3 φορες πακετάραμε τα πράγματα απο τον 1ο στον 2ο και στον 3ο όροφο. δεν ειχε ζεστό νερό ο 3ος όροφος. το προσωπικό δεν ξερει αγγλικα, μονο με google translate. ολοι μερα παιζουν με τα κινητα τους, δεν μας βοιθησαν 3 φορες με τα πραγματα, μας φωναξανε να τα παμε μονοι μας. δεν θελαμε να πηγαινουμε απο τον 2ο στον 3ο οροφο λογο aircontition τεχνικης βλαβης και μας ειπαν οτι αμα θελετε αλλιως καντε check out. Εκει κοντα εχει καλύτερα Hostel σε καλύτερες τιμές. Απαραδεκτοι

At first, it was a little hard to find a way, but the residents showed me the way on the street, so I found it. The staff is very kind. I was so grateful for all the heavy carryers up to the higher floor. There's no water in the room, so you have to get it from outside. The room is clean and equipped with disposable shampoo and body wash. Since it's a dawn flight, I went to a cheap place to wash and rest for a while, but I'm taking my last trip with ease. Thank you.

I booked double bed room but they give me twin room. No English channel on tv. When i booked on agooda they showed the facilities such as free drinking water, welcome drink,after noon tea but nothing is like that.They provide you nothing and when I asked about it they said that is our old policy.Breakfast is ok but without coffee or tea. Window view is nothing deep in the street at pub street. And last they have not any lift

Location was very hard to find as it was located in a small street with a lot of guesthouse which cant easily find. Breakfast is good as they also provide fruits and the coffee was tasty, I never drink coffee because it has bitter taste but for their coffee is perfect. The staff was friendly but very limited english.

Great neighborhood to experience local culture”

The alley is great, just be prepared to look for it. Sadly there was no tea or coffee with the breakfast.

Good hostel quiet location in the noisy traffic's Saigon”

Very kind staff they upgraded us for free to family room. Beds and mattresses are good latex . Cold aircon and roof ventilator as well. Good breakfast egg sausage tomato fruits and fresh French bread.

Budget friendly hostel”

At first the hostel is hard to find since its located in an alley but people nearby knew it The hostel is strategical located in the heart of saigon where night life is nearby and easyway to book a tour .

Good location, value for money and great staff”

Saigon Smile Hostel is located at an alley between Pham Ngu Lao and Bui Vien Walking Street. The location is perfect because even if it is in the party area, you won’t here the noise of the backpacker streets, especially at night. In terms of price, you get what you pay for. We booked a double room but we were assigned in a triple room. There’s free breakfast, too. Breakfast choices are good. Chuoi, one of the staff, is really kind. We arrived at around 2 am and he allowed us to check in. He definitely lives up to the name of the hostel as he always smiles. He was very helpful to us. He even prepared and packed breakfast for us earlier than the breakfast schedule because we had to catch the bus to Cambodia early. Take note, he was the one to volunteer that he will pack breakfast for us. We were supposed to just buy in a convenience store because we didn’t want to bother him early in the morning. We will definitely book here when we visit Ho Chi Minh again.

Good location, friendly staff ”

Stayed in a private room, nicendecently clean. The staff chin was so kind and helpful in ways to get around town, and places to see. Great free breakfast if included, and very close to all the night life, but far enough that it won’t keep you up at night. Beds aren’t the comfiest but all in all nice stay, thanks again.

Pleasant surprise”

Saigon Smile was a pleasant surprise! The room was basic but cozy with lots of natural light and had a good bed and aircon, a small but nice balcony, a TV, a fridge and a coffee maker (though no coffee provided). It's in an alley just off the backpacker street, very quiet at night, and near everything. Staff are friendly and easy going, rooms are cleaned daily and breakfast is good. Check in and checkout were very efficient. Only bad thing was the Wifi that let me down several times.

Good basic hotel in a cosy alley near the backbacker street but not noisy. The staff is VERY helpful and friendly:) breakfast is included, they have a motorbike for rent and they can help you with tours and travel plans. I would stay here again if in hcmc.

Location is near everywhere. The room was kept clean, they do housekeeping everyday once you get out of the room. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They treat you as a member of the family. Serves good breakfast for free.

two thumbs up for this hostel”

The hostel was strategically located at the heart of Saigon City wherein you can only just walk to get through in TAKA PLAZA, BEN THAN MARKET, BACK PACKERS STREET and lots of bar and restaurant. We also just walk to get through the city tour like Independence Palace, Notre Dame and Post Office. Me and my friends enjoyed staying here in 2 days and 2 night and I will definitely recommend this hostel. They offered free breakfast with unlimited coffee and tea. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. They also arranged tour in Vietnam with hassle free.

OK if you need shower and bed”

Hotel was OK if you just need a shower and bed after your flight. It's probably a good option if you want to stay in this part of the city. But honestly I don't understand why tourists are squeezing in this dirty crowdy Pham Ngu Lao backpacker area of Ho Chi Minh. We later moved to Dong Khoi central part where all sights are located which is cleaner, less crowdy and offer a few budget hotel options available on Agoda which are much much better value for money.

The best motel in Pham Ngu Lao area”

Yes, its true. I find this motel offers the best value compared to all of my stay in HCMC. However, if the shower with heater, it would be perfect. Note to ladies, this motel is located in an alley accessable via "Hem 84", so please be careful and don't stay out too late.

Great place in the heart of SAIGON”

This is a nice little hotel in the center of the tourist area of Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel is priced very well for what you get. The room is huge, with balcony. The shower is good, with good pressure. The staff were very nice and smiled and helped me with everything I needed. I wanted to stay longer, but they were fully booked. Stay here, and you won't be disappointed.

because of flight delays i didn't arrive until after 1.30 am! the staff were very friendly and helpful. because the hotel was full i was put into a neighbouring hotel two doors down. my bags were carried upstairs for me which i really appreciated at that time of night. my room looked down over the alley way - great to sit and watch life from there, especially first thing in the morning. i had a scary incident with a taxi while i was there and mentioned this to one of the family, who then insisted on accompanying me out onto the street and organising taxis for me. i loved staying here and would do it again!

former reviews mentioned that this hotel is hard to find. i disagree, when on pham ngu lao just look at the housenumbers going up from east to west. 219 alley is next to a bakery (a good one). when on bui vien it will be number 84.

Professional owners”

Very well located but the room was incredibly basic and not overly clean. Our toilet leaked and just generally a bit grubby. Unfortunately we had a major issue during our time there but the owners and also the guy working the night shift handled the situation very professionally and competently so I must give credit for that. Issues aside I just feel there would be better options in equally good location. Breakfast was included basic eggs and bread situation but still nice to have something to eat before you go exploring for the day.
