Nice remote location”
The staff went out of its way to make us feel welcome. The facilities were nice and internet worked fine when you could get on it. Considering you’re a captive audience and have to eat and drink at the resort the prices were not out of line with a remote location any place else. We booked a fishing trip and t consider that way, way overpriced. They claim they have fishing rods but the truth is that your arm is your rod and your hand lining. The hooks were so dull that fish had to try very hard to get hooked. The targeted fish were 4-8 inches suitable for aquariums and pulling 180 feet of line gets hard on your shoulders after the 5 or 6 time. They call it bottom fishing but we were not targeting bottom fish. It was an expensive 4 hours of fishing but the scenery was breathtaking. We will not fish at this place but stay on the beach or have a massage at on of their floating gazebos. That was a nice experience.
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING”
The staff are just so accommodating. There was a lizard that went in our hut at night. around 11pm and someone came down to help catch it. when we arrived at the hotel, they welcomed us in the most awesome way possible. view was great. they also have free transport service you just need to tell them. WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK HERE WITH MY BF.
I had a wonderful stay at this resort, very calm and relax place surrounding with beautiful view of ocean and mountain. Price's reasonably good in my opinion. The floating spa is a very nice touch. Also the only place that provides good and no fuss tour to see the dugong. Staff are friendly and foods are very good. I would like to come and stay here again if coming back.
Resort is ok. Airport transfer is not ok.”
Be very careful when booking your airport tranport with El Rio. The van is not private and they squeeze in 12 guests and luggages in one van. They are likewise not open to feedback as I have received rude responses when I send them an email.
Loved my time in the resort! Everyone was so friendly and the food was delicious!”
Wish I could stay longer! Will definitely be back!
Peaceful, quiet, off the beaten path ”
Pros- excellent snorkeling, kayaking, diving.... very romantic if you want it to be. Cons- you are committed to the resort for all your needs. We stayed only 1 night.... the plan was to stay 4-5 days but the place was booked. I’m thankful for that. Its very reclusive. The only way in is by boat. A night or 2 in this resort is plenty for me.
Perfect Place for Time Together”
A highly recomendable paradise, everything in this resort are good, welcoming staff and manager, quality of food is a hotel standard, ambiance in every area are romantic, leisure and activity are accommodated and perdect panoramic view
Home away from home”
This is my second time in the resort and it never fails to mesmerize me. It's not just the beautiful scenery but the impeccable customer service. The staff here are the kindest, most accommodating and friendliest people I have met. From housekeepers, frontdesk, boatmen, security, all were smiling. This is my home away from home. I will keep on coming back.
Friendly staff. Food is fresh and good. And the nature is not pollutet as in Coron center and the Coron standard turist attractions. The sea water is clear. Internett connecction is good. Its good place to rewind and relax 2-4 days. Warning no TV :)
A gem in Coron!”
I had a wonderful stay at El Rio YMar! Very peaceful, friendly and efficient staff (shoutout to MS THET!) , cleanliness is close to perfection, and most of all very relaxing. Availed of their Coron Island Tour and our guide was Andrew. He was very nice and accommodating. More power to El Rio Y Mar! And kudos to the very well trained staff! ️
Great pools but if you’re a beach lover not the place for you.
We loved the hotel and wish we had more time here. It was a bit of a drive (and boat) to get here but it was totally worth it. The facilities are super nice, food is good, great cocktails and staff is the best in the island! You feel you are in your own private beach. We barely saw the rest of the guests, except for meal times maybe. Everyone does their own activities, either in the hotel, diving or touring around the island. You get to relax by the beach or pool or just jump to the ocean and snorkel all day by the bay. Trust me, you can't go wrong with staying here. The town hustle is not worth to see and you will just waste time to relax here.
Already Planning for the Next Trip ”
They allowed us for an early check-in without even asking for it since the room is already ready including the extra bed for my child. The food is well-thought and tasty. They are so pricey so prepare your pockets. The buffet breakfast is very filling too. We haven't tried diving. For those who cannot do so, like us, could still enjoy looking at so many sea creatures from above or just by snorkeling. They are so plenty. Maybe it's because the resort respects and takes care of them. I don't know about the other room types but I would highly recommend guests book the cedar cabana. Love the privacy and it's right beside the pool and the restaurant without getting disturbed by any noise from those facilities. Creaky floor boards but doesn't matter. Everything is clean! Just try not to eat inside the room to keep insects, especially ants out. The staff are awesome. They keep the place up and running well. LOVE how they take care of the place and the guests.
We were pleasantly surprised to say the least. From the time we were picked up at the airport there was a pleasant sense of the unknown... the adventure had started, the boat ride the welcoming the remoteness the setting the staff the whole experience by far exceeded our expectations. Just brilliant! A special thank you to the wonderful staff!
El Rio Y Mar is a lovely resort and is more than what you could ask for. They made us feel welcome and taken cared of from the time we arrived up to when we left the resort. Staff are really helpful and courteous. I love the fact that they give out bamboo straw to guests, they think of nature- simple act that but with great impact. Free kayak use, videoke room. The infinity pool is gorgeous as well as the bar. There is a hiking trail with pretty views for sunrise/sunset. Had massage in the middle of the sea - which is a perfect way to relax! I suggest you put in spa music. Overall satisfied. Will stay here again!
Will come back for sure!”
Good value for money! Closely located to the domestic airport. Staff are really very friendly and accommodating. Loved that SUP and kayaking water sports are free! Highly recommend to travelling families.
Great place to get away”
Staff are friendly and will do their best to care for you. Food selection is rather limited though and caters more to an international audience. However, you could purchase seafood from their stock and have it cooked the way you like for a cost that is actually cheaper than ordering from their menu. This is rather unknown to the guests and you will have to ask them. Facilities are great but expensive if you plan to go island hopping in the Coron area. The resort is in a secluded part of Busuanga island located in a cove on the northern part of the island. It is a destination in itself and the area caters to the higher end side of travellers, scuba divers (they have a well established diving center) or those who wish to have a quiet time with nature. As for me, I particularly enjoyed taking out their Hobie 16 sailboat and kayak. This is my home away from home.
Best resort Stay ever!”
They will Make you feel at home. It is refreshing to see a hotel that serves their guests with passion and out most attention. Truly the much needed escape from The busy city life! Only sad part is the cost of transfers which is not included in the stay. Staff were excellent. Facilities were well maintained. We felt safe, well cared for! Will surely come back!
An Awesome Private Getaway”
Everything was great except the food served. Granted there are no other options availableto eat at except the resort and prices charged for the food served, i expected to get better cooked food and better options. Most of the options were pork and beed and hardly were there seafoods served granted the resort is right beside the sea!
Excellent private resort”
Very attentive and knowledgeable service. Dive master was very helpful and gave great snorkelling advice. Great food and beach amenities. Had on-site pharmacy. Rountrip transfer needs to be booked in advance. Bathroom had a wet laundry smell.
