A paradise resort”
This is the first and only resort, situated on a fantastic lonely 2km long sandy beach, so it's very private. The owners are a Dutch couple and they are really nice people. The bungalows are elevated over the ground and are fully closed from insects, you won't find any giant speders and lizards in the room. You also get a large comfortable bed facing a wall-size window with unbelievable view at the sea and a big bathroom with shower. Duli Beach is a rather remote resort, so no A/C and hot water. In the evening you get a solar-charged batteries with USB output and a plug for two led lamps hanging on the bungalows ceiling. Other than that, you have an option to charge something from a diesel generator, which is ran for nearly two hours in the afternoon. Don't worry, it's not loud. I still wouldn't call the water cold and because of a partially netty front a back walls you get a breeze in the bungalow. The food at the restorant is decent and reasonably priced (especially compared to overpriced El Nido eateries). I also absolutely loved the pancakes (one of the options for breakfast) - they reminded me of my trips to Netherlands. The owner occasionally drives to El Nido, so you have a possibility to ask him to buy you fresh fruits. I definitely recommend bringing a mask and a snorkel (though you can rent them from the owner) and swim to the left from the resort. You will find a sunken ship, two small caves, sea stars, colorful fish and (if you are lucky, like me) a turtle. Maybe the only minor disadvantage of the resort are sandflies on the beach. Their bites don't hurt but are very itchy. You're safe if you bring an insect repellent with you. Even if not, their bites are really a cheap price to pay for magnificent night sky, brilliant view from the bed in a bungalow and for listening to only jungle and sea waves sounds during your sleep. Don't miss an opportunity to visit this place untill it gets spoiled by crowds of tourists as it happened to El Nido.
Stunning Beach and nice quiet resort”
We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Duli Beach. The owners Max and Elmer are lovely and the resort was very beautiful and peaceful. Duli beach is fairly remote (about 27km drive, north of El Nido town) so it is very quiet and unspoiled here. Clear waters with decent snorkeling. This resort is perfect if you just want peace and quiet and almost exclusively your own fantastic beach!! Food is good and drinks are reasonably priced too. I would add that if you want to go on any of the boat trips from El Nido (Tour A, B, C, or D) it would be best staying overnight in El Nido town to do those first whilst and stay at Duli after, as traveling between El-Nido and Duli Beach is 1000peso each way for a tricycle so it can get expensive.
Wow, simply the best.”
Had an amazing 2 night stay at Duli beach. Cottage supernice, great seaview from the bed, which was btw very comfortable. Very nice bathroom, everything superclean, very friendly owners. Pleasantly surprised how good it can be to sleep in a beach bungalow with no aircon and no sound insulation at all. First time doing this but definitely not the last. The resort is at one end of Duli beach, which is a very laid back beach anyway. Not many visitors, since it is not easy to get to (in fact the tricycle driver who brought us, got lost -in the end we became very dusty :) so if you know your arrival time in el nido, better book a transfer with the resort). Very nice beach, you can even go into the water and swim in low tide, which is not that common in this area as we learned later. Food is good and cheap, you csn select from 3 dishes for every mesl. There is only one thing that is probably to be improved: have some starters since the portions are not that big and have more fish than meat! Only one meal had fish other than calamari and it was so good! Something else that was not the resorts fault, but we had strong allergic reactions to the masssage oil that was used by the masseuses. All in all the perfect beach experience with the perfect hosts, would return in a heartbeat! Thank you!
👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 ⁃ Duli Beach Resort is not in the electricity grid. They run a generator from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. No power ports in the rooms as well. Guests bring in their electronics to the restaurant/bar area to charge in the allotted time. ⁃ No fan or any other appliances in the room. Expect 2 (dim) light bulbs and that is it. ⁃ Limited food option. Even fruit smoothies are made ahead of time. ⁃ Super basic amenities. “Resort” does not sound correct, it’s a bit misleading. ⁃ 25 to 30 km from El Nido town. Very rough and bumpy roads that can be unsafe. Tricycles can be hired for 1500 php good for 2-3 pax on a regular day. We were unlucky as we came on a rainy day and tricycle drivers did not even dare to negotiate. They know the road can get that bad. We had to rent ATVs for 1500 each to get to the resort. If you opt to hire a van for 2,500 to 3,000 you will be asked to walk for more than 1 km as the last part of the road is too narrow for any vehicle wider than ATVs. (The amount you have to pay for the transpo can actually get you a decent room in the town) 👍👍👍: ⁃ Bungalows are spacious and the bed is huge. ⁃ Hosts and staffs were very approachable. ⁃ Very few tourist on this beach. You have all the privacy you need. Pro tip: If you plan to do island tours and visit the tourist spots around El Nido, it will be best if you check in on a hotel around the town proper. A decent private room with bath downtown will cost you Php 1,200-1,600 while the tricycle ride out and back in to Duli will cost you Php 1,500. I recommend that you do a day trip to Duli beach for some quiet time or to surf (rent a motorcycle for 600/day) or stay overnight at Duli Beach Resort if no activities are booked for the next day. Nothing against Duli Beach Resort but I believe it is just fair that they should be more transparent on these things especially with the electricity and road situation so the guests won’t be surprised. A contact number on the website would also be helpf
Just mind blowing ”
I would highly recommend staying at Duli Beach Resort. It is a trek out of El Nido but well worth it. The owners Max and Elma are the perfect hosts the make their guest number one priority, the food is delicious, the bar is well stocked and the Bungalows are extremely well laid out, its minimalist design its more than enough. During the day the beach gets busy with day visitors but you can just lay in a hammock and enjoy the scenery. At night you have the whole beach to yourself and in the mornings you wake up with the ocean on your doorstep. So if it is peace and quietness you are after Duli Beach Resort is perfect for you.
Duli Beach Resort is run by the two Dutch Elma and Max. The place is kept very simple but is a true jewel. It is super clean, staff is very friendly, food is simple but good. The beach itself is breathtaking and the four cottages are placed right on it- the view out of the bed is one to dream of. Duli Beach still is more or less undiscovered- very few visitors and only one other restaurant and bar are located here. From El Nido a 30-40 Minute Drive all the way to the North tip. A secret worth visiting at least 2-3 days.
We spent just under a week at Duli Beach and we wished we could stay longer! Max, his family, staff and dogs were all extremely welcoming and helpful during our stay. The bungalow was spacious and clean, and even without AC/ a fan the breeze from the sea kept it relatively cool trough out the night. The staff were happy to help with any requests and queries we had, such as booking boat tours, local activities, transport etc. The food was simple but good. El Nido is about a 40/50 min bike ride away should you wish to have a day trip, but you'll be glad to get back to the tranquility of Duli Beach after. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so great, our first impression of the Philippines was amazing!
Relaxing and beautiful beach ”
Duli Beach Resort is situated directly on a beautiful expansive beach. The beach bungalows are very clean, comfortable and look out directly onto the beach. The owners Max and Elma are really helpful and friendly. Getting to the resort can be challenge. The road is not great, but this also ensures the beach is picture perfect and visited by only those that have a reason for going there. You effectively get a film set type location to yourself! There is no mains electricity in the resort, but the use of a generator solves this, although creature comforts such as hairdryers, straighteners etc. are things to leave at home! Max and Elma are really helpful with charging phones, toothbrushes etc. There is no hot water in the room. This takes a little getting used to, but again adds to the experience. If you want to experience a true getting away from it all type holiday on one of the best beaches you’ll find anywhere in the world, Duli Beach Resort is for you!
We had the most fantastic time at Duli Beach Resort - if anything, we just wished we had more time to relax at this beautiful place. We wished we had planned ahead slightly better for the journey from El Nido (local trike drivers were reluctant to take us there, but in a car arranged by the resort for the journey back into town we had no issues). The staff were really helpful, the food and drink delicious and great value, and the location second to none.
Fantastic beach getaway ”
After the noise of el Nido, Duli Beach is a peaceful paradise. The road to get to the place is challenging, so it keeps a lot of travelers away! There are quite a few day trippers that make it to the beach in the day time; but the vibe is still low key. And at sunset they all clear out and leave you a nice peaceful private beach! The owners are fantastic and really make you feel at home. Tip - don't pay the "entrance fee" that a family will charge you on the way in for using the private road! Tell them you are staying at the hotel and they should not make you pay.
One of a kind experience on Palawan”
After you do your obligatory couple of days in El Nido, get out to Duli Beach and enjoy a true "living on the beach" experience. We stayed here for 4 nights, and wish we could have stayed longer. Duli Beach gets a few day trippers, but you'll have most of the morning and evening by yourself to enjoy this slice of heaven. Wonderful hosts, good food, excellent accommodations, and great value. We can't recommend it enough!
It's like paradise”
Duli Beach Resort is the perfect accommodation for those who seek the calm and like to relax and to recover from stress. It's about one 1h by tricycle on a bumpy road from El Nido, but for us the trip was definitely worth it as the resort was exactly corresponding to what we were looking for.
Great value in a relaxing spot”
We understand why duli beach resort has a 5 /5 rating. The couple who run it are amazing, professional and attentive to your needs. You are getting great value for money and the place goes beyond just a place to sleep. Getting there is like getting to nacpan, a bit bumpy, but that seems to be normal for palawan at this stage and also seems to be improving at a fast rate. Duli beach itself is a very white beach and it is beautiful. Stay here while its still so secluded!
I had a great time at Duli Beach, it is well worth the extra effort getting there from El Nido. The lovely Dutch family who run the place have done an exceptional job with the resort and have create a great place to stay, unwind, go to the beach and admire the natural beauty of the Philippines.
Excellent, great location, attentive and friendly place to stay. ”
Excellent place to stay, right on the beach and away from it all. The journey from El Nido is interesting, a lot of reviews mention the road which is different but well worth the effort & adds to the adventure ! Hire a scooter or take a trike you will not regret it. Food is limited in choice but good. Bar prices are very reasonable and cheaper than El Nido. If you like being away from it all with a good book and a wonderful beach with surf, then I’d highly recommend it. If your looking for a a place with more than that then stay in El Nido.
Perfect beach, perfect hosts, perfect cottage !”
I'm going to start with the only bad thing about Duli Beach Resort ; getting there. It's a challenge to get there, because of the bad quality of the roads, but that makes Duli beach, a non touristy beach which means that you almost have a private beach to yourself ! I spent a month in the philippines and this is the nicest beach i had the chance to visit ! White sand beach and you don't need any kind of reef shoes in the water. The owners are super nice, the cottage are well made with an amazing view on the ocean. when we were there the waves were big so we learned to surf which was really cool ! I will definitely go back one day !
We loved our stay at Duli Beach, the private bungalows they have are cute, but the location is absolutely stunning! I need to forewarn some travellers though, if you're looking to do more than 1 El Nido tours over the span of a few days, this property may not be for you. Its quite far from city centre and the actual trek to the resort is difficult. But despite that, if you want to getaway for a few days this is the spot. The beach is unbelievable and the overall staff and hotel was great! We will definitely be back!
A stunning, relaxing escape ”
My partner and I stayed at Duli beach for 6 nights and loved every minute of it. Max and Alma are amazing hosts, very friendly and ready to help with any inquiries you may have. The beach and resort are very clean and the sea is crystal clear. There is excellent snorkelling with a big array of fish and a sunken ship right on your doorstep and the sound of the ocean to lull you off to sleep at night. The food is good and the beer is cold. The other staff are all very friendly and helpful and you get beautiful sunsets and sunrises. I honestly can’t find anything negative to say. My partner struggled sleeping a little at night as there is no aircon (with it being an eco resort) but we both said we can’t wait to come back. It’s a real treasure of a find and I wish Max and Alma every success as they truly deserve it. Until next time, Naomi and Leon
Would completely recommend spending some time here and to escape the touristy chaos of El Nido. Location was absolutely incredible, slightly rough ride from El Nido town but simple enough by tricycle. Well worth it even for a few hours but especially for a few nights. Hosts are kind and considerate, food and drink available and cheap. Bungalows are simple but very comfortable with an amazing view from your bed. Very rare to find a location as stunning as this. By day, you have hundreds of metres of perfect beach to share with a tiny handful of people. Then the beach becomes your own private place by evening and you can enjoy an evening under the stars.
If you can live without your smartphone and electricity for days, then Duli Beach Resort will certainly be a perfect vacation place for you. Every little detail about the resort was admirable - from the room, materials used, staff, hosts to the food and service. Just watch out for the sand flies. Make sure to apply repellant as it can ruin your relaxation. Our stay was excellent. 10/10 we would definitely be back here!
