A slice of paradise”
location. one would go to el nido, palawan for r&r and to get away from the hustle & bustle of work. this goal was met by el nido resorts, miniloc island. the hotel is situated in a secluded cove that can only be reached by an outrigger boat from el nido town. it's peaceful, serene and quiet. a perfect getaway from the stress of the city. the beachfront the miniloc island is fantastic! awesome really! just bring your snorkel and walk a few steps from the shore and you're immediately in the beautiful marine world with nemo and his friends. different kinds of fishes can already be seen from the resort, no need to do some island hopping though that one is also something fun to do. we were informed by one of our guides that miniloc island used to be a dive site years ago. hence, the vast variety of fish and sea life living in its area. food. amazing! we booked for the "fullboard" option which meant that buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner were included in our fee and man did our bellies get full! it was a gastronomical treat! the fruits were always fresh. there were many varieties of food to choose from. the hotel has to work on shifting their grill area though. the smoke enters the dining area & annoys the guests. we had to move to a different area of the resto, away from the smoke. staff. the staff in miniloc resorts were nice, friendly and they always respected your privacy. had a hard time communicating through email with their representative from the manila office, though. i have received confirmation about our room booking from the manila office but not about the boat pick up. i had to call a couple of their contact numbers before i was finally able to speak with somebody from the resort in el nido to ask about our boat transfer. it would be great if the resort had a 24-hour hotline or online assistance service. overall, we enjoyed our stay. probably because my husband & i are outdoor enthusiasts. we were happy but not ecstatic.
Amazing location and incredible staff”
from the moment when you get out of this tiny plane at el nido's airport and you see this bunch of local women singing for you to the moment when you step into the boat and see the whole hotel staff singing and saying good bye from the peer, you're surrounded by incredible people caring about you and making sure you're enjoying your stay at el nido resorts miniloc island. staff in this hotel is probably my best experience in the world in terms of service. but let's start with the beginning. the hotel is located on a very nice paradise remote island close to el nido. you get there from el nido's airport with a small boat. everything is arranged by the hotel. as far as i remember, also the transfer from manilla to palawan was arranged by the hotel. location is incredible: blue green water like dotted with dozens of small uninhabited islands with karstic cliffs. if you want to explore the surroundings, you can book a canoe at the hotel (for free) and paddle up to the lagoon (only 5 minutes). amazing experience. i went there for diving. the diving centre was very professional. i did a lot of dives, including night dives. during my last night dive, i got stung by a sea urchin. i was immediately taken care of by a doctor, who permanently works at the hotel. he gave me the right treatment and i was fine the following morning. food as the hotel was very good. it is served in a buffet-style. but the staff is preparing the dishes in front of you. the chef shows up every day for lunch and dinner to chat with customers and gets something ready for you in front of you on a simple request. my room was the only disappointing point. it was very simple, even a bit old, decorated in a local style. it was not uncomfortable, but not really in line with the price paid. the hotel's owner has another very nice hotel (with a large swimming pool and a very good restaurant), just 15 minutes away by boat. you can go from one hotel to the other very easily with the shuttle.
A Unique Adventure”
There are not many ways to get to El Nido on a short timeline, and ITI does not make it easy to book flights to and from the island. Definitely leave yourself some time prior to the trip to book your flights- it took well over a week for us to do so. Email was far superior to the phone- you need to book your stay at Miniloc or Lagen before they will book you onto a flight (if you book on Agoda have your confirmation info ready). Once that is done your trip will be well worth it! Miniloc is a true adventure- despite the steep rates most activities are included, and the friendly, efficient staff are there to guide you to whatever you have signed up for during your visit. Right in front of the Miniloc resort is the reef where you can snorkel and swim with the massive jackfish. There are kayaks that you can take to isolated islands to explore- the pure white sand beaches, coral reef, and limestone cliffs with nooks and caves are pretty cool. The tour of the big and small lagoons cannot be missed- if I have one complaint it would be that we didn't have enough time to explore the lagoon by kayak (the kayaks are shared by all who arrive on the boat). We booked a picnic lunch on Entalula (?) island and it was awesome- great food, snorkeling, hobie cats, and beach bar. Since there really isn't much 'beach' to speak of on Miniloc, this is a great place to spend the day sunbathing and playing beach volleyball. Boats run between Miniloc and Lagen resorts, so you can pop over to Lagen to swim in the pool, hike, or eat at their restaurant. The food on Miniloc is good- we opted for a la carte as opposed to the buffet. We stayed in a beachside room on the ground floor- the second floor units would have been better since the wall of windows right in front of your bed are a bit intrusive as there is constant foot traffic right in front of your room/bed. All in all the 4 days, 3 nights (not too long, not too short) we spent at Miniloc was a perfect end to our stay in the
Miniloc Island was amazing!!! My sister and I have been planning our trip to El Nido for months. When we came across El Nido Resorts Miniloc Island they offered everything we were looking for. Every penny was well spent. The privacy, the boat tours, the adventure, the food, the happy hour and the staff was incredible. El Nido Resorts is the only way to experience El Nido! I didn't want to leave. You're treated special and the staff know you by name. We plan to come back and bring our parents. Thanks so much for the trip! And a special thanks to ANDY!!!
If you are going to El Nido, stay here! Here's why”
The staff are amazing, easily the best we have experienced in the whole of this country on all the trips we have done here. The staff and their service beats anything at the 5 star hotels in Manila AND they don't have the tendency to hang around like flies watching you eat like you can experience when people try to go too far with service here in the phil's. The organisation of your activities by the activities coordinators is excellent. You already decide in advance for what you want to do for the next day so you can always be at mind that you won't let the time slip by! And the staff have great suggestions to help you maximise your stay. Because we stayed for 7 nights, our activities coordinators were kind enough to allow us to see some other things that most guests may not have time to do, such as some sights at matinloc island. We really appreciated the staff allowing us to do this because it's quite far and we would have used a lot of fuel to get there. We also visited Lagen resort which was really nice and if you're trying to decide where to go, perhaps this advice will help: Lagen was very quiet - It's atmosphere is more for honeymooners and if you're wanting to meet other tourists or be social, perhaps this isn't the right place for you. It's possibly more beautiful because it's newer but there's much more charatcer in miniloc's wood than lagen's concrete. Plus miniloc allows you to be social whilst maintaining the feeling of escape that honeymooner's might be looking for. So Miniloc is the perfect mix! I recommend Miniloc over Lagen for everyone except those who want only peace and quiet. Unless you're looking to get drunk with other tourists every night or you're on a tight budget, then you should consider somewhere in El Nido town. But if you're prepared to pay a bit more for the most incredible holiday of you're life (and you should because every dollar here REALLY IS worth it!) then Miniloc is the place to stay! PS the food is AMAZING
very nice high end expensive all inclusive resort”
El Nido Resorts Miniloc Island is very very nice. The resort is all inclusive except: 1) Drinks. Only water is included 2) Scuba Diving. 60USD per dive. Pretty expensive by any standards. 3) Private tours. We didn't care because the resort was mostly empty, so the group tours were usually us and maybe one other party. Day tours took us island hopping which was a lot of fun. The staff was 10/10 incredible. There was a doctor on site that saw my friend and gave him antibiotics for 7USD. The resort is right next to the best snorkeling and diving in the region. The other day trips take you to their sister resorts which are also 100% jaw dropping. The other resorts had sail boats we could use. Overall- yes it was expensive, but there is nothing else like it in the region so its hard to say it wasn't worth it.
My partner and I recently stayed at the El Nido Resorts Miniloc for her birthday, and had a truly wonderful experience there. From the moment we arrived to the welcoming and beautifully performed music from the staff, we were made to feel like valued guests through and through. The resort itself is stunning; the setting gorgeous, the rooms and facilities well made and furnished, and the whole setting made to fit in wonderfully with the paradise surrounding it. The activities here are plentiful, whether you want to go on one of several guided tours daily (usually timed to avoid conflicting with other tourists), or you want to take one of the free kayaks and snorkelling gear and head out to find your own fun (we did, and some of the highlights of our stay were snorkelling the awe-inspiring coral reefs by ourselves). The tours were also excellent, and special credit must go to the friendly and knowledgeable guides who kept us entertained and informed throughout the day (and who took some great pictures for us!) The food at the resort is also fantastic - each of the three daily meals provides a good selection of high quality and varied food each day. You will also want to take some extra spending money for all of the mango smoothies, they are worth the extra cost! A personal highlight was seeing how environmentally conscious the resort was, while still maintaining high standards of care for the customers. Also, the small touches, like the custom bed decorations laid out after cleaning, and the birthday cake and beautiful song provided for my partner on her big day, were the perfect finishing touches to an unforgettable holiday. The staff here should be highly commended (and well tipped!) for their constant friendliness and infectious smiles! Wholeheartedly recommended holiday destination.
Luxurious resort set in stunning natural beauty”
We loved El Nido and Miniloc was the perfect place to enjoy our stay. We spent two nights in the beachside room and two nights in the deluxe sea view room. If you can afford the deluxe sea view - the balcony and privacy are truly worth the splurge! The beachside room was also very nice with modern fixtures but we didn't have a terrace (we were on the ground floor) and the location of the beachside rooms doesn't afford much privacy, but the views of the beach and water are amazing. Either way, you can't go wrong. We have heard that Lagen's rooms were more concrete and modern, but we appreciated Miniloc's natural looking rooms. The pictures don't do it justice. Upon arrival, we were truly taken care of by all the staff and especially our activity coordinator, Rona. The staff organized everything for us from dropping us off to kayak in the big and small lagoons, to a private beach picnic. We will definitely return to El Nido someday and stay with the El Nido resorts again. The only thing I would change is instead of the sprawling buffet, a chance to request certain items the day before for dining.
Terrific hotel but rooms/bath need renovation”
our experience in miniloc resort was unforgettable! truly a wow response to the spectacular beauty of the el nido marine reserve.the service of all the hotel staff- waiters, busboys, front desk people, the persons who scheduled our activites and the ones who accompanied us on all our activities-made our 3 nights at the resort so much fun.this inspite of the fact that we were stranded in the resort an extra night because of typhoon pablo.the food was so good and chef michael's tlc and attention to the guests wishes were commendable. we really enjoyed ourselves at miniloc and would highly recommend the visiting the resort to all!
Our Family Reunion at El Nido Miniloc”
Our Family reunion held at El Nido Miniloc Island was undoubtedly an enjoyable and sucessful gathering of the family. With a large participation of 19 family members, the the well planned schedule of recreational activities which formed part of the package contributed a lot to our having to have activities done together for the entire group. More particularly with the tie up with BPI Privilege card we were able to enjoy a free wonderful setting dinner at Miniloc Island for the family. This was my fifth visit to El Nido and I still enjoy going to both resorts of El Nido both Miniloc and Lagen Islands.
Piece of paradise ”
100% recommend El Nido Resorts. We stayed in a beachside room at Miniloc island for our honeymoon. The food was excellent, activities were awesome, sights were UNREAL (our favorite was small lagoon), and the customer service made us feel so taken care of. The whole experience and service was above and beyond what I expected. I can’t wait to go back and visit again.
Our most beautiful experiance in the Philippines was here. ”
My wife and I spent our 2nd wedding anniversary here at El Nido resorts on Miniloc Island. We loved every minute of our stay. It was beautiful beyond our expectations . We are booking our next Anniversary to stay at El Nido Resorts on Miniloc Island.
Beautiful resort set in a magnificent setting”
we stayed at miniloc resort in the garden cottage for 3 nights for our honeymoon in el nido. the resort was in the perfect setting, right infront a back drop of beautiful limestone cliffs. our room was right on the beach, it was clean with an island flare. the lagoon tour and entalula beach club are definitely must sees. the only complaint we have at the resort is probably the food. i would recommend bringing some snacks if possible.
Beautiful island resort ”
Amazing island resort in El Nido, Palawan which is a truly gorgeous part of the world. We really enjoyed our stay so much so that we extended for a day. The staff to guest ratio is quite high and they're very attentive, from reception, recreation and dining staff. We stayed in a garden cottage which is a little on the small side. I think all of the cottages have a balcony with Filipino-inspired decor (capiz, rattan, dark wood) and a foot wash for cleaning sandy feet which I really like. Bathroom needs to be cleaned more (dark grout in some parts) but the turndown service is really sweet as it was our wedding anniversary and they made these towel bear creatures with matching greetings made of leaves. Activities are all inclusive so all one needs to do is choose what to join, reserve and get there on time. Kayaking, snorkelling, paddle boarding, island hopping, jack fish feeding were all included making it a really relaxing stay for us. I cannot recommend more.
Wow!..but the staff made our stay”
i visited miniloc with my filipina partner, and what a wonderful place! we fell so much in love while there..it is a powerfully romantic setting. my partner was amazed at the genuine friendliness of all the staff, and we met wonderful people whilst there. the activities (all-inclusive) were amazing..nothing is a problem. the food was wonderful and the full-board option is well worth it. the garden cottages are cosy but nice. if you want to be treated like royalty - visit el nido resorts. we also visited apulit island resort (same company), and they also share the same goal of making guest feel welcome and special and providing an unbeatable vacation.
Unmatched Service, Unbeatable Location”
I first went to Miniloc over 20 yrs ago when the bathrooms were communal and I've stayed at Lagen and Apulit which are a bit more upscale, but I love Miniloc the most. While all the El Nido resorts will offer the same tour of Palawan's fabulous attractions and the same range of activities - i.e island-hopping, Lagoon explorations, beach picnics, etc. - I think Miniloc's staff alone would go out of its way to provide a Guide to take my 9-yr old snorkeling or kayaking whenever me and the hubby couldn't accompany him. Lagen undoubtedly has finer food, larger rooms and plusher surroundings and facilities but Miniloc's better house reef and its conscientious staff make it my preferred resort. My son didn't even notice that there wasn't any TV. He was just so thrilled to (almost) complete the Eco checklist of creatures that might be found in the area. Plus, in my many years of scuba diving, I have never had more than a single fleeting encounter with a sea turtle. We hung around with one for nearly 20 mins, just snorkeling in front of Miniloc. We'll be back. My son made us promise!
Very relaxing environment & great staff!”
I had a wonderful time in El Nido Resorts Miniloc Island. The staff are well trained & provide excellent service to all guest. The services were personalized and excellent. The resort also goes all out in environmental sustainability.
Marvelous place with picturesque view around”
there is a nice restaurant with a good choice, great service. the very friendly staff every day take you in a boat to different islands and coral areas for sunbathing, swimming and snorkeling, it is included in your staying, as well as a perfect buffet lunch on any islands during your daily trip. you can take a canoe at any time free of charge and visit the nearest small bays and beaches. there is no place for swimming at miniloc beach, no a swimming pool. the coral area surrounds the island-resort. in december 2012 they started making a stairs for going down from the pier for swimming above the coral. you can see different corals, fish and turtle close by miniloc and neighboring islands. there is no the sun after 3p.m on miniloc’s territory. each room has a mini-bar and air conditioner, a bath room has all amenities and a body lotion. there is no a kettle and tea, coffee bags in the room. it is worth to spend money for staying there because of nature.
Stunning location and world class customer service”
Our visit to El Nido was unforgettable. The place is just amazing. The beaches and lagoons were stunning. We got to swim with a sea turtle, hundreds of colorful fishes, and the enormous jacks. The staff at El Nido resorts ensured that we experience the best of the different islands we visited. All the staff are well trained and very friendly. They will give Disney World resorts's staff a run for their money. Although this resort is a bit pricey, it is worth it.
Awesome El Nido Resorts Miniloc Island ”
this awesome resort makes me proud to be filipino, we got the full board accomodation and indeed cant ask for anything more. we love our tours, food and the staff are awesome. we went to entalula for a lunch, we visited lagen its sister resort and made visit to the different attraction el nido have - big and small lagoon, cadugnon cave, vigan island, pinasil island etc. heaps of activiteis indeed and all taken cared of by them. from the time they pick us up at the airport to the transfer to their island, had a wonderful experience..defintiely one should visit this place
