Not up to standed in my opinion , room good after being moved Breakfast not very nice ,dining room very run down noisy wooden floor. I no it was being repainted outside but this hotel needs refurbishing inside. Sorry very disappointed.
Excellent customer service & good location
we both enjoyed our stay”
we had a very enjot very enjoyable stay. thank you.
Lady on breakfast service was missable and rude. Reception staff were very helpful
Value for money”
Cheap and clean.. it’s near Durham castle.
everything is good, just no fridge”
Up to the Marriott excellency, just missing a fridge for our butter and fruits. Breakfast is excellent.
spacious place to live in”
very good and big room. facilities nice. filriendly staff but after the next-day cleaning, the room leaves a very terrible smell. overall good.
Go for the Marriott in Durham only if the hotel brand name and location matter to you. ”
Very disappointed with the hotel on the whole. By far the worst Marriott I have ever stayed in. Will not be booking here again unless the hotel has a complete overhaul as far as rooms and service is concerned. In the 5 nights I spent here I wasn’t even given bottled water once! I was in the U.K. for two weeks and every other hotel offered drinking water.
Standard service ”
The location is not that far from train station but need to walk down the hill with many stairs. Not recommend to walk. Better to hire taxi just 5 GBP. Close to the city. Quite old hotel and heard someone steps on the ceiling. Good breakfast.
Not bad, not great”
We were booked into the newer half of the hotel which is great given my dislike of creepy older hotels. However, the room that we got didn't have air conditioning, which made it a little stuffy. Room was okay, not awesome, but not bad. The layout of the block we were in was a little weird, over a gym - so every time we came in or out, the gym/spa front desk would look at us expectantly. Location was good though, everything was just walking distance.
