Worst hotel experience i've ever had. Firstly, they gave us a hassle to check in because we booked and paid online. Secondly, the establishment needs a great deal of refurbishment and has no maintenance. We had a broken fan/heater in our room, an old tv that you can't even watch and the state of the place was just appalling. I am still shocked at the state of the place and the poor management of it. We decided to bear it because we had booked two nights and it was already paid online. I don't even blame the working staff as they tried to be accommodating but management don't know what they are doing with that place. I will never set foot in this place again.

Ecotel Benoni is suitable for quick stay overnight convenience but suffers from lack of overall quality of features offered.. from little things like door handles that are broken or missing, to worn chairs, no air conditioning in summer or barely working heaters in winter to tiny 80s like tv sets that dont even offer a dedicated news channel. Staff are very friendly and helpful and willing to assist. Upgrade these manageable challenges and it will become a fantastic quick stay option for general visitors.

There are no AC in rooms for a family of four. Imagine in a hot Summer. When we approached for a fan we were told next time sorry. This is not acceptable. Strange people are allowed to sit around in the lodge from the area this making the lodge unsafe. We were sitting outside like hobbos because the heat was so unbearable. Big cockroaches in the rooms. The lodge considered themselves 3 star no way I am not sure who past your stars though. Will never ever go back there and I will never recommend anyone to use this is not value for money.

Parking is a bit of a problem No wifi in room. No remote in our room. Not sure if you had to give a deposit with with remote. The place is nicely located near a big mall and close to N12.

In short: Dirty, loud, room too small. Staff doesn't care about guests! When I arrived the family room was very dirty. I didn't analyse what dirt it was on the floor but it was all over the floor. They guided me to another room which was much smaller but cleaner so I took it instead. The breakfast the next morning was not eatable! They prepared the English breakfast including side salat and were going to put it in the micro wave to heat it up! Sorry, but I expect a fresh prepared breakfast in a hotel! While I was waiting for the toast which I ordered alternatively, one of the staff members (gardener) was going to the buffet and helped himself to make a coffee which is for the guests! Nevermind they drink coffee but they shouldn't take it from the guests' buffet! When I got my toasts they already put margarine on. I don't like margarine at all! After that I decided having breakfast somewhere else. I recognised quite a lot of dirt on the carpet when I came back so I asked the receiptionist the next morning if they have a vacuumer available. Afterwards they made use of it daily as requested. The breakfast wasn't better the next morning so I was having breakfast somewhere else all the time. When guests arrived in the middle of the night (e.g. 2.00am), even the staff was talking loud and didn't ask the new guests to keep quiet which made we awake several times during the stay. Even worse, guests left one day 4.00am and their car was parking in front of my window. They left the engine running for half an hour and the receiptionist who was next to them (she was speaking very loud cause the running engine) hasn't done anything to stop it! When I checked out, I asked for refund for the breakfast and it was promised to do so. I haven't received any so far (one month later).
