Perfect hotel for NYC Marathon”
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It is located just a few feet from the Whitehall Street subway station and just 3 blocks from the Staten Island (South) Ferry Terminal. There is a pharmacy around the block, a Chipotle across the street and a Starbucks a block away. The rooms are small but this is normal for New York. The rooms look new and clean with the usual amenities (TV, safe, iPhone dock alarm clock, coffee machine) and lots of lighting. The staff is amazing and very courteous and helpful. The only thing about this hotel we did not like was that the elevators are very slow during peak hours, with only 3 elevators servicing 40 floors. In some cases we had to wait up to 6-8 minutes for an elevator. Fortunately, we requested a room on a lower floor so that we could take the stairs if we were in a hurry. Otherwise, this is a wonderful hotel and we would gladly stay here again in the future.
Great Hotel and service”
Although one of our rooms was not what we paid for or told we were getting by the booking company (You), this was down to the booking company, not the hotel, but the hotel did everything they could on their end to make our stay as great as possible. This is a 3 star hotel with 4 star and 5 star service. I travel a lot and do a lot of reviews so know what to expect from hotels at 4 and 5 star. The room was always tidy and the bed comfortable. The rooms were what you would expect in any financial district and not small at all but ours was big enough to accommodate two people. A bit of advice is if booking for two people, go for a kingsize room if they can share a big bed together as cheaper than the double bed room we booked (and did not get thanks to the booking company). Suggest you book with hotel direct as better service and get what you pay for and matter can be dealt with straight away. If you carry medical supplies and need a fridge, stay somewhere else as no mini fridge in room.
Good business hotel”
Would prefer to have stayed in midtown. Or maybe near Fulton street in downtown (two subway stops away) there are a lot more food options near Fulton street. This hotel is good for the Staten Island ferry and close to subway stations (red, green and yellow lines) so it makes getting around New York easy. Not much to see in this area and lots of traffic in the morning and evening as people are getting to and from work. Midtown would be a better option but the area was clean, safe, quiet (except for the honking of cars) and no rats or roaches so that was great.
Great stay in Manhattan”
Stayed here for a weekend and my wife and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It's located close to a few subway lines which makes it easy to get to different locations in the city. Rooms are small but expected for downtown, stay was friendly. The warm cookies on check in were a nice touch.
Staff at reception were not nice - very unfriendly Doormen and bell boys were very nice and greeting. only 2-3 elevators for 30 plus floors - and one is out of service all the time. Great location to explore the area. Window are not soundproof - could hear a lot of New York. Wireless was down on our floor, so had to move to another floor - staff did not tell while checking in. 10 STARS FOR THE FRONT DOOR GUYS
The receptionist is super helpful. ”
My friend forgot her bag included wallet, all $ and passport in the taxi and we didnt have contact of the taxi driver. Tina, the receptionist is super helpful by calling around and manage to get the taxi company and help to communicate with people in order to get our stuff back. We got the the bag back finally. Thank u Tina
Great value, great location and convenient”
This hotel was much better than we expected as it had been very good value. Room was spacious and quiet with everything you would need. The area surprised us with lively bars, live music venues, coffee shops and a great Irish pub next door with $5 happy hour 4-8pm. Staff were friendly and the location was within easy reach of several subway lines with one right opposite. We were really pleased with our choice.
Good location & quality”
I like the location of the hotel where there are several metro stations and close to the free ride of Staten Ferry. There are loads of restaurants and food trucks nearby. The room is definitely high quality, nice bed. There's 2 things which could improve ie waiting time at elevator and flexibility for late checkout. I had to pay full price just because I want to check out at 6pm.
+: hotel was clean and for the price paid, very value for money. courteous front-desk staff too. -: room is small, and property had only 2-3 elevators which is pretty time-consuming when waiting during peak hours.
Perfect NY Stay”
This was a very nice hotel. The staff was pleasant, the rooms were clean and it was located near a lot of restaurants. Would recommend this place to my friends and family.
Great location, nice rooms but noisy.”
the rooms were nice and clean but very noisy. i can literally hear next room's conversation! housekeeping lady also tends to knock on everyone's door at 9 am - ending waking up the whole floor. there's really not enough elevators for the whole building. you're screwed if you're in the middle floor as most elevators will be full by the time that it gets to your floor.
NEAR WALL STREET, Battary Park and One world trade center”
Pro. Near wall street, Battart park and oneworld trade center with many subway line to access other place Con. I use 30 minute to mid of NYC ( time square, central park, 5th av.) In summary this hotel the location is fine for some people to looking for hotel around lower manhatton and depend on your plan. For Breakfast not include in hotel cost and if you need they has 2 choice 1. A la cart cost 23 us 2. Buffet cost is 25 us. In my opinion the cost is very hight compare with qaolity of choice of food. Ps.near hotel have many resturant choice susc as Flavor, cafe grummy stabucks and luk's lobster.
Great except for one small thing!”
This place is great in a lot of ways; Location, cleanliness and the staff is incredible. The only thing I recommend is getting a room on a lower floor so you can use the stairs. The elevators take forever. Everything else was wonderful!
Safe location and not noisy”
Surprised by the serenity inside the hotel. The restaurant took too long to get a desert order through.
Great location and friendly staff”
Fantastic location in the middle of financial area.
Perfect bed ”
This hotel was perfect for a weekend in lower manhattan Bed was amazing! But overpriced. On Sunday night it's worth nothing there are by many food options in the business district - most close. Staff were ok an lifts terrible Only 2 lifts for 40 floors.
Good Location, wonderful staff, although we had to transfer to a different hotel on the 1st day of check-in, there was no hassle at all.
I had to change room the 2nd night and I was sent to an occupied room/wrong room. My roommates who had already change rooms left a msg requesting the front desk to inform me of the room number. This was not done and the staff on duty on the evening of 18th of Nov spend 45 mins trying to get me a room. I requested the front desk staff to pass an envelope to my friends who were leaving at 5 am next morning and the 2 ladies at the reception on 20th Nov @ 9pm had excuses after excuses and told me that they cannot be responsible etc etc. Very unprofessional and unfriendly. The entrance to the hotel has no ambience, very dull and boring. Does not give you the feeling of the Hilton Hotel.
Don’t stay here ”
The hotel was dated , the lifts were slow the breakfast was absolutely shocking ! No choice at all. Our room was tiny ,the shower leaked and we was very disappointed at the standard to say it was a Hilton.
Generally good hotel if a bit expensive. Needs better lifts though. On check out day waited 30 minutes for a space in a lift to go downstairs but full everytime. Eventually walked down 19 floors with my bags.
