We love it!”
Aside from free airport transfers, upon arrival they gave us 3 complimentary drinks of our choice. We were supposed to stay in the city proper of Dumaguete only but since we felt that we need to unwind so we started searching online for a nice resort nearby. We read a lot of positive reviews here in Agoda about El dorado so withouth second thoughts me and wife decided to book our last night at the resort. Together with our 5 year old daughter and our nanny we were picked up earlier and even given an early check in. They were very accomodating, from the reception, restaurant & bar crew down to the owners of the resort. The ambience was really great and the place was very relaxing. We enjoyed the peaceful stroll at the beach and their swimming pool afterwards. Had a romantic dinner with my wife alone with some live music playing and a relaxing view facing the ocean. It was worth every penny and me and my wife agreed that we will come back for a longer stay like 3 nights and 4 days. Everything is just so perfect! I couldn't ask for more. Kudos to the people who runs the place! Not only for divers but for the whole family too. Even our daughter loves the place. Surely there's a hidden treasure in El dorado and that is called PEACE.

Loved the location, diving, and amazing breakfast!”
We absolutely loved our stay at El Dorado...enough that we extended our stay 2 times. The resort has a nice layout with great pool and pool bar and beachfront restaraunt serving delicious food and the best included breakfast we have had in our 5 months of traveling. The staff is so gracious and friendly and go out of their way to serve all of your needs. Free airport/ferry port pick up and drop off is a huge plus! The dive shop is professional and leads great dive trips. Even gave us a free T shirt when we checked out!! Would recommend to anyone in Dauin to stay and dive with El Doroado/Dive Society!

Fantastic food, helpful staff, cozy room ”
Never expect delicious food in PH, but I have to say the kitchen team at El Dorado has done a marvolous job, and we looked forward to eating everyday while staying there. The European cousine is just fantastic and in a fairly reasonable price. I'd recommand you eat there even you stay at the resort next door. The resort is in a traditional style, I just love that. They provide free pick-up to and from airport while Sea Dream charges 900PH per person. The staff are very friendly, I love that they call my name when greeting me. So, don't forget to tip before leaving. As to the room, remember to ask for a mousquito net. The bed is not that hard as some people said (we stay at the cottage delux room). However, be careful if they play movie in the pool bar, that will make you like sleeping in a theater. But we went there in low season, so it was quiet and lovely. The diving center doesn't belong to the resort, so there is no discount for guests of El Dorado.

Wonderfull place”
El Dorado is one of the nicest places where I have been in the Philippines. The owner and all the staff are very helpful, always there to make your stay perfect. The restaurant is great. They bake the best bread in Phil. The dive shop and training is fantastic. The place is very clean, spotless. The land, plants arrangement is very beautiful, the pool is great. The beach is clean and nice. I strongly recommend the place. You will enjoy every minute.

Perfect relaxing place. ”
El Dorado Resort has everything to make you enjoy your holiday. The personel makes you feel welcome straight away and does everything to ensure happy clients. The restaurant is nice, great view, good food, big platters. The swimming pool is very relaxing. The gym is huge. And everything is in front of a clear blue ocean.

Nice resort in Dauin”
Most resorts in Dauin are comparatively more expensive, probably because of their mostly foreign clientele. El Dorado is no different. I liked this property with its quaint, Hispanic village-like design. The staff were nice and helpful. I would have thought that the breakfast would be interesting given the mostly foreign guests that I saw, but I was disappointed by the limited choices. The breeze at the beachfront restaurant was a delight though.

Fun and plenty of sunshine”
Spend 2 days in el dorado, snorkelled for the 1st day and tried the TRY scuba diving on the second day. Good place to spend a few day in the sun. Patient dive instructors.

Slick run resort”
A well run Swiss owned resort. The staff were all excellent. The facilities were good as well. Primarily a dive resort. Food good, excellent breakfast good bars. Free pick up and drop off from the airport or port. My only small gripe was why the hotel charged for Wi-Fi, it was only 80 pesos per day but in view of how good the hotel was it seemed a little petty. Not the fault of the hotel, but for non-divers there isn't much to do around the hotel (i.e. nothing). This left it with a bit of an all inclusive feel. The beach is one of the worst I have seen and the sea is not great either.

Peaceful little resort”
We stayed in one of the smaller rooms near the reception and it was well designed and comfortable. Other than one somewhat creeper older man who greeted us from the porch next door in his underwear, and who was generally a little too forthcoming and talkative with other guests, this was a pretty mellow place to inhabit. We did not use the dive services but they were nice enough to loan us a life jacket for a snorkel trip booked through another company. The restaurant staff is very accommodating and will refill your water bottle for free if you ask - so you don't have to keep buying new ones and throwing away the plastic. There are some quirks at this place like charging for use of the ping pong table - I couldn't believe this. Consequently it sits unused. Don't overlook that you can get a free ride to the airport or ferry port in Dumaguete when your stay is over. There are

far from the city”
the Resort is ok, the room is rather small, but clean, and also the bar and the restaurant are ok. But it is quite far to visit Dumaguete, or another place. And scuba diving is much too expensive in the area of Dauin,

Good mid-range option”
Generally we were happy with the resort. It looks lovely and the staff there were very friendly. Ok so positives: good atmosphere, staff helpful and attentive, diving generally very good quality. There is a gym which is basic but a nice surprise. We would stay there again. Negatives: and these are generally minor. Standard room is small. As a couple you might find it claustrophobic after a few days. There was a gap above the door so I was badly bitten by mosquitoes whilst there. To be fair, reception did provide me with some insecticide but that and my deet didn't stop them biting me. Food was a bit hit and miss both in terms of quality and service time. At worst, we were waiting an hour for food. Diving generally was great but I did find that sometimes they overloaded the boat with snorkellers which meant there wasn't always a place to sit. The boat itself also struggled in the rainy, windy weather with everyone getting soaked and temporary stops whilst engine repairs were made. I recommend you don't bring anything with you which can't get wet or you invest in a proper waterproof bag. Underwater was great though overall. Equipment rental was pretty good quality. One thing I found annoying was that food preference was asked when you signed up but this is not inclusive and, I think, expensive. Over 400 pesos for a chicken BBQ is steep when the restaurant itself is cheaper. Whilst bottled drinking water is provided on board, note that you have to pay for this at the resort which I think is a bit unfair. Wifi signal is ok, both in the room, if you give your MAC address, and in the bars and restaurants

Good place for relaxing”
The "resort" has a good atmosphere with a good restaurant and bars . Standard rooms are quite basic, but acceptable. The dive center is well organized with good equipment, but the prices is far to high. Obviously they don't cooperate with other dive centers around, if there is too few for a trip then no trips that day. The " hours reef" is a black hole. They have tried to make som attractions by sinking a boat etc. but it's not worth diving at the so called house reef. Outside the resort there is nothing to go for.

Charging for everything”
Don't be fooled with the low price here since everything has a price. A bucket of ice is ₱35 where next door Pura Vida is free and they give you a big wine chiller bucket full of ice for free. A pool towel is ₱50 when it's supposed to be free. There were ants on the bed and cockroaches in the bathroom. Cement beds with ill fitting cushion weren't that comfortable since it gets cold because of the air-conditioning and when you touch it you'll surely wake up. They have a curfew of 9pm for outside guests. They're very strict about it. I had a friend from Dumaguete who visited and they had to ask me 3x by 3 different people that it wasn't allowed. Then they finally allowed. When I was also with my friend the guard kept lingering around. This was happening even if I told them to photocopy my friend's ID. They should allow visitors especially those who won't overnight. In other resorts they allow. I understand it's a security measure but they should be more considerate.

Go there only if you are a diver”
The hotel is ok, the food is good and cheap but they should call themselves "Dive resort" and not "beach resort". The main problem is that if you are not a diver, they don t take care of you or propose any other activities. Also if you are not a professional diver then I would not recommend to go with them. Some security rules are not totally respected so as a beginner I would not trust to go with the master divers I've seen. Luckily we could do little bit of snorkeling but again we had to manage by ourselves as snorkeling is not considerate there. Next time I will go straight to siquijor

Lovely clean and comfortable resort”
Perfect. I would reccomend it to anyone who wants to chill out (although the beach is black sand, the pool and bar areas and grounds are delightful. Diving seemed to be really well organised although I was too lazy to actually go out, even so it appeared very professional and other guests were enthusiastic.

Fantastic”
We loved our stay and are returning again in two weeks. Everything about this resort is first class. You will feel like you are staying at 5 star hotel except for the thin foam mattressespecially. If you like a firm bed no problem. The food is outstanding and the dive instructor was the best you could hope for. Great place to get certified with a protected reef right there at the beachfront restaurant. You will love it here even if you are not a diver. Brent Carlson. Canoa, Ecuador

Nice enough resort just isolated”
It's a nice resort, well manicured lawns, but very far from the city. There's no other option but to stay here and eat in their restaurant because you are isolated. However I give credit to their restaurant, great food and extensive menu as well. This area is heaven for divers. I guess this resort is good for honeymooners too. And I think they need to put more brighter lights and a service phone inside the room. The staffs were very helpful and friendly.

A Good Resort for Diving!”
Although the resort is rather far away from the city (30min travel time), so far so good for dinning inside the resort. There is no denying that it is a very good place for divers. Their staff of the dive shop is very nice, and all guys take care every divers very well. I will return there for my next dive trip in Dumaguete.
