fantastic experience”
Our family (3 adults, 2 young children) had a fabulous time at Dwarika's Hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed warmly by the wonderful staff. We were greeted with cold towels and fresh juice and loved the fruit basket, cookies, and assortment of teas/coffees in our room. The buffet breakfast had tremendous variety and the courtyard makes a pleasant location for a meal. Our suite was spacious and tastefully decorated. The pool area is lovely and we enjoyed having a drink at the bar in the evening. My only complaints were that (1) we had contacted the hotel for airport pick-up (which was confirmed) but no one showed up for us and we had to take a taxi and (2) there was some kind of bug in our room (not a mosquito) that bit our poor baby all over her face.

Love this architectural treasure”
Dwarika's is simply the finest hotel in Kathmandu. The salvaged architectural pieces that have been incorporated into the various hotel buildings are gorgeous. Our room had tons of windows and looked out on the courtyard. I have only one criticism of our room, and that is that they use citronella to clean, and our room had an overpowering smell in it when we checked in. We had to open the windows for a while to try to clear out the aroma.

Number 1 in Kathmandu without exception”
Had a fantastic stay in Dwarika's Hotel. From the moment you walk through the huge front doors into the oasis beyond it is the perfect experience. I stayed in a suite which was impeccably appointed and decorated including their signature range of toiletries, nightly turn-down service including chocolates on the bedside table. There are always home-made cookies and fresh fruit on the coffee table and more bottled water than you could possibly consume. The service is impeccable and I simply cannot speak highly enough of this establishment. It delivers on all levels. I simply won't stay anywhere else when I return.

Fabulous boutique hotel!!”
Dwarika's is the best hotel in Nepal, no question. Consequently, it is extremely expensive by Nepalese standards. Agoda price were a third less than the rate quoted on the website and it was roughly. It was well worth the splurge. The hotel itself is beautiful, the evening bbq perfect, it's close to the centre but a peaceful haven and the only down side was that the pool was under repair and could not be used. Otherwise, i couldn't have higher praise for this hotel.

Incredible stay at an incredible hotel; superb”
I have travelled quite a bit and have stayed at all types of hotels in my lifetime, but I have never seen a hotel like this one. It is beautiful, its in the city but as soon as you walk in everything outside those doors disappears. I really could see myself staying in the hotel and not venturing out at all! Everything seems so unique and blends well with the Nepalese culture etc. the design, the layout, the spa, the rooms! We were a group of 7 people, and our three rooms were upgraded to Junior Suites which are gorgeous rooms. The amenities are awesome! they have actual store bought toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, mosquito repellant, etc. just in case. The bar is super cozy and the food is excellent. You must try the meatballs and the momos! Those were our favorites. There is a library that is very cozy especially when its cold outside. In the day you can lounge around the beds and couches that are scattered around outdoors in the garden, and if its warm enough you can dip into the pool. Their gym is good enough and they have yoga classes. The spa isn't out of this world but the masseuses are incredible!! The hotel also work with a sister company for guided tours and our tour guide was really awesome (Robin) and was very informative and helpful with booking trips around kathmandu and to pokhara.

Amazing staff”
A haeven especially from a long road trip or away from the city hustle. The staff were amazing. After organizing with front desk 5 days before for airport pick up on our return lay over in Kathmandu, no one showed up. Upon arriving to the hotel, they were apologetic and offered accommodation whilst we waited the duration of our lay over. They were very understanding and we were very appreciative. Because of this, the service is 5 stars.

A little oasis in chaotic Kathmandu”
This hotel is truly a luxury oasis of calm in the middle of the chaos that can be Kathmandu. Once inside the complex, you can't hear any traffic and the location even seemed to have weather that was different to the rest of the city! The Newari window frames that have been preserved are truly stunning. Our room was luxurious, directly overlooking the lovely swimming pool, and featuring a black slate-clad bathroom with walk-in rainfall shower. We ate in two of the hotel's restaurants and found the food to be of a very high standard. The Japanese restaurant was particularly high-quality.

Complete treat”
we stayed in dwarika on our last night of our trip and having travelled around nepal we wondered whether we were mad to have paid so much for a room as it is i'm sure without doubt the most expensive room available in nepal but within seconds of crossing the threshold, the calm relaxing setting and our fabulous room with exceptionally comfy bed meant we were in no doubt that it was a great decision. we ate in the nepalese restaurant and the friday bbq night (as they had no issue with us using the facilities after we checked out until we left for our flight at 9pm). thamel is a great area to find our feet when you arrive but dwarika (which is about 5/10 mins drive away from durbur square) is definitely worth the extra money as a treat and a nice retreat from the madness of kathmandu. only negatives were that i had a facial which i wouldn't have thought was worth the euro (again v expensive for nepal and nearly same as home)

An oasis of comfort and calm”
Kathmandu is an amazing city but it can lead to sensory overload. Set on a busy street a little outside the centre of town the Dwarika doesn't look like much from the street but as soon as you walk through the doors you're transported into the most fabulously calm environment, perfect to recover from a day of haggling and sightseeing around the busy city streets. It's not cheap, but if you have a decent budget and value the opportunity to relax between adventures - this is the place for you.

Historic Nepalese Architecture Reimagined”
Fabulous rooms overlook a peaceful garden in the heart of busy Kathmandu. Good food. Pool. Close to the airport.

Excellent”
It's an oasis in the city. Nicely appointed heritage property. Very good staff, helpful and knowledgeable, extends also to the salespeople in the handful of good shops on the property—they also seem to be infused with the Dwarika spirit of hospitality. Like going home to a center of calm amid the hustle and bustle of the city. Pricey, but would stay there again if I returned to Kathmandu.

Our stay was very comfortable. From the reception at the airport to the arrival and check-in at the hotel, and the room everything was impressive, with details taken care of.

Absolutely wonderful ”
On arriving for a 3 night stay we had a little hiccup with the room . The management swiftly moved rooms for us and could not have been more helpful . Our stay was just magical . The hotel is stunning , just can’t fault it . At all . Well worth the money . I’m sorry I’m going on but I can’t find enough words to explain , in fact that’s it I’m speechless . I can’t wait to stay at their resort in 2 days . Thankyou

Fantastic heritage hotel”
Hotel is stunning, 13th century craving everywhere, restaurants found is nice, staff is very friendly & helpful. Room is very big. Breakfast could be better, should provide more local food. We stayed there for 3 nights menu didn't change. Slightly boring. Taxi waited outside hotel asking for Rp500 just 3 km away.

Worthy to try one night but not more ”
We stayed 2 nights in a row. Hotel is quiet and nice , more like boutique hotel, they have nice decor and everything. Food is average but expensive, eat out I will recommended. As for service, staff are super friendly and helpful , just room service is VERY slow, we ask them make a bed and took them 1 hour to get to the room... hope they can improve the efficiency. Overall worthy to try and experience for short stay.

This was the fourth time we have stayed at Dwarika’s - always the last night or two of our stay. ”
This hotel is an architectural and historic masterpiece, embodying traditional Newari building motifs. It is expensive but very comfortable, and we love returning to it before we head home. As is often the case, we flew out late and the staff was very helpful in making sure we were comfortable for the day.
