This is really a great place to stay. The staff is friendly, patient and helpful. They have washing machines and dryers, the showers are clean and water pressure is good, shampoo and body gel smell great. Even in an 8-person room you are comfortable, with two places to lock up valuables, a curtain to close off your bed space and even a sliding door to close off your section of the room (we were two, so we felt almost like we had our own room). Breakfast is nothing special, but definitely good for the price (toast, cereal, coffee, fruits). Highly recommended!

Best backpacker's hostel. Period.”
East Hostel is a little unassuming backpacker's hostel that is big on quality. The communal bathrooms were incredibly well furnished with good hot water shower flow. There is also washer and dryer on each floor (4 x 10NTD coin for each). The beds were capsule style and were incredibly well-designed and comfortable to sleep in. Overal, would even come to Yilan again just to stay in this hostel.

A Cozy Hostel Worth Staying”
The place, including the toilet and room, is clean and moderately air-conditioned. The bed is rather big for one person; lighting is perfect for the bed. The pillow and the mattress are perfect in terms of their softness-- neither too soft nor too firm. The locker outside is big enough for a medium backpack. I will choose to stay here again next time I visit JiaoXi.

Very nice comfortable hostel ”
The sleeping bunks were spacious and had everything you need, lockers provided were big enough to contain my backpack. Loved the shower and the toiletries provided - didn’t have access to the hot bath when I was there but used the public baths in town. Easily walked here from the train station (while coming), and also to the bus station (when leaving). Great friendly staff and morning coffee was a bonus. 100% recommended!

There’s lots to like about East Hostel, not least of which is its pricing in a town where accommodation is obscenely expensive. It’s also delightfully clean, and it’s well located just a stone’s throw from the bus station. However, there are some things that need improvement. The latest check-in time of 7pm is ridiculous. Going to another location to collect my keycard added 20 minutes of walking onto the journey. Yet when I finally arrived at the hostel at 10:30pm, there was a staff member behind the front desk. What the..?! The internet connection is hopeless. Not good enough in 2022. And finally, there are no hanging points inside or outside of the capsules. What, exactly, are you supposed to do with your wet towel? I will definitely stay here again. Let’s hope some of these issues are addressed by then.

Professional run facility”
Everything is well organized and the staff is very professional. The bed is comfortable and it is quiet thanks to fellow travelers. I just wish they have tea in the common area and the optional breakfast can be improved and the time served can be earlier.
