An affordable hotel in the center of Dubai”
I stayed in Dubai Youth Hostel for 3 nights last November and my overall experience was great. I read some reviews that their breakfast is not good but when I was there, there's a lot of wide variety of buffet breakfast. Also, this hostel is near the Stadium metro station so I can move anywhere in Dubai easily. The only downside of the hotel is that it does not have a free wi-fi. You can use the computer stations in the lobby for 5 dirhams per hour.
It was perfect for what I needed”
I picked this hostel because I was only staying in Dubai for 9 hours waiting on a redeye flight out. The hostel was within a reasonable walking distance from terminal 2 where I came from, and the entire place looked very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful in getting me a taxi back to the airport. There's an outlet mall with lots of eateries close by, and a block beyond that is the metro line (i.e.- location is perfect). There were no shower curtains in the bathroom but I was the only one in the 4 bedroom place I stayed at. The internet was high speed and their coffee shop had great prices. I would stay here again, albeit in a private room next time.
Great Location, Great Food, Helpful Staff”
Pros: Very very clean (unlike other hostels which are full of bed bugs). No bunk beds, they have proper beds and everything is clean and neat, you also get decent lockers. The staff is very helpful and professional and gave me wifi password and breakfast coupons right away. The breakfast is healthy and unlimited which can keep you going untill the night. Washrooms & rooms are all clean. Location is right outside the metro station. I am going to have this hostel as my stay for all my dubai trips. Hats off!
Cheap, close the Metro”
I actually paid for 3 nights earlier, but later stayed for 4 more nights. Though, I stayed in a shared room. Luckily, I met great guys from Italy, South Korea in the room. Also, the Bangladeshi man that cleans the room was very kind, he wants to know how your day goes. In general, I had a lovely stay in the hostel. It would be good if internet is available in the rooms. The great thing about the hostel is the closeness to the metro and bus station. Also, there is a big supermarket nearby. And for the Muslims, there is a big mosque 1 minute from the hostel. I would certainly go back if I visit Dubai again. It Cheap!!!
Nice hostel to stay in Dubai”
I had a wonderful time staying in the youth hostel. It helped me enjoy more of my vacation in Dubai. I will definitely come back.
Fantastic Location, easy to get to the Metro”
If you want to travel Dubai in tight budget, this youthhostel will be best choice. Very good price and good location. I can walk only 200m to get to metro station(Stadium). There is a big supermarket(Lulu) in front of metro station. Water pool is so nice and clean, that I strongly recommend. Wifi is 10dhr per 1day, 20dhr/3days. I do not understand. Breakfast is very nice. Reception desk is so kind. I slept 4 bed room for 4 days. Really good choice and very satisfied. Moreover, flower smell is bonus.
Finest in Dubai!”
I spent 4 days just before New Year’s Day. Every day from7-9am you’re served free breakfast, bread cheese or coffee juice, you can choose. Staff are so kind, beds are cleaned each day. You can swim in the pool. You can’t expect this experience in Dubai, where most of the hotels are too expensive. Hope you’ll enjoy staying at this youth hostel!
All right overall”
This hostel seems to be the only hostel in Dubai, that means you have no choice if you are looking for a cheap accommodation. Nevertheless I find the hostel acceptable. The dining room and the breakfast gives you a good start everyday. There is something I would like to suggest for improvement. The bathroom floor in Room 308 needs to be levelled to avoid puddles of water that cannot be drained away. The beds in Room 409 are too closely packed. They can be rearranged to make movement around more comfortable. Further, the set of (ugly, probably covered with dated and dirty sheets [sorry to say that]) sofas and coffee table should better be replaced with wooden chairs and a table for roomates to do their reading, chatting, and snacking.
An unforgettable experience”
I wasn't there in Dubai for recreation or outing purpose. It was typically an official tour with reponsibility and work. But, of course I was requiring comfort after the long working days. Good to say that my room was really a peaceful place to spend my nights with the luxury of loneliness.
really i enjoied in that youth hostel - thatnks to the ehole team work there especially its manager Mr. - that really the best manager i met in my work life also Yasser - the cocker and his estaff of the restaurant
Super location near Dubai International Airport and Stadium Metro, good breakfast
Pleasure to stay there”
Reading the comments, I was confused and enter the hostel with a smile. But, checking in, went to the room and sleeping a night, I can´t understand the bad reviews! Taking the metro from the airport, change the metro (just get out and go to the another side) and get out at stadion. Around 500m in the way to the next station, you can see the entrance on the left side. Directly at the station is a mall. If you arrive in the night at the airport, you can take a taxi to the hostel, it should not be very expensive. You can see the airport form the hostel!
Positively surprised with the place”
Had to book this as all hotels were booked due a Big Global medical conference in the city. Initially was a little hesitant to book at a Youth Hostel....even though it was private single room...but was positively surprised by the cleanliness. It is good for people / families on a budget.
Good Choice to spend a WEEK”
If you are looking for some affordable place which is conveniently located near metro station and have all the facilities then you should not go to ANY OTHER place then this youth hostel....
Basic hostel accommodation in Dubai”
I found the hostel a throw back to a degree from somewhere in the 90s. In Dubai the place of money and architecture, the Dubai Youth Hostel has somehow fallen a little by the wayside. Perfectly comfortable, but in need of modernisation in my opinion. Basic things like how to use the TV, where to go for breakfast, I need to use the internet, turn the water heater on for a hot shower, these things need to be put into a booklet and placed in all the rooms. But it did have a great swimming pool, and it was close to a supermarket and the metro line. In fact I have rebooked a room for a night so it can't be that bad can it!
great, i thought the hostel was really good. Part of YHA and was run really well, absolutely no problems, is kinda a hostel / hotel cause not too many backpackers, but still met a couple here. good location to get into town and airport and really happy with the service and quality of the rooms, and it has a great swimming pool
Clean and great value for the money”
The "front desk" was a little "uneven." Some of the staff was very friendly, some were indifferent. There is no wifi (surprising for an "advanced" city like Dubai) so you have to ask for an ethernet cable to use to connect your lap top to the Internet. Often, the people who give out the cables seemed "put off" that they had to take the time to do this.
Well priced budget accommodation.”
Value for money was very good, it was good budget accommodation. Staff were very helpful and friendly, location was a little far away from the centre of Dubai but very close to a Metro Station which made it very easy to get anywhere. There were lots of trips available to book at reception which was good. The breakfast had a lot of variety and there was plenty available but the breakfast was adequate, it wasn't great food but the sort of breakfast you would expect in budget hostel accommodation. The cleanliness was adequate. I would have preferred it to have been a bit cleaner but it was ok. I have experienced a lot of dirtier accommodation!
Incredible breakfast. not a typical hostel. People stay here forever and can create issue.”
the hostel is nice. it apparently is non-profit. good swimming pool. sports teams and athletes stay here quite often for tournaments. NOT your typical backpacker hostel. rather old guys stay here for long term. I had to share a room with this grumpy old guy, who apparently had made it his home and was the worst roommate I have ever met (based on my experience staying in hostels around the world for over 9 months). I eventually left the place, since they didn't have another room available.
Ideal hotel for budget travellers”
this is an ideal place to stay in dubai if you are in a budget. although the location is far from the main sites in dubai, it is near the "stadium" metro station (less than 5 minutes walk), and the metro in dubai is fairly cheap and frequent and runs until midnight - so this was not a problem. there were also some shops/supermarket next to the metro station too - handy for food & water. the area seemed pretty safe too. it is also a good location for the airport as is is not far away - i took the metro to/from the airport. the dorm room was basic, could be cleaner but was otherwise ok and even had a fridge. it was a little cramped but had just enough room for bags/backpacks. note, there were no lockers in the room, so if you have valuables, you can always leave them in safety deposit box in reception. the bed was comfortable, and the room had air conditioning. the bathroom could be cleaner but i suppose this depends how clean & tidy your room-mates are. the bathroom could do with a shower curtain too as the whole room gets wet! there were also no spare electricity sockets for recharging batteries (unless you unplugged the plug for the fridge) - i just went down to the communal area where there were some spare sockets, and watched tv while my batteries were charging. the breakfast was basic - coffee, juice, eggs - don't expect much but it does the job and you get what you pay for. i found the staff at the main reception (in the main building) friendly enough and helpful when i had questions. however, i would not bother with the staff lounging around in the communal area in the building where the dorms are; they only seemed interested in watching tv.
