Lovely Resort, Wonderful Room from Our Cottage”

Plenty of things to see and do for children, relaxing ambience

I booked 2 bedroom cottages: one for friends with a young daughter and the other cottage was for myself and my husband. As usual, Eagle Point did not disappoint. The view of the sea from our cottages was spectacular! Our room were air-conditioned but all we had to do was step out into our veranda/terrace to enjoy the view and fresh air. I still had work so I availed of their Php500 wifi. The connection was excellent throughout the resort. If my laptop had been waterproof, I might have tried it underwater hahahaha... The wifi used to be free but I can't complain. For the online work that I do, I would rather pay Php500 and have excellent Internet connection than a free but lousy Internet. They also have a per-hour Internet rate but I needed to be logged in at work for 8 hours. From my previous review, I mentioned that Eagle Point now offers dinner buffet. My friends were impressed by the food but I have tasted better. It is by no means revolting or unappetizing, but I have tasted better. Basically, it's food. But there are enough choices to satisfy one's palette. My only issue is that the dinner buffet price was raised to Pho450 when it used to be Php390. I will start to complain if I go back and find out that the price increased again. I hope they settle on a price asap. A new experience for me and my husband is going to Sepoc island. The boat costs Php2000 and you can have lunch at the island with a grill-focused menu to choose from. It is a 15-minute boatride, and you get a chance to see the islands nearby. Unfortunately, Sepoc beach was a bit of a disappointment. The sand is not fine so slippers are must. The beach itself is full of dead corals and sea urchins so renting booties from the resort's dive shop or bringing your own is a must! I shudder to think of what would have happened if I stepped on any of those things. All in all, Sepoc beach is for team building activities. It is not a romantic or laid-back environment for a family of four or six.

Top notch service with a family feel atmosphere.”

Very quite and huge resort area

eagle point is a 40 hectre resort located in an isolated portion of anilao in batangas. the resort is a bit of a journey from mabini and more so from batangas city but well worth the trip. the services is five star with a very personal touch. it was very quite during our 3 day tuesday to friday stay but i was impressed with the professionalism of the staff. im not a diver so i wont comment on this aspect of the resort and it is marketed as a diving resort. just went for a relaxation\romantic stay. not a good beach but good swiming and good snoreling at the resort is available. the 'dont bring in outside food or beverages' is not enforced and the premium price they charge warrants bringing in what you may want to consume in your room. very good value for the money and an excellent resort.

A classic way to get out from city life ”

There's a lot of nice things to describe this hotel but the best three that caught my attention the most are first, it's secluded location, the amazing view and the food.

My husband and I love beaches. We resides in a city where people don't sleep so whenever it's weekend we would usually want to go out of town. As a frequent traveller, our standards is a bit high. We are picky to the places we visit and make sure our money is worth it. Finally, we found a place to go that it is just a couple hours away from Manila that gave us the paradise experience. This secluded hotel/resort with it's snorkeling and diving activities are all major draw to this pocket of paradise. They have few endangered birds and one of these birds is the Philippine eagle. Also, the people are very accommodating and the rooms are clean. Whether you wish to mix and mingle, eat, drink, play or just spend peaceful time with your partner and meditate, this is a place to go. Being a fitness enthusiast, I enjoyed my run around the areas around six am with the beautiful sunset view and did some out door workout next to the pool. I achieved inner peace besides getting fit during vacation. You can do business or leisure, or a combination of both at this resort. With the free wireless connectivity at the lobby area or even in the room with the cheap cost of 200 pesos, you can get things done here. My family in laws from US had fun and peace throughout their eagle point resort holiday. We will definitely comeback and will be proud to recommend this place to our friends.

Top quality, top location, top views, top food!!!”

Best three things are the scenery, the food and the staff....

Top quality, top location, top views, top food, and top top top staff. Eagle Point resort was the best experience we ever had. Eagle Point should have a rating higher than the scale allows. Of course the rooms are fantastic (we had a cottage sea-view), spacious, comfortable, with all amenities. We had our own stretch of beach, and the views are just to die for. The island is beautiful, private, sunny all day and intimate. They offer a lot of activities and a super friendly dive center. But what really sets apart Eagle Point from any other place on earth is its staff - genuinely welcoming and friendly who really go the extra mile, beyond expectations. They make you feel at home from beginning to end. Not only the staff remembers you by name, but they really care about the guests. We will certainly be back for a special memorable occasion.

Good location for family bonding and leisure”

Their hotels, Sea view, Swimming Pools and Restaurant

Eagle Point Resort is quite far but the travel time is worth it cause the place is so relaxing and great especially for those people who like nature. It is also best for family vacation or bonding time. The best thing about Eagle Point Resort is its Hotel, friendly staffs, pools and their restaurant. The hotel where we stayed (Hotel Sea View in specific) is so comfortable and has a sanitation and clean surroundings. Further, its nearby islands is eye catching to us. You can ride a boat to Sepoc Beach by 15 minutes which is really good. Also, we enjoyed delicious food and bands performing in the restaurant. Though the price of their food is a bit high, it's worth paying for. In addition to that, we also enjoyed playing table tennis and billiards in their recreational room. And there are some foreigners who also loves to visit the place over again. And also us. We are planning to visit it again anytime for a vacation.

Clean, nice view, close to great diving spots”

Clean room, lots of water, friendly staff

Overall, it was a good stay for me and my partner. Having arrived fairly late, around 10pm, was trying to contact the cellphone number posted around 9pm but it took a while before someone answered. Otherwise, soon as we got to the hotel, we parked, got our bags loaded onto their service and got taken down to the hotel. Check-in was fast and the staff was friendly enough to help us carry our bags. The first morning, there was a buffet breakfast which had a decent choices of Filipino food and pancakes, bacon and pastries. However, on our 2nd day we had to order from their ala carte menu since there were only 2 guests left staying at the hotel. For dinner, we decided to eat at the restaurant and their servings are huge! Each dish can serve up to 2 people, so we ended up buying too much food.. but thankfully the staff allowed us to take it back to our room for supper. The Filipino food was good, we had the Sinigang and Lechon Kawali which was served fast and hot! My stay was in the first week of June, which I believe was already off season for summer and diving. But no complaints since the staff were still there even more attentive and helpful. We got to stay at the cottage room seaview, but mind you, if there are guests on the otherside, you can hear everything they are saying! We got picked up by our dive masters at their dive shop. The dive from shore was simply amazing without having taking a boat ride out to other dive sites. The snorkeling was also tons of fun even if we were only about 5 meters off the shore. Don't expect white beaches here, bring your aqua shoes because its rocky! Their dive shop offers gear at a reasonable rate! The drive to Eagle Point Resort was an adventure itself since we chose to travel at night. Better get there before the sunsets, because the sign to Eagle Point is confusing and is pointing to a ditch. The resort itself is still 1.5km from the main road, with lots of bumps. An adventure indeed!!

            See You Again!”

            Foods, Snorkeling/Diving, Hospitality of people

"BABALIK-BALIKAN" is the only word I will utter to describe my 2-days 1-night stay in Eagle Point Resort. Delicious foods, cool and fresh air, pleasant sound from the waves of the sea, and hospitable people, factors that a stress-relieving location must have, and Eagle Point Resort got it all. Typhoon Lando did not stopped us to find peace in the midst of heavy rain. I and my 2 buddies really enjoyed our stay here. It's a must-recommended place for all people, specially those who are burned-out 'caused by work, family, and even heartbreaks. Other activities such as snorkeling and diving made our trip more exciting! I'll see you again, Eagle Point Resort! Thank you for such a wonderful experience. :)

            Pleasantly surprised”

            Value, Location, Staff Attentiveness

Fellow divers had recommended several places in Anilao but they said none of the places they've tried were that good and the food was typically poor but there just weren't many good choices. Eagle Point was a great choice and we'd definitely go back there. The cost of the room was very reasonable. Breakfast was included and it was pretty good. We had our other meals there and they were also reasonably prices and pretty good. There are two dive spots that you can access right off the shore, and a 30min boat ride will get you to the rest for ~2500 PHL. The boat service was very good. Lito runs the dive shop, is a dive instructor and was fantastic, I'd highly recommend him. The gear for rent however is poor and I'd recommend bringing at very least your own mask. There is a saltwater pool with a few baby black tips and 2 grouper that you can swim with. Overall, we got lucky with some great weather during the rainy season, calm conditions and wonderful visibility. Lots of small stuff, tropicals and nudibranchs, no big stuff, but that's typical of Anilao. About 2 hrs by bus, then another 45 minutes to an hr by jeepney and then tricycle.

            Magic”

First, the location: Eagle Point is slightly remote, about 24 km from Batangas. Just far enough from everything to feel like you have gotten away from it all. Second: The spot. It is magical. On a clean, protected bay, with islands offshore; every room a water view; clean swimming pools, a nice dining area with good menu choices, dive shop, tidy rooms. Perfect. Finally, the staff: They are wonderful. Sweet, caring and kind. From the security guards to housekeeping, everyone is lovely. We were there for several days. I have seldom felt such peace and serenity, and the cost was amazingly low.

Quick stop to try Philippiines diving”

Service, Access to dive sites, views

I spent two days and one night at Eagle point. It was a weekend between business events. I flew to Manila arrived at Eagle Point saturday afteroon and left Sunday. The drive was 117 KM and took 4 hours due to traffic. The staff here are courtious and provided all assistance. Buffet breakfast is their focused meal and is abundant and typical. You know what you'll get. Quality is adequate. The famous burger for lunch was not so good. This is more about the beef than the preparation. I conducted two dives Sunday morning. Location one was a 15 minute boat ride south. Everything was readied by the crew and the guide. Equipment was used, but fully safe and about on par with my own gear. No issues there. I was given a shorty to wear. My guide treated me well and didn't mother hen me. Dive was good but I was very cold at the end. I would have cancelled dive two, but the guide found me a full suit and that saved the day. Dive two to the cathedral was so good, I'm glad I did not cancel. I didn't try shore diving, but I don't think its all that good here. The shore is rocky and I didn't really see many doing it. If you don't to do boat diving, you probably don't want to stay here. I would visit this location again in the future.

Humble private vacation outside the city”

If you're looking for an interesting weekend getaway for some me-time, check out Eagle Point. If you're looking for a fully-updated, modernized luxury resort, this probably isn't for you. I spent a couple days in Manila for work and decided to stay the weekend to explore a new area. I'm so glad I stayed at Eagle Point who have tons of activities to keep you busy and also access to a private beach cove to help you disconnect with the world. From Saturday morning breakfast overlooking the water, Saturday afternoon beach bumming and snorkeling on Sepoc Island, Saturday evening sunsets and in-room massage to Sunday morning introduction to dive class, I was exhausted and refreshed all-in-one. While the rooms are adequate, the staff is super-friendly but still learning English, the food and services are priced at a premium, the experience of staying in Anilao was worth 5 stars to me. Know what you're getting into and manage your expectations. Make the trip the adventure you want. I definitely hope to come back here again.

Beautiful location...outstanding friendly staff...great food at reasonable prices

i can hardly say enough good things about our stay at eagle point...its heaven if you want a peaceful quiet resort to be with the one you love. i cannot say enough great things about the friendliness of every single employee. they certainly make their guests feel welcome likeyour visit with them is very very important. as long as you are not looking for a place with lots of activities at your immediate disposal you will love the beauty of the quiet atmosphere. we wanted to stay an additional night but regretfully they could not accomodate the last minute change...but they tried... we got engaged at eagle point and with any luck would like to get married and honeymoon there ! thanks grace and mark and each and every single employee for the "royal treatment" !!!

Eagle Point may be too remote for some, but for those who are looking for a little getaway, it’s perfect. You’ll feel like you’re in your own little world as you stroll through the property on a fine February afternoon, waiting for a sunset that’s every bit as beautiful as the ones you see in the resort’s pictures. While there is still room for improvement (some areas seem to be undergoing some sort of construction or renovation at the time; the refrigerator in our room did not contain snacks/drinks you can buy; my girlfriend also wished there was a hair blower available in the room), what Eagle Point currently offers through its excellent location and commendable service is an experience that is definitely worth the price tag.

Friendly Lobby and restaurant staff ”

view, the landscape, the very friendly staff, the swimming pools, view from the room balcony was awesome

Overall, our stay was great. The view was very relaxing and i would say that eagle point has one of the most friendliest and respectful staff i've ever met in our many travels all over the Philippines. The view and staff alone can already make one's vacation worth it. We are satisfied with the room as well, the balcony view, the room shower was spacious and the bathroom overall is great. The pools are clean and a lot of fun to swim at, and the reef pool i must say is a genius concept. We also enjoyed so much having been able to do other things like playing ping pong and billiards. There will never be a boring moment at the resort bec of the many activities it can offer. The only downside for us, i think is the dive rate, which is indeed very expensive. For this part, we consider it to be one of the most expensive dive packages we've encountered. Anyhow, i will recommended this resort to others for a quick relaxing getaway from Manila.

2nd visit with kids and seniors”

Good: 1. Has a beautiful private beach (Sepoc) great for snorkeling and freediving or beach bumming. Also has nice facilities/ gazebo 2. Sprawling main resort which is child friendly (except for babies in strollers or toddlers) 3. Resort overall has great nature and cliff views offering secluded, lush charm. 4. Relatively cheap 5. Very attentive staff Not So Good: 1. A room has broken shower 2. Long walks to rooms (from restaurant/lobby) would be a hassle for some people especially if it’s raining 3. Facilities are clean but clearly aging 4. The 2nd pool is closed 5. No more baby sharks in the saltwater pool (i guess they grew larger and had to be released) Overall, if you value seclusion + variety of activities + great price over modern/posh facilities of newer resorts, then Eagle Point is enjoyable.

            Very relaxing weekend getaway”

            Afordable, secluded, comfortable

Eagle Point Resort is about as far off the beaten path as you could ask. It is very secluded on the western edge of Luzon and has excellend diving waters in very close proximity. I was able to snorkel out to a dive sanctuary only 75 meters from the shore. My 5-year old daughter was delighted with the swimming pools, bird exhibits and beach walking. We will definitely return for a longer visit as my schedule permits.

            Quiet, Diving, Convenience

This was our second visit to Eagle Point and this trip was more enjoyable that the first. We had been raving to our friends about our first trip so two other families with their children joined us this time. It was a joy showing them around as first-timers and having someone to share memories with made the holiday all the more enjoyable. The diving was spectacular as always and very affordable. Looking forward to our next visit to Eagle Point next year.

Very and helpful staff but... ”

Your bed has bedbugs. I have taken a photo of my bedbug bites on my arms and legs to show management. We stayed in C-10. The toilet flush stopped working so we had to use the bidet hose to flush it down. But these downsides were balances out by your hospitable staff. Very accommodating of my kids' requests and they're very helpful. The shoreline infront of the resort is very rocky but good for snorkeling/free diving. We saw and swam with a sea turtle at around 5 pm in that coral garden at Eagle Point. The highlight of our stay.
