Had our honeymoon here and revisited for Anniversary with grown children: even more beautiful now.”
Stayed at Hotel du lac for our honeymoon years ago, which was perfect. Always planned to return and did so with our adult children. Had some fears that our beautiful image of the hotel might lead to disappointment as we were aware that it has undergone some changes and expansion. Upon arrival we soon found that it was even more beautiful and complete. Amazing facilities, staff and service were top notch. Very observant receptionist noticed it was hubby’s birthday when we checked in: returned to the room in the evening to find a lovely surprise of champagne and canapés. 😍 Will never tire of this simply stunning resort.

Great hotel by the lake”
The hotel is in a convenient position on the shores of Lake Garda with direct access to the shore. It has a lovely swimming pool. The staff are great. The breakfast which was included in our booking was outstanding. Our room was large, well equipped and very nice

Fantastic Stay”
This is a beautiful hotel with lovely grounds, swimming pools and fantastic facilities which is just a 10 minute walk into the centre of Riva. Staff were all lovely and the breakfasts were excellent. This really is a luxury experience. Our teenage kids had a ball and really enjoyed the experience. A real treat.

Great resort in an amazing town”
Everything was great about this resort. Pools, restaurants, staff, cleanliness etc. Only cons would be its about a 10/15minute walk from the town centre and some of the rooms and pool chairs are a touch outdated. Regardless, I would recommend this to any family or couples

Beautiful Oasis”
This is a wonderful place and we didn’t want to leave. A beautiful setting and tasteful hotel with lots of amenities and you’re not crammed in round the pools or gardens. The staff are on the whole lovely and very helpful. A special mention must go to Luca and Giancarlo and the chefs in the Main restaurant and the whole team at Capannina. A great massage at the spa and a fantastic array of water sports.

No sleep!”
We booked this hotel for 3 nights but left early due to.no sleep. It is a bright modern hotel in beautiful grounds but the walls are paper thin. You can hear your neighbours talking pressing light switches etc I had to leave as I could not sleep

Amazing Hotel!”
We traveled with our 2 yrs daughter and we all had a great time! the room is beautiful and the hotel has 3 different lakes with ducks running around, playground, mini club for the kids (all ages) and 3 swimming pools. Breakfast was very good and the entire place is full of trees. The only thing that was not perfect was that the basic room doesn't have a bath, only shower, which is a bit difficult with a little child. The hotel is 10 min walk to Riva del Garda and there's a shopping mall with supermarket across the street which came in handy.

Perfect autumnal location..”
The hotel is run in a professional style with great empathy and kind smiles for all guests. The rooms are generous for space and comfort, the grounds and location astonishingly beautiful and peaceful. Breakfast was excellent for qualty and quantity of choice. Our only reservations concern the indoor pool and spa. We visited DU LAC in autumnal october. Wonderful season! But only the indoor pool is operational and it somply is too small to satisfy any adults who want to swim. The spa only opens at 11.00 which is a great disappointment. The jacuzzi is a good size but water temperature is simply not hot enough!!! All in all we really enjoyed our stay but our criticisms re pool and spa leave some uncertainty whether we will make a repeat visit.

Stunning resort”
My ten year-old son and I had a wonderful holiday at this resort. The pools and gardens are great, and there are plenty of shady spots to lie down on a sun lounger and read in, when it's very hot! The food and drink at the restaurants is very high quality, and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The room itself was lovely - tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean. We slept well - the beds are comfortable, and it's quiet. The spa and gym are great. The saunas and whirlpool are free, then you pay for any additional treatments. I had a massage, which was fab. The resort is literally right on the lake, which is breathtakingly beautiful. You can hire bikes and kayaks etc. next door. Riva is an easy scenic walk away, by the lakeside. You can get bigger boats from there, some of which are lovely old-fashioned paddle steamers.

Excellent”
Nice setting , lovely gardens and pool area , plenty of chairs to sunbathe . Some top floors have lake views . Rooms spacious and clean lovely garden views . 20 min walk to Riva town but nice walk along the lake . Bike hire and activities bit expensive . Outside the hotel is quite busy , not too much space on beach to sit and water freezing better by pool

Nice Place, but an Ugly reception was given.”
This was our 40th trip to Italy and we've learned no matter how well my fiancé, who speaks fluent Italian to the point of taking her Masters Degree in Italy for 2 years, that regardless of us starting the conversation in Italian, many Italians think it cheeky to respond in English, as if her Italian isn't very good. (What is this, Paris? :-) She gets unsolicited remarks about how good her Italian is. So here's what happened. We're checking in and asked the receptionist, when all the paperwork was complete, if they could kindly make a dinner reservation for us the next night and handed them the name and phone number of the restaurant. She looked at it, called over the concierge, and said in Italian (she didn't know we spoke Italian) "God knows what these two want in this horrid place. It's not around here." They both giggled and went back to smiling at us. I don't know why she insisted on this underhanded comment, but I do not see a reason (we were dressed nice, pleasant to her, all smiles, etc) she thought it amusing to demean our choice of restaurant (which, by the way, gave us a warm and sincere reception and served absolutely wonderful local food--Al Corsaro in Malcesine, an 18km pleasant drive southeast of Riva). Her fake attitude was meant to be mean-spirited and snarky. And that's how we felt. Why? I wrote a note to the hotel but the manager's comment was we must have been "mistaken." No apology given. On the positive side, the room was spotless and the park is truly wonderful. The room was quite dated in the add-on, but very large by Italian standards. Breakfast was huge and varied. We paid $185/night. The spa was not particularly clean and there were surprisingly no bathrooms amongst the sauna, steam, and cold shower spritz--you had to walk out to spa reception to find one. We will never stay here again because of the haughty attitude of the staff. Go somewhere you can enjoy sincerity.

Location of hotel is great. Room was good, outside thay have big park, good pools....”
The only problem was a wi-fi conection. Wi-fi for the guests is restrictid. You can not open everything on internet, you can not send files, photos or open gmail. Staff do not want to tell you that! The cleaning staff is great... The best thing is nature round hotel..

Truly one of the best places in Italy”
It was absolutely above our expectations. We are tourist from Singapore and one of the best places we stayed so far in Italy. Breakfast is truly top notch. Very friendly and accommodating staff !! It has a beautiful park with exit to the lake. A short walk along the well maintained foot and bicycle paths to the the old historic town - very scenic. More English channels would be a bonus.

Fairytale by the lake”
The lobby and the park are perfect. You do not have to leave the hotel. The hotel is not just in the center, but it gives it a special charm. The only complaint is that all rooms are renovated, but I believe that it will soon be. All in all. I would like to come back.

Maybe the best hotel in Italy”
I stay in Italy, almost 1 month every year last 20 years. I can tell you this was the best Hotel that I stayed in Italy since now.( I can tell you that in Italy the hotels are not good, like in Turkey, Dubai or Thailand) I can not say it 's cheap for that money. But it is really good, also it was the best breakfast ever in Italy.
