We had a wonderful 3-night stay at the Edgewood Resort in mid-October. The resort is perfectly placed along the edge of South Lake Tahoe and the atmosphere--fireplaces, pool, hot tub, facilities--could not have been more perfect. The resort is only 18 months old so it seems the staff is getting situated a bit. The turn-down service ladies were so sweet, but they came right when we were getting ready for dinner each night. In addition, we were disappointed in the wine selection--erath, j lohr, and meiomi (not that special) are the red wines by the glass--and our waitress could not offer advice on the bottles. When we chose a pinot from the Russian River Valley--and tasted it...we turned it away. She was not pleased with our disapproval--which created a bit of tension throughout the meal. When our bill came, the wine was on the bill. She said it was her mistake and took it off. When we checked out, the bill with the wine and the bill we paid without the wine were both charged.

Breathtaking resort with amazing views, equally wonderful staff that is very attentive and will go out of their way to assist you. Though near casinos, Edgewood is a mesmerizing resort that sit in a landscape filled with nature, views of the majestic mountains and lake, geese and more! Clean rooms, turndown service that always leaves you a beautiful surprise. Great restaurants with good choices throughout the day and a free shuttle that will take you to the village and other nearby places. Good spa and delicious hot chocolate! A dream stay that left beautiful memories to cherish for years to come!! Don’t hesitate to book, will not disappoint!

Loved the hotel”
One of my disappointments was the valet parking. They just did not have enough staff. In one case we waited 25 minutes to get our car while another person nearly missed their flight just waiting to get their car. I know the person did speak to the front desk and very little was done. The front desk was my other pet peeve. I am a meeting planner for a large corporation and used my vacation as an opportunity to review this hotel. When we checked the front desk seemed unorganized and was having a lot of personal conversation among themselves while we were waiting to see if there was a room available. Second I asked the front desk a few days later about sales brochures or contact for meeting space at the resort. The front desk said they did not have any and never supplied me with a name so I left very confused that they would not have that type of info or contact person. Third...day no one to check us out at 7:00AM. We had to wait for the bellman to find someone. Huh??

1st Anniversary”
Bought two nights for my daughter & son-in-law's 1st anniversary. They went there for there honeymoon a year ago and really enjoyed it. This trip was no different. I did say in the reservation it was their first anniversary & staff there knew & said Happy Anniversary but no one did anything special for them - which would have been nice. For the price of the room ($500/night) they could have thrown in a bottle of champagne or even just a glass of wine or champagne at the restaurant - something to make it special!

Great - even if you don't golf”
We were greeted with a glass of champagne and given a bottle for our anniversary. Customer Service is the best. They definitely aim to please. We asked for and received a lake view room, but when we got to the room, the welcome message was for someone else. Not only were we given the wrong room, but we were also erroneously BILLED for their room. To make up for the inconvenience, we were upgraded to a King suite. The location couldn't be better - on the ground floor, at the far end of the building. There was a weird issue with the design of the bed/end tables. Sitting on the bed, leaning on the headboard, somehow lifts/tilts the attached end tables, nearly spilling our drinks. The grounds are gorgeous. The pool and jacuzzi with the lake right there are spectacular. The free shuttle is a nice touch, too. Would definitely go back, preferably when the golf course is closed, to be able to walk and explore the grounds.

A little disappointed ”
I called 2 days in a row trying to get a hold of Eric from the concierge department because I wanted to see if I could get the room decorated but I never got a phone call back. Whoever picked up my phone call at the front desk said she emailed him twice regarding my call but I never heard from them. However, the facility is well kept, very beautiful. The room was average however the bathroom exceeded my expectations.

The only con at this facility was the service. There weren’t any big issues, more minor issues that seemed to get overlooked. For example, there wasn’t soap in the showers at the spa the containers were empty. A bunch of little things like that but they added up over our 5 days.

Nice place but some things arent right”
It is a nice place but our bed had previous occupants dog hair on it. Which gave my girlfriend a allergic reaction. They just apologized and took the pillow it was all over. They said a manager would call but no one did. That was just one problem. The other was the food downstairs. Paid 179$ and got sizzlers food. Where I should have got Ruths Cris food. You dont have to believe me. Try the place for yourself. It isnt all bad. I just dont recommend eating there and dont expect anything but a single apology if something isnt right.

Edgewood Magical Staff Not ”
This is our second stay at Edgewood and this time we brought a group of friends with us from the East Coast which is a long way to go to get to this property! They are cutting back on obvious pearls such as now offering a glass of Prosecco when arriving versus a glass of veuve. When you take their snowshoe experience to arrive at their VEUVE Champagne chalet you are offered what would be considered a minimal poor of a glass of Veuve! For the price you pay to stay at this resort cutting back on small pearls like that is a disappointment! Also little things such as upon check-in no longer getting a reusable Edgewood branded face mask. Some of the staff did not have that same familiar friendliness and charm as they did on our previous day. The most impressionable disappointment was Julia at the front desk! Keep in mind you’re paying a lot of money to come to this property to be treated as if you were being looked down upon… The concierge‘s team are amazing along with Valet and Bell hop employees! Also this property states they do not allow pets, I am not sure why it is the perfect place to have pets being out in the wilderness for most of the time you to stay at this property! Although you can have what they deem as “service“ animals. This is very interesting if you don’t say a keyword some things such as epilepsy or low blood sugar your flag from having your “service” animal during your stay! All in all we made the best of our stay unfortunately we will not be going back for a third trip.
