Cheapest I Could Find But Decent Enough for Rest and Sleep”
Pros: Good wifi, Cool aircon, Open 24hours - you can knock when you arrive past operating hours as staff is stay-in, Helpful Pinoy receptionist who helped us find something to eat when we arrived past midnight, Near bus stop which can take you anywhere in the city for just BD1.00 - Taxis are very expensive. Bus operations stop at 6PM. You need to make sure you know someone who has a car or you can try hitchhiking as most locals are helpful. Cons: Small room, not much to do around in the neighborhood as it is inside a residential block which most establishments close early, No toiletries provided, You have to ask the receptionist to change the towels.
Small Room without TV”
Actually the location, its not good for tour, its too far from tourist spot and only bus can access with limited time, it should only 6am to 6pm... but it is nice for night market, it is just walking distance...
Probably the smallest room I have ever stayed in .”
The room is 2 meters sq including the bathroom (and this was supposed to be a double room } It was not cleaned in the 7 days I stayed there . You have to literally sit on the toilet to take a shower . The staff told me they did not know how to order me a taxi for the airport . This hotel is up a very steep flight of steeps and nobody offered help with my luggage , although they could clearly see that I had a problem with my leg .
Moist room and city”
Located near Gadong Mall. You can find cafe, restaurant and any shop at this area. Gadong night market is 10-15 minutes walk, a must place to visit. Room is moist and not clean enough. No elevator so you must take your bag using stairs.
Very Small ok but the price not ok”
Ok Brunei isn't the cheapest Asian country to visit but really this place shocked me when I walked in, there is no service and past reviews suggested good, helpful people well those people have left we couldn't get any good info out of any of the two staff Im sorry. the rooms were small I mean very small but ok, then the bathroom was another story.....we survived I guess and thought Brunei was an interesting place.
4 out of 5”
pro - cheap cons- no breakfast and hard to find car park.small room and no desk table
Good Value in an Expensive Country”
No one could claim that Brunei is a low cost country. So, if you are on a b budget you need to cut corners where you can. You need to make compromises. Easybox is a good compromise. The room is not much larger than the bed! The bathroom is tiny by any standards. Yet, somehow, it all fits together. This is NOT a five star place, but for the price, I would definitely go back !!!!
Decent value for the dollar”
Brunei is an expensive place to visit, so if you are on a budget, you have to expect to make some tradeoffs. Easybox is a good tradeoff. The price is low for the city and you'll get what you need for a fairly comfortable stay. Let me be specific about what those tradeoffs are. First, size! Some matters! The room is ultra small. It's big enough for the comfortable queen size bed plus you get enough room to drop your bags, stand up, and turn around. Bending over to tie your shoes is a big challenge due to space constraints. (But it is cozy!) The hot water is only tepid. Not uncomfortable, but you won't want to spend long in the shower. In our room, the toilet did not work well. It was a challenge to flush the toilet. With persistence, we were successful. The WiFi was good. The receptionist was knowledgeable and helpful. Bonus points for him. Location is good. It is only a few blocks from The Mall in Gadong and the Night Market. Close to the bus.
Budget hotel in best location”
Best location near Gadong's business center. Good hotel amenities according to the price offered. However the room space is narrow and does not fit for prayer. Should the hotel provide a special room (surau) for prayers for the convenience of Muslim visitors besides Brunei is the Islamic state.
Pros : Filipino receptionist was very helpful in answering our queries re: transportation, tourist spots, etc, location is very strategic, walking distance to Gadong night market, mall, food shops & bus stop Cons: Weak internet signal Gadong is near airport but quite far from the city center. Taxi charged 25 brunei dollar going to this hostel from airport. If you expect to arrive at midnight, let the hotel know so the receptionist is aware and can wait for you. He stays 24 hours at the hotel as he's the only receptionist so if the door is closed when you arrive, just knock and wait or call their number.
Pros: Quick access to the airport which is 15 minutes away. Also access to grocery stores and eating places was good. The place is clean and the rooms and bathrooms small so be sure you are ok in constrained spaces when traveling. My room with a window faced the carpark so was noisy well into the night so take a room with no window if you are a light sleeper. Also, if you expect to get in after 11 PM, expect the place to be locked as there is only one fellow who manages the place and he needs to sleep. I found myself locked out so had to go across the road to get much more expensive accommodation. Also the place is about 6 kms from central BSB so if you are looking to be closer to Kampong Ayer and the center of town, you may find yourself doing a bit of to and fro
Lowest price I could find in that period of time in Brunei and the location is right in Gadong , few steps away from Gadong Centrepoint Hotel with lots of restaurants near by. The staff was nice and very helpful. Basically, the name tells everything. Good value !
The receptionist was helpful and friendly. The room was really clean. The location of Easybox Budget is comfortable to go to shopping and eateries in Gadong night market. But its was hidden by some apartment blocks made me difficult in finding out it.
Terrible. Scary. They locked the hotel completely without informing the guest. ”
They locked the hotel with padlock after 11.30pm. Just imagine I was outside of the hotel and cannot enter the hotel the whole night. This is horrible. At least that stupid Filipino staff should inform from the beginning during check in that he will lock the hotel completely at 11.30pm with padlock. I do read the notice at the hotel door that the hotel will close at 11.30 pm everyday but anyone with brain will thought that only the receptionist will be closed and the guest can still in and out of the hotel. Who will thought U will locked the hotel door with padlock if u never say anything. Still any other hotel including the nearby guest house only close their office (receptionist), not the whole hotel. This is my worst experience ever in my life. Horrible night and scary. Not to mention the room is worst too and the bathroom is so smelly.
Thank you for your comment.first we apologized for not informing you that the hotel is closed and totally padlock at 11:30 pm.second don't call the staff STUPID,our receptionist are not 24 hours duty, also the hotel not open 24 hours.as you mentioned that you read our hotel Notice, you are aware already that our hotel is closed.we put the notice in front and back of the door so that everytime you go out and go in you can read it.i think every Letter of the notice much bigger than your eyes, you should inform also the receptionist if you come back late so that he will aware.last you must be thankful to Filipino staff you call STUPID,because he help you to get inside your room.he force to broke the double locked of your room to get you inside, how come that your room locked inside without people inside of your room.? in almost 3 years working in hotel that was also the first worse experience we experience from the guest.
Location & Value For Money”
Location Neay Gadong Mall & Gadong Night Market.
Great for money. Quite cheap”
Small room but quite cheap price
Even as a budget hotel, they fall short”
I know what to expect from a very low priced budget hotel. It was a simple tiny room with a bed and a bathroom. The problem is their incredible dishonesty. They advertise TV in the room. There is no TV service in the room. They advertise daily housekeeping. There was none. They advertise free shuttle. There is none. The room was very noisy. The back side is a walkway where people are working, talking, smoking all day and night. Terrible. I asked them to arrange a taxi for me to the airport. They wouldn't. They told me to take the bus. My flight was at 8am and I had a 25kg. Suitcase. Not possible. Ridiculous suggestion. Pay the extra money to stay across the street.
Crazy small room”
Pay $30 for this small room, not satisfied at all
