Comfy and ideally located guesthouse in Thamel”
I spent a lovely four nights in this cozy, peaceful sanctuary just outside the hustle and bustle of Thamel. The staff was absolutely lovely and did everything they could for me; guests here are in very good hands! The breakfast is of good quality and variety and the restaurant is reasonably priced for other meals. The location is flawless; it's less than 5 minutes walking distance to all of the shopping, dining, and nightlife of Thamel and yet nestled away down a quiet alleyway just out of earshot from the madness. Plugs (and therefore air conditioning) do not work during loadshedding periods but you'll have 24-hour lights, hot and cold water, and relatively fast internet. I have seven years of experience as a travel agent and a preference for luxury travel, and Dream Nepal Hotel and Apartment exceeded my expectations in every way.
The friendliest hotel in Thamel!”
I know it's a big call, but I think this has to be the friendliest hotel in Thamel. It's staff are the best. They cheerily greet you whenever they see you and are extremely helpful. The location of the hotel perfect. It is just far back enough from the strip to be quiet, but close enough to be still in the thick of everything. Value for money: check! Fast WiFi: check! Hot shower with good pressure: check! Clean: check! And the breakfast is fantastic too. Dream Nepal became my home away from home in Kathmandu, and when I return to Kathmandu I'll be staying here
Great central place to stay”
I stayed in Dream Nepal Hotel & Apartment for 7 nights. Located in Thamel inside an alley, this hotel was quiet and away from the noisy main roads. Staff were polite, attentive and very helpful for anything that I needed. My room was spacious and clean. Definitely would stay again and highly recommended for anyone looking for a short or long stay in Kathmandu.
We had a wonderful time!”
Staying in Dream Nepal Hotel was a pleasant experience. We booked for a suite but since the guests who were supposed to check out of the suite intended for us were stuck in some mountain place on that day (and were not able to come back), we were given an apartment in lieu of a suite for the same price! So we stayed in the apartment for six days -- big room with our own kitchen, refrigerator, stove and kitchen utensils. It was a nice gift from the hotel. The only downside was that there is a construction going on beside it (a three-star hotel is being built), and so there was so much noise during the day. But the construction work would stop at about 9 in the evening and so we still had good sleep.
Staff were amazing and made my stay memorable”
From the moment I walked through the door the staff made the chaos that is Kathmandu fade into insignificance. Nothing was too much trouble. I was upgraded to an apartment on arrival and after a week of trekking and white water rafting, this was certainly appreciated! The apartment was spacious, clean and the beds extremely comfortable. I made the mistake of not carrying a hotel card with me when I was out shopping and when I had trouble finding my way back, the taxi drivers and rickshaw drivers were of no help..take a card!!! I would highly recommend Dream Nepal..a little difficult to find but worth the effort!
Central but away from Noise”
I stayed 3 times at this hotel in 4 weeks, Very attentive staff. Double booked our room the 1st visit but easily found us another if not better hotel for us and carried our 4 very heavy bags through Thamel for us, This is Kathmandu afterall and often happens as travellers don't turn up- I forgave them as they were so helpful, offering to move us back the next day but as we were settled we stayed in the other hotel. 2Happily stored luggage for us whilst we trekked- no problem and safe. Large room on side street away from Hustle of Thamel- No early morning shop shutters to wake you up ! No dogs barking all night. Close to Gaia's restaurant- booking advised in season. Breakfast room slightly dark and dingey and food average as fruit salad/ jam/ cereal open to flies but covered tureens of eggs, sausages, potato. Some building going on at adjacent hotel at back but as I had a front room i didnt hear the noise but suggest you ask for a front room. Overall good value,OK- it hasnt gardens to sit in or large entrance lounges etc but for cleanliness and friendliness and value it's excellent. Always hot water, clean large rooms, very helpful staff- Would choose this hotel again next year
Clean, comfortable hotel in good location”
I recommend the Dream Hotel as a clean and comfortable place to stay in a good location in Kathmandu. The staff treat you like royalty and they will organise your driver, sightseeing, scenic flight to Everest etc. Visitors can walk from the Hotel only a few blocks to the many shopping and eating establishments in Thamel. We had a delicious vegetarian curry in the Hotel's restaurant.
Nice location, good staff”
The Dream hotel is on a quiet street near the fine Gaia restaurant and two minutes from the chaos of downtown Thamel. We enjoyed it as our base of operations before and after an Everest area trek. The staff and service were outstanding and the Internet adequate. We were unable to fly out of Lukla for three days and each afternoon, the staff found us accomodation when our plans changed. The breakfast buffet is large and the kitchen will do special orders. We had already made our trek plans, but saw many other customers use their convenient travel office. We were happy to sleep and dream!
lovely hotel, great location, good showers”
we had a great stay at the hotel with two deluxe rooms. the showers were powerful and hot (not granted in Nepal). the room was made up whenever requested and the included breakfast was decent. the location is very nice as it is off the main streets but still in walking distance to everything in Thamel. all in all we had a great time at Dream Nepal and greatly enjoyed our stay.
Good value hotel”
Pros: +Staff very friendly +Conveniently located near to all shopping and attractions while being secluded enough to be away from the noise of the streets +I had the studio apartment which has a separate kitchen and a comfortable living space attached to the bedroom area +the restauarant and staff are very accomodating Cons: -I made my booking on agoda and when I checked in they gave me a room downgraded from the apartment I had reserved (with the assurance that my apartment would be ready the next day). I'm not sure that they realized the inconvenience that this was to me since I had been hotel hopping and travelling for a while and really wanted to unpack and settle in for my week long reservation. They offered me a free dinner as consolation. I would have preferred the room that I reserved. They explained that there was a mix up in booking with agoda. So I recommend that you call them to confirm your reservation before arriving. -When I was checking out the young lady asked me to pay additional hotel taxes of 24%. This had already been included in my payment to agoda but was not reflected on the receipt. I believe it was an honest administrative mistake but I wonder how many others have ended paying the taxes twice. Overall I think that the staff need to sort some things out administratively and to realize that switching rooms is VERY VERY unacceptable. Despite this, I would highly recommend staying there. It still turned out to be a really pleasant experience at a fairly affordable price.
Thumbs up to this hotel. Excellent service and hospitality. Good location away from noisy traffic.”
Its pros all the way. My husband and I had a 16 hour bus journey from interior nepal and upon arriving at the hotel at 9 a.m , we were immediately accommodated although check in is after 12. Big room with comfortable bed and hot shower. Our request for breakfast was fulfilled without cost though not included in the day's package. Staff Neeraj, Bimal, Kanchan and Bobby were extremely pleasant and took care of our every needs. A short walk out and Fusion Kitchen Restaurant serves great food. We enjoyed our 2 nights stay at this hotel and will definitely make this our choice another time. Value for money.
Worth every penny”
It's got perfect location. meaning not too far to the bazaar, and neither the Durba Square (while in some spot might being too close to the local area so it can't never be quite.) The staffs/services are incredible. especially Mr. Neeraj who tried to do everything to make us feel comfortable in the hotel, also he provided good information and suggestions for our next move. The breakfast was buffet and had awesome taste. Best hotel breakfast among all hotels in Nepal in our journey.
Wonderful staff, big clean room”
We were very disappointed upon arrival to find that our room was not available and they moved us to another, lesser hotel across the street. They understood our disappointment and refunded our money for the first night, and moved us into our proper room for the next two. They gave us free breakfast and dinner, including some free drinks. Over and over they wanted to make us happy. We became very friendly with the staff and had a wonderful stay. We stayed in the apartment suite which was big and very comfortable. Internet access wasn't great, but that might just be Nepal.
Great value for money”
The hotel was great. We stayed there 2 nights. Staff were super friendly. Moreover, if you want to travel in Nepal, you can easily contact the tour agent there. Very convenient. It might be a little expensive than outside, but definitely reliable. The driver was good. In conclusion, I was pleased with the hotel. Yet, the breakfast was bland, however, I guess it's Nepali standard. Foods were always very poor there.
secluded from the dust of Kathmandu”
I was welcomed and taken care of by the staff of this hotel and also the Fuji Hotel where I was placed by the Dream Hotel's staff for a more suitable room. I was very satisfied with the room standard, but especially the staff helpfulness and friendliness. The location is very good with very little of the dust that plagues this part of Kathmandu. I will return if in Kathmandu again.
Great value and terrific lication”
It’s a budget hotel but clean and incredibly well situated within a block or two of the main steeets if Thamel. Terrific buffet breakfast managed by the lovely Bimla! Made to order eggs. As well. All of the staff is incredibly accommodating. Even though it’s in the heart of Thamel, it’s quiet because it’s just off in a side street.
friendly and helpful staff”
The location was great, staff was very helpful and rooms were clean. Their breakfast was good and loved their pancakes! I was travelling by myself in kathmandu for a few days and the staff looked out for me and even gave me late checkout so i can stick around at the hotel till my flight late at night. will definitely recommend this place to my friends :)
Excellent accomodation, honest service & help”
Excellent accomodation, help desk extremely friendly & helpful for travel services or any other questions considering Nepal.
comfortable, clean and friendly staff”
It was good. It was only the issue of perhaps miscommunications or whatever but we regret the misleading circumstances arising from it. We booked a mountain flight through the hotel for a Budha air flight at an agreed price ( together with other activities)but was later given a different airline with the same price tag. We asked for clarifications, but the tour rep insisted that they said that we were informed about it but we doubted it as wehad jotted down the arrangements on a paper and have agreed to it.
Great stay”
In the middle of Thamel. Close to everything. Great help from everyone. Tea up to your room? Wow! No elevator, so it gets you ready for your trek.
