Would definately stay again!”
When you first search for a hotel in Margaret River, you'll see places an hour away from town claiming to be in Margaret River or using the ambiguous "Margaret River 'Region'". The Edge Of The Forest Motel is just a short stroll from the river itself and the town. If you're looking for somewhere to spend your day in your hotel room or lounge by a pool with someone serving you food and drinks, this is not the place for you - however, if, like most people, you're looking for a good clean room to sleep while you spend most of your stay exploring the region or town, then this place is ideal! We had a spacious room for three of us with everything you could need (TV, DVD player, DVD library, microwave, fridge, freezer, dining table, air con, bathroom and even a huge gas barbecue for your use on the balcony. Being situated just off the main road in to town, you have the steady sound of passing cars but nothing that annoy you or keep you awake. To the rear of the property is the forest (as the name suggests) which has a path for a more scenic stroll in to town. For a shorter walk (or in the dark) use the front entrance to the property. I would be more than happy to stay here during my next trip to Margaret River!
Beautiful & Cosy Home away from Home”
Edge of the Forest has always been our go-to place whenever we are looking for a place to stay. Host Alan and Denise are always friendly, warm and welcoming; often introducing us to new places/sights. Rooms are beautiful, tastefully decorated, cosy, well-equipped and most importantly clean. Location of Edge of the Forest is also just a stone-throw away from the heart/town of Margaret River, making it really convenient for you to get your meals and groceries. Absolutely love this place and would recommend anyone who is visiting Margaret River to get a restful night at Edge of the Forest. Thank you Alan and Denise for making our stays at your place so wonderful. Looking forward to visiting you guys again!
Fabulous hotel/motel, great location.”
i travelled with my friend and father. we had a very spacious room with a double and two singles. the room was nicely decorated and the beds very comfy. the managers had just recently taken over the property and they were welcoming and friendly without being intrusive. our room opened out to a deck looking over the beautiful gardens, and we were a 10 minute stroll into margaret river, so a fabulous location. great value for money, in fact, so good, we stayed a 2nd night. would higly recommend the edge of the forest.
Great service & beautiful forest”
This hotel surrounding by beautiful forest and also just 5 mins walk to restaurants, bar and shops. Denise was a kind & lovely person who give us many info regarding the place to visit at Margaret River. She even introduce to us some beautiful scenery and a pretty seaside restaurant which we had our seaview breakfast there. The bush walk behind the resort was fantastic. We saw different type of wild birds. The room was clean & beautiful. They have poorer sound proof which i can understand and accept coz u were stayed at a resort with brick wall & wood floor. Overall, We had our fantastic stay there. Love the place.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Accomodation is cosy for family of 3. Room has microwave, fridge, cutlery, bowls, plates and utensils. Managed yo make scrambled eggs using microwave and turned out well. Bathroom is clean and well furnished with all the necessities even with a heater attached on ceiling. There was a double bed and single bed for my family of 3. In the cupboard, there were extra pillows and other necessities including a safe. Behind the motel is a pathway which is easily accessible and a small garden for guests to use. Owner also recommended a trail nearby this cottage. This motel is also about 5 mins drive to Margaret River Baptist church. Smallish town with a few eating places and shops here and there. In general, more expensive than Fremantle and Busselton. If u drive, can explore the nuts and cereal factory, chocolate factory, jam and winery. In town, there is a fudge factory which also sells nougat.
Many thanks for your review and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed the facilities provided.
The place to stay in Margaret River”
This is the place to stay if you ever visit Margaret River. We were welcomed by Denise the moment we checked in. She's the friendly go to person if you need any info on places to go in Margaret River. The rooms were spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. There's even an outdoor grill for your own little barbie party. Town is just a short stroll away and this makes it really convenient for you to get your food and groceries. We will definitely be back again.
An incredibly nice surprise!”
We booked this room for a one night stop over on our way to do some camping. It was the only place we could find that would accept a one night stay on a long weekend and hadn't imposed a minimum two night stay. At the low price we paid I was expecting (and ok with) it to be a budget motel, just somewhere to rest before continuing our journey. I was extremely surprised when we walked in and found a lovely large room, with a gorgeous bathroom! A huge shower, fantastic reverse cycle airconditioning, all the bits a pieces you need - even milk in the fridge from the owner so we could have coffee in the morning. Staying anywhere in Margaret River can be horrendously expensive (especially on a long weekend) and this was superb value for money.
Lovely little place with personal touch ”
I booked this hotel based on other reviews and I was not disappointed at all. It is a lovely little place from where you can walk straight into the forest and it is just outside the city center (still at walking distance). The rooms have a good size, although the bathroom is a bit small and all is very well maintained and cleaned with all the amenities you need. You have a little terrace for yourself and a garden with a barbeque for common use and the garden are regularly visited by some colorful birds. Denise is a great host with many tips to make your stay in Margaret River a memorable one. There is a huge DVD collection that you can use free and the internet use (with great speed!) is free as well. I would recommend this place to any of my friends without a doubt and will return here if I would visit this part of the world again!
Rustic & Close To nature”
The hotel was a gem. The room is really rustic, back to nature, and physically close to nature with lots of plants. The feeling was serene and so relaxing inside the room. Also, it was easy to locate the hotel, being on the main road to Margaret River. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Margaret River.
Nice, basic accommodation in Margaret River”
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights while we were wine tasting in Margaret River. The friendly staff welcomed us to the inn, gave us a very thorough introduction to the area (book of menus in the room, BBQ grill outside, map of wineries) and gave us a cup of fresh milk for our tea / coffee.
Friendly and relaxing.”
Owners very knowledgeable and helpful in recommending places to visit. The continental breakfast service was a great help, and the daily room service. Good walks in the forest just behind the hotel. Will stay again if we come back to Margaret River.
Very good accommodation”
Denise is very welcoming and very helpful in giving us recommendations to visit and to eat at. It is a good location of not being too within the Margaret River town so we don't get too much town noise, yet its also not too far away (walk 15 minutes to town). Nice secluded stay, had the view of the back-garden to enjoy wine and listen to nice bird sounds. Its also great that there was a big collection of DVDs to borrow to watch in the room for a chill-out-in-room-night. One big bonus is the bathroom had heat lamps, which makes the bathroom warm for a comfy shower (if you don't like feeling cold after a shower).
Pleasant stay ”
The apartment is exact to descriptions. The host Denise, checked us in. She was very welcoming and friendly. She went beyond expectations of a host. She told us where to go about in Margaret River, recommend a few restaurants to dine at. We were extremely pleased with the stay at the apartment and will definitely recommend our friends to book it. Will definitely want to come back again! Cheers
THank you Joelene for your wonderful commentsm we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and the advice. We look forward to seeing you again.
Great Location - nice B&B”
Comfortable room with a table overlooking the garden - nice for breakfast. The breakfast supplies provided were adequate but not fancy. The owners provided us with lots of good information which really helped us have a great visit to Margaret River. This is a lovely spot with gazillions of different wineries and beaches.
Thanks so much Miranda we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay.
nice room, quite near to downtown, friendly staff”
we have large and nice family room. the owner is very nice and friendly. she introduce to us margaret river attractions when wein to the hotel. they even prepare few books in the room, i.e where to dine in, places to visit and so on. we are very satisfy with their service.
Cosy and convenient ”
We stayed one night in Margaret River and we picked this great motel for the night. Owners were welcoming and had great info for the area. Room was spacious and fine for our needs. Wi-Fi is a bit hit n miss but not a major for us but maybe for others making plans. Do recommend this place - we'd have stayed another night if time allowed.
Really restful and relaxing location”
Room was lovely, welcome was warm and Alan gave us lots of useful information about the local area. Loved the flowering jasmine outside the bedroom door, lovely location, and easy 5-10 minute walk into Margaret River.
Cozy little motel at the fringe of town”
We enjoyed the stay at this hotel, and Denise was a wonderful host. The hotel is a 2min drive to the Margaret River township where everything you need is located. The rooms are clean and the gardens well maintained. It is clear that the owners have spent effort to maintain the property. Our apt faced the main road and it helps that the glass is double glazed, but light sleepers might be woken up by the morning traffic that starts building up by 6:30am. The apt has a microwave, fridge, TV, DVD and is well maintained.
lovely and peaceful place ”
Perfect place to stop over while visiting Margaret river. The lady gave us all the tips on the possible itinerary so she was nice and very helpful. Few minute walking to the city center whit plenty of choices for food. Reccomanded
Great place close to downtown”
We arrived after a long day of driving from Perth and stopping at a few wineries. We we're quickly checked in and given great dinner recommendations. We were walked to the room, which was right around the corner. We were only staying for 1 night but it had everything you needed - large room with 2 beds, with the heater going since it was a bit chilly. We were also given a flash light to use when walking down to a restaurant which was a nice tough. I totally recommend Edge of the Forest and we would of had more time to stay longer than a night.
