Come for Augustine, stay for the good times.”
Augustine, Location, quite clean.
I visited in 2013, and had a great stay, 3 years later I had returned, prices had gone up a little bit, but the place is still very comfy, very well located, and of course you are amazingly greeted by Augustine who genuinely cares, and is truly the best of good fellows on Princess street. Great budget hotel.

Cheap and friendly. Pity about the extreme damp”
The owner was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. It is very well located.
As far as a cheap Indian inn goes this was pretty standard but very clean. The owner was very friendly, even when I arrived at 6am. There are no loo paper or sheets included and the water is cold. You flush the loo with a bucket - but all of that is pretty standard.
What I struggled with was the extreme damp. The room really smelt of damp and mould. The plaster was falling off the walls as a result of it. Perhaps if you get a room with more air it wouldn't be so bad. Mine was on the first floor (one up for Americans or those who count the ground as the first) and faced into the courtyard. Thus it was dark with little air. I felt very congested and unhealthy in the morning.
As I say - a pity as everything else was fine.
