As a rising Dubai district, Business Bay is still under construction. The project continues, and this is quickly becoming one of the city’s leading business and entertainment districts, with five-star shopping options and a few glamorous luxury hotels in Dubai.
The district is named after an actual body of water, but the centerpiece is the Burj Khalifa. While it was under construction, the world knew this tower as the ‘Burj Dubai’, but its name was modified when it officially opened in 2010. At 828 meters, this is easily the world’s tallest manmade structure.
In the shadow of Burj Khalifa is Dubai Mall, which opened in 2008 with well over 1,200 shops inside. On top of shopping, it offers outstanding entertainment facilities, including an ice-skating rink, Sega Republic theme park and the world-class Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo.
Bay Square is one of the nicest places to get out and explore. This is a pedestrian-friendly community with canals, cafés and a range of small businesses. Retailers will also be found on Bay Avenue and in the Executive Towers when these are finished.
Overall, accommodation in Business Bay is plush and sophisticated, and these hotels cater to a mix of up-market tourists, business travelers and just about anyone who wants a first-hand look at what’s new in the ultra-modern metropolis of Dubai.
