best vacation”
I can only say praises to this resort. The service and the location were impeccable. Of all the hotels I've visited this one's my favorite. El Rio Y Mar made my Papa's 66th bday a memorable one. Special shoutout to Chenee and Janine from their Manila office who was able to hand me the polo shirt I left in our hotel room. Service is top notch. It's just so heartwarming to see everyone greet you with genuine smiles. Please try to snorkel in the resort at around 8a. The variety of fish is just.. WOW! I loved it! Free snorkeling, kayak, snorkeling masks, fins, volleyball, hiking etc. What more can you ask for? Can't wait to get back!! PS My dad and I were the only ones who travelled. I chose solo traveller because I felt that it was the closest option.

Staff that became family!!! ”
The crew at El Rio was more than accommodating. We were treated like family, and the resort was always so cared for and nicely kept. We were welcomed with a song, and seeet tea. It was so hard to leave. So many things to see and do!

Excellent”
It was an excellent place to stay and would not hesitate in recommending it. But the only complaint I have is, paying to get to and from the hotel, surely the boat transport should be included with the hotel price. As a customer why do I need to pay extra to get to you and pay again to leave you? Otherwise the staff were very attentive and helpful.

Nice serene place for unwinding”
Lots of staff, all the time, everywhere. Interestingly, there are 2 house-keeping sessions a day, one in the morning and another in the afternoon from around 3 to 4pm, where they leave you a snack. Slightly disappointed that the hobiecat and darts weren't available as they were all broken. Hiking was hell. The "15 minute trail" is a lot more difficult than what it seems. It's more of a precarious and difficult soil/rock path with only the sturdy bamboo railings covered by ants to hold onto. You will sweat buckets. (This was the "Easy trail") Only enemy to watch out for is a loud buzzing insect. Shoes would greatly benefit you here. Exertion and intense heat aside, the view is absolutely amazing. The sight of the clear waters contrasting with the intense green patches of corals makes you want to soak the scenery all in, double-takes are not enough. Not much shade at the top. If you really go for all the activities, you would be done with all of them within a day or two. Not much else to do there (free of charge activities wise). Lots of marine life, even in shallow waters. Beautiful skies, lots of stars (and mosquitoes) It's quiet and peaceful all the time, a nice accompaniment for lying in the hammocks and chairs. As for the dining experience, there's a very talented man who can play amazing guitar, and sing in all sorts of languages (Eg. Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, etc.) Absolutely brilliant. Food is alright. Drinks are great. Soaps and lotion in room smells funky. There's no conditioner.

Excellent Stay”
Definitely recommend the resort. I loved the place and the staff. Unlike other reviewers, i found the menu to be ok, some dishes were excellent others were just ok. Room was nice, Staff was super friendly and plenty of activities too. Gym definitely needs an upgrade and some maintenance.

Great island ”
The beach is perfect, as long as you're not expecting the sand to be as powdery white as that in Boracay. The resort also offers a lot of activities such as kayaking, billiards, table tennis, snorkelling, swimming pools etc. The beach also has a great view of the lagoon and sunset. Very relaxing. The staff are very nice and polite. There was even music band group who greeted us when we arrived and also sang for us before we left. Our plastic stroller luggage (well known international brand) had a crack after it was transported from our room through the boat to the airport.

Unforgettable vacation”
El rio Y Mar, is a one stop resort, they almost have everything you need to see outside this resort, ambiance is superb, courteous, efficient and friendly staff. The food is delicious, their buffet breakfast food are different everyday. Stand up paddle boards and kayaks are free to use, anytime you need it. They have their own diving site and instructional diving facility. And the most captivating is their floating spa, you get to enjoy underwater view while having your massage. They have a snorkeling site with 100s or more different kind of fish and corals. Each cabana have different themes, we were in the Cedar Room and its fantastic, cozy and relaxing even if there are no television sets in every room, it's alright, wifi is free. I could go on and on saying good reviews, but one thing for sure, you will be relaxed and have a really good time in El Rio. Another thing, they also offer tours outside the resort if you want to explore more. You will enjoy the resort i promise you.
