The Ideal Place to Stay In El Nido”
Mahogany Beach resort is a quiet beachfront resort located on Corong-Corong Beach. The beach itself is beautiful and perfect for sunbathing, dips in the sea as well as for eating and drinking. It is a five minute tricycle ride to El Nido town. The resort itself consists of seven bungalows, four smaller style with sea view and three larger style bungalows situated towards the rear with no sea view but had a nice little garden area with hammock beside then. The design of them really fits in with the surroundings. We booked as a group of nine and spent most of our free time during the day and night at the gazebo, which over looked the pool and beach and had a bar there. The pool, though small is an ideal size for the size of the resort and the perfect place to relax as it never felt overcrowded. The surroundings are just stunning with the beach to the front, mountains to the back and trees everywhere. The bungalow we stayed in was spacious, had a massive queen side bed and modern shower room with the hottest water I’ve experienced in the Philippines. No issues with mosquitoes, as long as the door is closed, air con worked well and WiFi is adequate but always worked when needed. There is no TV. The mini bar was always stocked up and was really good value. Breakfast was served to us every morning at a time of our choice. The selection is limited but what they had on offer was ideal and tasty. The owners, along with all the staff and their dog are all really friendly and hospitable and really made us all feel welcomed and at home like it was our own private resort. Whether you are a traveling as a group or a couple, this should really be the number one choice to stay for anyone visiting El Nido !!!
Lovely stay in a beautiful location”
We have recently returned from our trip to Mahogany Beach Resort in El Nido and had the most amazing time. The resort was about 10 minutes tricycle drive from the harbour and we stayed in a lovely cottage near the beach front. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed including a safety deposit box and a mini bar. We had to give our breakfast order to reception the night before along with a time and this was brought to our terrace each morning which was a lovely touch. When leaving, we took a flight from El Nido Airport. It took 30 minutes on a tricycle from Mahogany Beach and cost 350pp. As we were leaving earlyish in the morning the staff called one in advance for us which was really helpful. The staff at Mahogany Beach were all extremely friendly and informative. The grounds were lovely and clean and the pool area was spotless and even though the guard dog looks scary, he was a big softie!
There's nothing to fault! The staff are so friendly it's amazing. The manager Joseph is simply the best hotel manager I have had the pleasure of meeting. There is nothing he won't do for your stay. We booked our tours through him and our 5 hour journey to Sabang. I don't think Mahogany can do without him. Yes the wifi is slow and at times simply dead...but it's also good to take a break from technology. The sunsets are stunning. The room was large, clean and modern. A lot of hotels only cater for 2 people when it comes to towels and glasses in the room irrespective of how many are paid for. But, Mahogany catered for the 3 that were booked and to me that's very import. They invited guests to their staff Xmas party which included an amazing amount of tasty food and free drinks. What hotel does this these days! There are Monty eating places to choose from along the beach. Breakfast is served at your huge patio table in the morning, you just order what you want the night before. El Nido proper is a short tricycle ride away. The beach isn't necessarily a swimming beach but Mahogany has a lovely pool. I would without a doubt stay here every time I come to El Nido. Thank you to ALL THE STAFF for an amazing experience!!!!
We loved our stay at Mahogany Beach Resort. The grounds and our room were beautiful and clean. The view of the ocean is gorgeous and the pool was nice. The breakfast was served to our bungalow and was delicious! The air conditioning was very strong. The bed was big and comfortable! They arranged fantastic in room massages for us as well. The owner and entire staff were very kind. The location is fantastic. A 50 pesos ($1) tricycle to the main El Nido town but we enjoyed staying in Corong Corong. It’s quieter and more picturesque. There are also a bunch of nice restaurants within walking distance. We would 100% recommend staying here. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer!
Luxury rooms and superb spot! ”
Mahogany Resort was a great surprise! The rooms were luxurious and better in person than in pictures. Really spacious, large comfy bed, brand new bathroom and great air con. Also a big deck out the front with lounges to relax on. The resort is right next to the water for lovely views, although you can't really swim at that beach. The pool was fantastic and there is a poolside bar for ultimate relaxing and cocktails in the in-water chairs. The location is nice -only a 5 minute tricycle ride from El Nido town, and a 10 minute stroll up the beach for a cool strip of cafes and restaurants, and a little further up for waterfront beach bars to watch sunset from. The staff had great service and were very helpful, even packing us a take away breakfast for an early morning flight when we left. Would definitely stay here again!
It's their service that makes the BIG difference”
If there is one thing that stands out in our stay with El Nido Mahogany last week, its the sincere and responsive service that the staff has provided even before our arrival. Everyone was smiling, thoughtful, engaging and most of all provided an excellent service to us, even if it is beyond their call of duty. The rooms are clean, well-maintained and private. It's like having a 5-star villa without paying a 5-star price. Areas of improvement-- they could consider adding a television in the rooms, lunch and dinner meals, and a faster internet connection. Unless the hotel wants to maintain its positioning as a "retreat heaven" with minimal presence of technology. Overall we are very happy with our stay and would like to thank Valerie, Joseph and the team who made our trip extra memorable. Cheers!
The best accommodation we saw in el Nido”
Absolutely loved our stay here, huge rooms, super clean, great views in 5 out of the 7 rooms, we stayed in room 5 which I personally think was the best s you had a view of he pool and the sea. Gardens are gorgeous. Staff are all lovely. Breakfast is served to you own huge terrace at whatever time you wish. I couldn't recommend this place enough, honestly it was just fantastic. 6 min tricycle ride into El Nido centre (50 peso, approx 80pence), when you see what some of the accommodation looks like on the way into el Nido and in the town itself you will be very glad you stayed at the wonderful Mahogany resort.
From the minute we arrived here at Mahogany to the minute we left, we had nothing but positive thoughts and feelings about the place. On exiting the busy main road down a side road, we entered this beautiful oasis. Full of towering palm trees and gorgeous greenery with a small pool. The resort is really quiet, especially at night. Literally, everything was explained to us upon checking-in. Wifi in our cottage was a bonus. The morning breakfast deliveries of our choice was a nice touch and if you’re a fan of coffee, Mahogany’s coffee will sure satisfy your needs. The staff are so polite and do a really good job with cleaning the rooms. I wish we would have stayed an extra night or two while in El Nido. This is definitely an amazing resort to stay at and brilliant if you’re looking for some relaxation.
El Nido was amazing”
What an amazing place El Nido is. The gateway to Palawan. We based ourselves here & then done private charter day trips to Palawan. A much cheaper way to do it & we had access to civilisation for our stay. This place is right on the beach also & very close to the town & nightlife. We hired a motorbike for very cheap & visited all over the El Nido area & saw all it had to offer as well as experiencing the majestic beauty of Palawan's islands. This was well researched & I highly recommend to follow our footprints. Very seasoned high end Travellers
El Nido Mahogany Beach Resort is very relaxing place, quiet and the staff of course is friendly and respectful to their guest..So I recommend mahogany for those who would like to explore El nido which is the best place.
Amazing experience with Pool Villa”
Our stay at Mahogany was simply amazing. After a few days in fairly average hotels in El Nido, we decided to move there. We were welcomed by their staff at reception in the best way possible. It is a small hotel but so peaceful. No bars which initially feels strange but everything is there and the staff will be more than willing to help you with any request. The room style is traditional but very clean and comfortable. The small pool outside the villa is amazing to relax at the end of the day with a drink. The view on the beach is beautiful. Such a good experience there, we wish we stayed longer!
A nice place to stay”
Our stay in El Nido was one we both enjoyed. The team at Mahogany are very friendly and helpful, I could not fault them. The place was clean and looked good just like the pictures. We were wowed when we first showed up. The location is also nice. It's outside of the main town but 50 pesos gets you a ride in to the centre. However, given the price paid, there are a few things that I would improve. 1. The mattress was very firm. If this was a little softer I would have slept much better. 2. The WiFi is so slow. You can barely do anything with it and you cannot access in your room only the pool area. 3. The breakfast wasn't quite up to it. The longanissa was more like chorizo and the tocino was too sweet. The real test of a place though is would we go back here again if we were in El Nido and the answer is probably yes if we are have the extra budget(this was a birthday present for my girlfriends 30th). It helps now we know the Art Cafe has good WiFi and we can get breakfast there too.
Our stay at El Nido Mahogany is very good, what really made the experience worthwhile was the staff that were very accommodating and fast. The place is very good, located barely 10 minutes away from El Nido town proper. The rooms are very cozy, rates are really worth it.. Will definitely choose this on our next visit.
It was an amazing experience to be hosted by Mahogany Beach Resort. Its simplicity and good taste for decoration gives the resort an paradise-like mood. The staff is also very helpful always ready to help in whatever you need. If you have the chance eat there, the food is really good and reasonably priced. The only two improvements we would suggest is to improve the wi-fi connection (although this was a minor thing it is annoying to have to connect to the wi-fi server every 5 minutes). Another thing Is that we asked to pay by card and they said that they just accept cash and in the end it was possible to pay by card and we had already paid with money. At last, we book the bus to puerto princesa at the Hotel's reception for which we paid 600 PHP pesos and realized later that the other passangera of the bus only paid 500. These are only small discomforts ee felt because all the rest was unbelieveble.
Perfect getaway resort”
This is the perfect resort for those who wants to seek a relaxed atmosphere away from El Nido town. The resort is located in a nice & clean part of Corong Corong beach (personally my favourite beach in El Nido), right next to La Plage - a nice beach bar/restaurant. Yet is is only 10-15 mins by rickshaw to town/main bus station. I totally enjoyed my stay at the resort
The El Nido Mahogany is situated away from the hustle and bustle of El Nido which is perfect is you want peace and quiet. You can hop on a tricycle to grab a bite (there aren't many restos near the resort) for 50 pesos per ride. Our villa was clean, staff were quite friendly but wifi connection is intermittent. There wasn't also a bidet in the toilet which to me is something very basic and should be a given with the 9K plus pesos a night to stay here. Overall, I think it's nice but overpriced.
LOVE THE PLACE SO MUCH”
It's very rare to see a place like this in El Nido, the place is very well kept and it's a proper resort. It's beach front although the beach isn't very nice which is expected, but the view was amazing. The pool is such a plus too, it was so nice to just chill there. I stayed in the cabana and it was amazing, the bathroom was really nice and everything was well put together. It's also away from the town but the distance is just enough to be travelled through tricycle which was very convenient and cheap.
We stayed 3 nights in a bungalow overlooking El Nido Bay (room #6). The view from the private terrace is simply breathtaking, with gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. The owners and staff are extremely kind and helpful, breakfast comes with a wide range of choices. The lush garden gives the whole property a very pleasant atmosphere. The room was simply furnished but clean, with a ceiling fan and air conditioning. The terrace comes with a hammock, table, chairs and small bench. The bathroom is a bit spartan but also clean. Water pressure in the shower is rather low, but that seems to be the norm throughout El Nido. The only drawback is the distance to the downtown area (15-20 min on foot along an unpaved road) - but that's the price you pay to stay in a really quiet place. Also, the hotel has a very friendly driver who can drop you/pick you up at the edge of the town for a small fee. All in all, a very satisfying stay, I would definitely visit again.
Thank you so much for your terrific comments following your recent stay with us at Mahogany Resort and Spa, El Nido, Palawan. I am delighted that you had a wonderful stay and left with such positive impressions. It is very gratifying for all concerned with the hotel to receive such positive comments and it gives me great pleasure to hear that your stay was such a great success. I look forward to welcoming you back to stay with us the next time you are visiting El Nido. Palawan
Superb Place, Food & People”
There are no cons, absolutely all PROS! Two thumbs to this place, villas are exquisitely built, well-thought of and very cozy! El Nido is a paradise and this resort gives you a front seat access to it! The food, people and place made our trip and stay excellent... and oh the occassional brown/black outs? Theyve got a generator in the resort so no need to worry! This power outage, IMO, accents El Nido’s charm, makes u appreciate an unplugged moment and adds to its mystic!
Very good place to stay, it's perfect if you're looking for some privacy and from my point of view it's better than be in el Nido town, Mahogany is 5 min away from town so no hassle at all, breakfast in your own terrace, etc...
