Where to stay in Eastern Mandalay
Eastern Mandalay hotels & accommodations

Really good hotel located in the eastern central city of Mandalay Pro’s: - spacious room with amazing view - large bed - clean amenities and overall very satisfying equipment - small but fine gym - good breakfast Con’s: - a bit offsite // but in mdl Downtown you won’t wander around but take a tuk tuk

My friend and I had a great time in Mandalay, and a big part of that was because of the amazing Hilton staff. It isn't an exaggeration to say I've never had a more attentive bar staff in my life, anywhere. It was almost comical how quickly an empty drink would be attended. A front desk manager even invited us out to a local pool party after work, even taking us out ...

First we spent 1 night when we landed in Mandalay. The service and quality were just right for the rate and we decided to come back upon our return to Mandalay. The room was spacious and clean, the bed comfortable. Nothing fancy but efficient. The breakfast offered a reasonable variety; the bread was good and the omelette delicious. The staff was attentive and friendly...

Our stay at the Rupar Mandalar Resort was glorious. It provided a comfortable, peaceful and enchanting setting in which we were able to relax after long and exhausting sightseeing excursions in the heat. The staff were friendly and ready to put themselves to any trouble to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The hotel was as much a highlight as the sites in and ...

This was the best hotel we stayed in Myanmar this time, value for money. It’s a pity we only stayed one night, just for taking the flight back to China. It's located in the east of Mandalay, very close to the Palace, the streets here were clean and buildings were new and modern, a lot better than the center of Mandalay, and you would see Mandalay Hill in your room. The...

Amazing stay! This is a brand new professionally managed hotel offering deep discounts as it builds up its local reputation (Book now while prices are still low!). I booked the month before my visit and only paid $10-12 a night (less than a "cheezy" dorm room)for a proper room with all the amenities you would expect in a nice hotel. The first thing you notice when y...

After disembarking about 5 a.m. from Myanmar's answer to the Iraqi torture chamber - the Yangon to Mandalay train, my friend and I limped into a 'taxi' and arrived at the Shwe Pyi Thar Hotel about 5.30 a.m. We hoped to store our luggage and find a spot on a floor somewhere so we could recover. However, after looking at our twisted, battered bodies the amazingly empathe...

A small hotel tucks in a nice quiet patch away from the buzz and rush in eastern Mandalay. It is low season, so i was enjoying the whole establishment by myself. It is a bit of a distance from everything, but 🚲 is available free of charge. I rode it for 2 days to explore the palace ( stopped at the entrance by rifle armed young soldier) and Mandalay Hills. The latter...

Very nice hotel. It would be nice if they would offer free water bottles like other hotels. They have something like "designer water" bottles and charge customers for consuming. They should just have regular water bottles (like Alpine, Oasis, regular brand) in a fridge. The weather is hot, people need cold water when they get back to the hotel. Putting some fancy ...

The reception was a bit slow in dealing with my bookings but he managed to retrieve it and checked-in. The hotel is a bit old but it's okay. Their breakfast is good as it's in the 7th floor with an overlooking view of Mandalay. Their motorbike rental is also very reasonable. Would recommend when in Mandalay.

This hotel is older styled and i enjoyed it, staff were good to me. It doesn't give you a real great feeling of being amazing in any way but its definitely very good space and if you spend most time out and don't need a view its one of the best value for money and under-rated hotels. Backpackers should pool money and share a room rather than stay in the low end crapol...

The stay in the hotel was almost perfect with zero mishaps. The entire 3 night stay there were only 2 issues. One issue was that the hotel seemed to also be accommodating a group of female locals (I think it was some form of conference) which meant that the dining hall was unable to be used for the first night's dinner and breakfast the following day which was very dis...

We arrived by night bus around 1am. From that bus station it is a ~2km walk, which we planned to do as the taxi fares were high (starting price 4k+, offered 2k when walking away). In the end, after walking away, a driver took us there for 1k (2 persons). On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and checked in. Reception was able to arrange onward travel even on sho...

I think this is a 3* hotel and as such represents good value. All the staff from the bell boys, front counter, maids, restaurant are extremely friendly , polite and helpful. The Western breakfast is the usual half-hearted attempt in SE Asia, but the restaurant does offer great local evening food at a decent price if you couldn't be bothered to go out. You have to be pa...

If you're planning on going to Mandalay, do yourself a favour and stay at this hostel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, clean washrooms, the staff are extremely friendly and eager to help, it has a great rooftop terrace where you can meet other travellers, and the pool is great for relaxing. I've been to many hostels throughout my travels and this is up there ...

It was my first time accommodating in a hostel and it has been a more than pleasant stay at Celia Hostel Mandalay. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable (we slept like a baby every night) and the management of the hostel was extremely friendly and helpful. They were generous with answers from our endless questions since it was our first time in Mandalay. The lo...

This is a good budget option in mandalay. We booked one night but extended it to 3. The staff went out of their way especially the two young boys who work the night shift - they made us laugh and arranged for some candles on my birthday which was nice. The rooms are relatively small but big enough to feel comfortable and clean with a fridge, snacks, tv and good working...

We had a very good time in Mandalay also thanks to our stay at The Rich Queen Hotel in the north-east side of the city. The family-run hotel is modest but clean and cosy, decent rooms with clean towels and sheets everyday. The shower might turn miserable, especially at upper floors level, but just need to ask the staff and they will sort it out quickly. Breakfast is go...

We were very pleased with our stay at Nadi Myanmar. It had everything we needed- wifi, tv, air conditioner (we used the heater since it was winter), hot shower, good breakfast, comfortable bed and it was very good value for money. This will be our hotel of choice whenever we come to Mandalay.

This is the third time I have stayed at the City Joy Hotel-- the managment is great-- the breakfast is excellent and the fooms are clean and well-maintained. The location is a little out of the city but the nearest cross street does have motorbike taxis and if needed the hotel will arrange a car. Possible drawback is that English is spoken by manager but otherwise limi...
