We enjoyed and had a lovely time in the hotel. The breakfast was great because we had at least 1 proper meal in a day. Staff were very courteous and tried to assist us as much as they can (with smiles on their faces). The room was clean and they changed the towels, amenities, and the yukata everyday. The location is just a bit far from the train stations (Shinjuku-gyoenmae station is about 10-minutes walk and Shinjuku station is about 20-minutes walk). But it is in a quiet residential area so we got a good night rest. We would recommend this hotel (if walking doesn't matter to you) and will probably stay here again.

Very small space. Well laid out. Comfortable for one. Tight for a couple. Difficult for more than two. Small grocery across street. Mini fridge and water warner for tea. You need to bring coffee and milk. Tiny but functional bath. If you are 6 feet watch your head.

The hotel room is very satisfactory, perfect for two. Well presentable and they have what you need. Staff are great and respectful even they are quite challenged communicating in English but they strive hard for it. Location wise- it's okay, but quite a long walk from the train station. So if you're bringing big luggages, it will be a long walk. But overall, this hotel is a great one and well recommendable.

Pros: - Cheap for the room size (can open several large suitcases and has mini fridge, TV) - Provides all necessities in the bathroom and more (soap, shampoo, conditioner, brush, toothpaste, razor, towels, tissue, hot tub, robes) - Surrounded by several convenience stores and vending machines - Quiet and clean - Good value for its location (around 15 min from Seibu Mall, etc) Cons: - The area is slightly uphill which is bad if you have lots of baggage. - The couch is kinda dusty

Great Place to stay in Tokyo!”
This place was great! Now, it's not a luxury hotel, but it's pretty dang close! One person room is small, but enough room to move around and rest between my adventures. Staff was wonderful. Bathrooms nice. Great location near trains, Shinjuku, the gay district, and a lot more! I would def stay here again the next time I travel back to Tokyo!

Worst hotel I've ever visited”
The room was filthy! I had to grab a vacuum cleaner from a maid and redo my entire room! There was long hair everywhere in the room, in the carpet, bathroom, desk etc. The entire hotel reeks of stale cigarette smoke and the staff were not interested in helping us. We requested a cancellation from the hotel (except the first night) and book another hotel and they flatly said no. They even refused to try to find us another room or even to have our room cleaned again. Terrible, terrible hotel!

This Hotel is located only a fifteen.. Max twenty minute walk from Shinjuku Station.. In short you could simply stroll with your bag to the hotel if you're using the trains or shinkansens to get to shinjiku from the airport or any place else. Extremely polite staff.. Excellent breakfast buffet, clean decent sized rooms by Japanese standards of course, reasonably priced.. I paid around a 110 USD a night for a room with a beautiful view on the tenth floor.. The Shinjuku Gyoen Gardens are a ten minute stroll away.. Kabukicho and the bustle of crowds, shopping, nightlife etc are ten minute walks from the hotel.. I'd say this is a definite yes.. I'd recommend it anytime and they're also very polite and accommodating to foreign nationals. The English spoken is fairly good.. The staff very helpful.. The room service excellent.. I even used the washing machine and dryer though a note of caution.. Dry for three cycles to get effective drying.. A HUGE thumbs up 👍 anytime.

A very little far from the station, but I felt it was okay. During coming to this hotel, I could see the residential street of Japan, and it was one of the best experience of this trip. And the a female member of the front desk who helped me check-in was a person with very sociable manner. Had a good trip due to this hotel.

big room when compare with other”
for me, the room is so impressive (maybe the last one is too small) and the vending machine is not expensive, you can drink evian in 110yen. all facilities is ok but my room there are a little problem on air-con and toilet. however I can stay because the weather outside is cold and I can use tissue paper instead of shower toilet. the location is quite far from Metro, you need to walk uphill so I recommend who come to this hotel with the huge luggage from JR Shinjuku station, just take a taxi then you will arrive in 5-10 minute, approx. 1200yen. when you need to go to airport, ask the hotel staff to call the taxi and bring you back to JR Shinjuku for N'EX, it would be great than walk with big luggage.

Good Hotel in a good location and good services.”
Stayed here for 3 nights and I must say it is a good hotel with a great value for money, considering it is situated in a prime area in Tokyo. The hotel is located about a 5-10 minute walk from a Tokyo Metro station, Shinjuku Gyommae or a 10-15 minute walk to the huge Shinjuku train station which houses just about every connection you can make within and outside Tokyo. It is also close to the main Shinjuku shopping strip. Invariably, there are many dining options in the area that are no more than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel rooms are rather small, but thats to be expected in Tokyo but it is very clean and well maintained. There is free wifi in all rooms and it is rather fast. Special mention to the buffet breakfast, which has a variety of selections, from the usual western fare to a Japanese fare and the core dishes to change from day to day. Rather impressive for a 3 star hotel. Overall, a good hotel to stay in, in a good location and good value for money.

Cheap hotel with hospitable staff”
hotel listel shinjuku is arguably one of the cheapest hotels within the shinjuku area, 5 mins away from the nearest metro station and about 15 mins from shinjuku station. it is proximate to convenience stores, restaurants, coffee places, etc. as with most hotels in japan, rooms are relatively small but pretty much expected.

Great hotel in great location.”
Great hotel in the heart of Shinjuku. It's a little hard to find but my room was very comfortable with a great view of Shinjuku. My only problem with the hotel is that the staff was unable to help me when I ran into a problem. It's a great hotel for if everthing goes right with your trip but if you run into any problems the staff does not speak any english and did not understand any of my questions. Also when I needed a cab upon leaving they politly told me that due to the hotels location most taxis had trouble finding the hotel so I would have to go flag down my own taxi on the main street. Other than that the rooms were very clean and comfortalbe. Also there is no way to set the tempature in your room. You can only change the level of the air conditioning.

Good location and spacious room”
after checking out from e-hotel higashi-shinjuku, i was pleasantly surprised that the room at hotel listel was so much more spacious. in terms of subway access, you'll need to walk about 15 min to either shinjuku-sanchome station or shinjuku-gyoenmae station. it is located in a small alley so it's very peaceful. the interior is very vintage and the hotel needs upgrading. the room is clean despite some cigarette-burnt holes on the bedsheets and couch.

he hotel is a perfect choice for travellers as it is situated near the city center. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is very nice and extremely helpful but u might face some problem communicating in English. Breakfast is wonderful. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to going there again.

Stayed here on a recommendation from friends. The hotel is a clean, comfortable and well located. House keeping and front desk staff are excellent. No room safe however. Very compact bathroom, very similar in size and feel to the one on the flight over! There are many good restaurants in walking distance of the hotel, look for the red lanterns. Pork noodle soups have become a favourite. Subway station is close by however read the transport instructions on the hotel website for exit details. The subterrainian walkways are a maze. Definitely a hotel I will return to.

After initially having difficulty finding the hotel I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this well-run hotel which is really in the middle of everything, but out of the noise of central Shinjuku. There are some very nice, well-priced restaurants in the vicinity where the locals dine in a very friendly atmosphere. I will surely stay here again.

Best Biz Hotel in Shinjuku”
The hotel staff are very efficient, pleasant,and helpful,and their fluency in English is good.The rooms are bright, and clean with all that one needs in them. This hotel is conveniently placed for train access, and a good array of reasonably priced Japanese restaurants of all types of cooking. I will stay again at Hotel Listel Shinjuku on my next trip to Tokyo.

the hotel maybe small but the location is super, is very near to shinjuku station, many good places to walk by on the way to station.. the hotel is clean, many convenient store around the hotel. This is also very accessible to the night life in shinjuku. We can just walk about 5 minutes. The reception staff is very friendly eventhough they cannot speak english well. Recommended hotel for budget traveller.
