument, London Bridge to the southwark having photo taking and then back to the hotel through Tower bridge. The hotel also has a warm greetings that we were given nice warm chocolate welcome cookies when we arrived and we could pick one whenever we want although we didn't pick again. Besides, I found them put a jar of mulled wine with paper cups around the corner of front desk at Christmas day. As we picked the room with executive lounge, we entitled the lounge access. We have been arranged to a far corner room without any view at all which I don't really like personally. As the room was newly refurbished, it's decent but seems like a 3-star hotel room more. The most unacceptable thing was the lounge service. The hotel was nice to allow us to stay at the lounge before we check-in as we very early in the morning. I've known that the lounge is quite small but it's okay while not too many people. However, as it's closer to Christmas time, during the evening canapes, the lounge became crowder and crowder. On 24th-26th, the lounge had been looking like a refugee camp with snacks and drinks running out. We understand it's holiday in UK but it's unacceptable for the hotel not to keep enough stocks and there was a lack of lounge staff, not able to refill the food and tidy up the dishes. I did to tidy up the table with my husband by ourselves. I think the lounge is not so bad always but really in poor service during Christmas time. I hope the hotel could improve this aspect.
Superb hotel in a great location”
Great hotel located very close to Tower Bridge, St Katherines and the City of London. We didn't try the food as we ate out (which is why I gave a score of 3 for the food/dining) and there are is a wide choice of restaurants only a few minutes away. Also located very close to the Thames with a great walking route. Would definitely recommend.
Welcome, pleasant and relaxing.”
our stay have been very pleasant. we enjoy the warm welcome cookie and the spacious and comfortable room. staff was very helpful and friendly and assist us with all our queries in a friendly manner. the hotel is close to subway and buses which is a plus. it is also close to tower bridger and the tower of london.
Brilliant hotel, great location , ”
we had a really pleasant stay at the doubletree hilton london bridge. the staff were so friendly and helpful. really clean and comfortable and would stay here again in a heartbeat .
Comfortable rooms and close to tower bridge”
We got a great deal (partly by redeeming reward points/cash) for the last few days of December. We would have stayed for NYE as well (the Sky lounge would have offered a great view over both city and fireworks) however, the deal worked best for two nights and the hotel was too pricey the last night of the year. All very nice, friendly staff, comfy room, modern and clean. we didn't eat there so I can't say anything about that. Close to Tower Bridge and Tower hill tube. Dinner and coffee shops close by as well.
