Great stay with great breakfast!”

Wonderful stay at the Doubletree Downtown Philadelphia. It is right along the road to city hall. We also walked to the independence hall/liberty hall for around 20 minutes from the hotel. Room was spacious for a family of 4 with a very lovely view. Front desk would ask for your contact number and you can just message them whatever you need for your room. The best of all was the fantastic breakfast. It has an egg station wherein the chef cooks the eggs in any way you want with whatever ingredient you choose. And there was so much bacon, bread, muffins and cereal. Amenities were good, soaps and lotions were by Crabtree and Evelyn. Beds were soft and clean. Staff were always willing to help. Overall, we had a great stay.

Best hotel stay I have ever had !!!!”

The staff is what makes all the difference they are there to help with a smile every day from the janitors to the people running the food they all look like they enjoy there job and it shows in there kind attitude. The location can NOT be beat it is close to everything and feels really safe. The rooms are beautiful and clean and the beds are even comfortable. The warm chocolate chip cookies are divine. The whole experience has been way over my expectations it will be the only place I stay when I come to Philadelphia .

Hotel is okay”

The hotel is okay. Right at the center of Philly. Checked in and out was fast. Service was just okay compare to the hotels i had stayed in Asian Countries. Requested for umbrella but the concierge guy told me they don’t have. No toothbrush and toothpaste in the room. We had to request it. No water complimentary. No wifi at first. You still need to register as a member to get the free wifi. Will recommend the place due to location.

Don't Get Scammed”

Everything was perfect except one major flaw. Upon arriving to the hotel, it turned out hotel parking wasn't free. It was $30 per overnight. If under 12 hours, it's $19. I accepted that hit to my wallet and parked my car at 11:45pm. So I think, I should check out by 11am to be safe. Checking in, I paid $149 on Agoda. The lady at check-in told me they're going to charge me $245.50 I asked, how did the price get so high? I agreed to $149 online. She said it was $195+$50 deposit. I said, no that's incorrect. please check it again. Sure enough, she glances at her computer and in less than a minute, says Oh I'm sorry, you're right. Proceeds to charge me $149. Breakfast is supposed to be free (included). When I go to the lobby to pickup the meal stubs, the same lady tells me we have to pay $30 each. there's two of us. I say, no, the deal says free breakfast. Without even looking at her computer, she says, Oh you're right. Then proceeds to hand over our stubs. Upon checkout, the same lady says parking will be $30 and card isn't accepted. We tell her we're pretty sure it's $19 but we'll see when we pay. I drive my car out, the lady at the ticket booth immediately says $30 but it was only 10:50am. I tell her, look at the clock in time, she says Oh you're right, proceeds to charge us the right amount of $19. Moral of the story, know exactly what you paid for and what's included. These people seem to do it with everyone in hopes of getting away with it.

They do an ok job but just to remind folks that if you book through Agoda or any other third party, Hilton do not give you the points on your Honors account, they will also charge you $10 a day for wifi (usually free) and charge for local calls. Petty. I would not stay at any Hilton group hotel again.

Excellent location ”

The hotel was extremely busy, we were a bit early so had to wait a while for our room. We went to the bar to wait, bar tender very pleasant. Our room was situated between the lift shaft. It had been refurbished ,and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. But as the room was an odd shape there seemed to be too much furniture in the room and didn’t seem to flow. Bathroom was adequate. Coffee maker in the room. We were on 23 floor so had excellent views. Didn’t like paying 30dollars a night for self parking!

very near the city hall, and other sites to visit. Front lobby staff from the doorman to the receptionist were not so warm and welcoming. The lady at the concierge was very energetic and helpful though. I would choose another hotel next time as most of hotels in the area are very accessible to tourist spots. Centrally located but pricey for its quality.”

location, cleanliness

Best thing is the location. Just a 3-minute walk to City Hall and a 7-minute walk to the Reading Terminal Market. Walking another 15 minutes or so will get you to Independence Hall. The room is clean but nothing luxurious. Staff polite but no particular impression. Concierge desk was helpful in finding restaurants though. Room wi-fi comes at a $10 charge in this era, though free in the lobby.

location, quiet room, clean

I was on at the hotel for one evening. The room was clean and nice, the staff were efficient, and the location was ideal. I could do without the 10 dollar charge for a day of WiFi and lack of finding a continental breakfast were the only drawbacks, albeit minor.

Good but could be better”

The location is great and the room was clean and modern. However, no body wash was provided - only soap - and cleaners didn't replenish toiletries once finished. Bathrooms were dingy too with dated features. Additionally, WiFi is $14.95 - charging for WiFi is completely unacceptable in a hotel that is already not cheap. Staff were generally good although some just glowered and never smiled. Overall a decent hotel but needs to improve for the amount of money that they charge.

Very disappointed with our stay. Our room was right near the elevator and heard it all night long. This room should never be assigned to guests ever. We tried to change rooms because we need a good night sleep as we had just been on a flight for 20 hours. Should have received a better room because we booked months in advance. The Hilton chain really le me down :(
