Good value for money for central NYC”
One of the most affordable NYC hotels that is centrally located, hard to find. However, it was disappointing that the room did not have a fridge which would have been useful to store cold drinks given how hot it was while I was in NYC. It seems this is quite normal in a lot of the hotels in the US and Canada unless you're staying at the really expensive hotels. Overall, a pleasant stay.

Room service aweful”
They would try multiple times to come into your room for room cleaning. They would make noise shaking the door towards the physical lock and I have no idea why they would do such a thing.

if only the equipment”
Mid Town East, Lex/51 is #6 subway station, the perfect location for all traveller King room is spacious and cleaning is satisfactory everyday Only two things I did not like are the fixed shower (no hose) and old-fashioned uncontrollable air conditioner Demarco, next door cafe, sells the best coffee in the city and helps make my hotel stay more confortable :-)

A nice hotel located in the enter of NYC”
We came to for the Christmas. The hotel is in the midtown within walking distance to many attractions such as the Central Park, the Time square etc. We do want to come back again.

Disappointing”
The hotel is in a good location - that's the only upside. The staff was not friendly or outstanding in customer service, just did the job with no smile and they did not seem to care about if you're truly comfortable or not. They just wanted to check you in and out. Although the complimentary warm baked cookie they give you at the check in desk was delicious, that was a nice touch. I left my one carryon-sized luggage and the bellboys charged me $2. $1 for leaving it there and $1 when I pick it back up - what hotel does this??? Why??! I arrived at 11am, too early to check in because checkin time is quite late (3pm) so I had no choice but to leave my luggage. It was NY Marathon weekend so staff was swamped and maybe understaffed, I get that, but the employees could be a little more friendly. They put me in a handicapped room - don't know why but I assume they were out of rooms and small potatoes like me (one person staying one night) got shafted with a handicapped room next to the noisy elevator and people walking by, the front door was all white like a custodian's door compared to all the other normal fancy wooden doors. The shower fixtures were not even on tight so water flow was terrible - like it barely came out so I didn't take a thorough shower. The drain did not drain the water so I had to figure it out for 10 mins before showering, after realizing that there's nothing I could do about it except take a quick rinse and get out. There was dust on a lot of surfaces. I think the room is often neglected to be cleaned because not a lot of people stay in it since it's handicapped. Come on, you should always maintain each of your hotel rooms. And that room is for handicapped people?! I feel like they do not care to upkeep those rooms, kinda discriminatory for people who are actually handicapped and have to stay there. I don't like that Double Tree tries to appear as a luxury hotel that is comfortable and outstanding. It's pricey so it seems like you're staying at a 5 st
