Luxury Resort with Value for Money”
Great holiday at Elaidhoo last week. Stayed with my husband for 3 nights. Resort is quiet and clean. Food was acceptable, will be better if more beef/pork in the menu. Sealife was great - we saw reef sharks and manta rays below our water bungalow. Was hoping to see some sea turtles as well. My husband went diving and he said house reef was good. Some resort staff were very helpful. Others needed to be more friendly to greet guests at all times. Kudos to Samuel at the Bar, Madawa at the Bar, and Kelly at the Reception for being extra friendly to us. Will recommend Elaidhoo to family and friends!

Nice laid back retreat”
Clean rooms. Food is ok. Speedboat ride is 1.5 hrs long and bumby. Staff is ok. No nightly entertainment. Suggest all-inclusive.

Great holiday but maybe not for honeymoon. Avid diver's paradise because of their amazing house reef”
-people working there were fantastic. They went above and beyond for every single guest in the resort. -facilities were great, especially the house reef. Wow. -all inclusive package is more than enough. Premium all inclusive we upgraded to wasn't worth it. PAI: You can have milkshake but only vanilla, strawberry or choco.Fresh fruit shake is extra. mini bar incl. but only beer! -the way it's structured isn't guest friendly or efficient. Ticha and Kelly did their best but it was just a lot to remember. Wording in the info sheet isn't clear and misleading. -food repetitive. Lots of meat but limited fish (tuna/king fish only) -despite being asked @ check in for dietary needs (pescatarian) resto staff didn't acknowledge or seem to know. -too many upselling in the resort: seafood dinner:$ prawns:$ beach dinner:$ etc.. -snorkelling rental only up to 6pm. Kurumba resort offer 24hr rental from time you rent -resort is nirvana for diving enthusiasts but it doesn't have a honeymoon vibe for me.

Firstly, wow what an amazing experience. But being the Maldives you expect the best of the best and that's exactly what we got. We stayed in a beach villa which was amazing. It was very private, and intimate. Rooms were clean, and we had housekeeping twice a day. I found housekeeping to have the best timing. Rooms were done by the time we got back from breakfast, and in the evening fresh towels would be brought to us, and bed redone by the time we got back from dinner. Our housekeeping man went above and beyond. Amazing service AAA+ We booked our stay with full board, meaning breakfast, lunch and dinner was provided, as well as snacks and drinks. This meant eating a buffet meal 3 times a day which was way too much food. The only thing I would pick on would be the fact that there was no cappaccino type coffee, and with the amount of money we paid to stayed here, I would expet a coffee machine somewhere on the establishment. Overall a fantastic 5 day getaway for us. Loved it.

We stayed in the water bungalow and the view is amazing. Staff are very nice and polite. the chefs in the restaurant are very friendly and accommodating. We received a bottle of wine and fruit basket for our honeymoon. The tried the guided snorkelling and our instructor is very patient to us, specially to me because i'm not a swimmer but he managed to show us the beautiful fishes and corals. Thank you for making our stay memorable.

I love everything about this resort.. It's heaven on earth! The staff were very friendly also.. Jo & Niyaz from the restaurant near the pool are very friendly and entertaining! The day & night snorkelling is a must! It's a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget! Thanks Ellaidhoo and thanks to the staff! :)
Fantastic stay - great for snorkelling”
We had a fantastic stay at Ellaidhoo. A big thanks to Ali and the rest of the staff for all their help during our stay. The resort was not too crowded, food was good and the surroundings perfect. The view from our Water Bungalow (room 412) was splendid. From the water bungalow we could see numerous fish swimming around. We also went snorkelling right outside the beach area a couple of times, and spotted among others a big sea turtle, a moray eel and a number of small sharks. A great choice wether you'd like to stay on the beach or you prefer to go snorkling (if you want to go diving they also have a diving center on the island). If we could we would have extend our stay by a couple of days but unfortunately all rooms at the resort were fully booked already. Had a nice flight back to the airport, would recommend taking a plane rather than going by boat as the distance was a bit far. Either way, thanks again and hope we get the chance to come back in the future!
Must make sure that all the fine print is read. I could not find anywhere when I made the booking that you are charged $240US per head for the speed boat transfer. Not having been to a place like this before, I booked bed and breakfast, not realising that there are no other places to eat than the resort, and anything other than the very good buffet is expensive, so make sure that you take up the option of breakfast, lunch and dinner. More importantly, make sure your flight to Male, arrives by lunch time because you may not make it to the resort, then like me you will have to stay in a hotel on Male for the night. I had Ellaidhoo make my hotel booking and transfer from the airport, the accommodation I received that night was just ordinary having to get 3 people to my room to try and get an internet connection, in the end they called someone out. All in all I have done this once and probably not do again.

Once again, we thank you for choosing Ellaidhoo Maldives by Cinnamon as your holiday destination. it has been a privilege serving you. We wish you good luck and all the very best.
Prepare to suffer and enjoy at the same time”
Cons: The communication was aweful so we almost lost an entire day waiting at the airport for the transfer to the island. After several emails and phone calls (two weeks prior to our arrival!!) they said they'd pick us up at 3 pm while we ended up leaving around 5pm as we had to wait for other passengers. Once in the hotel they said they gave our room to someone else as we were not there!! So they sent us somewhere else and offered an upgrade. The return to the airport was a nightmare as they said the seaplane would be around 10am. (Our flight was 3pm) but we left the hotel at noon and picked up some other passengers in other resorts... We got super late to the airport but we finally got on the airplane. Pros: To make up for giving our room to someone else they upgraded us to all inclusive so we were utterly spoiled while being there with massages and good food, alcohol. The place is breathtaking and there is no way not to enjoy having this amazing view and weather.

Good value in the Maldives”
Food is as good as in other four star resorts. Staff us super friendly and snorkeling is really convenient and easy. We got downgraded the first night but handsomely compensated. The resort is slightly dated and maintenance is needed here and there. However water bungalows are half the price of other resorts so excellent value. We are very pleased.
It was a pleasant stay at Chaaya Reef. Hotel grounds and food was ok. Not to big nor crowded. Food wise was a hit and miss as some dishes was being served again and again. Limited choice in their buffet spread. They will also make you go for optional meals at an additional cost which seems not very worth it. And what they do is to ask you daily. The good thing i can think of is the water villa with nice views and sunset. Fishes and sharks that swims past your villa daily. We had room 410 with was fantastic! Would like to mention Mr Ali from the reception too. Very assurance and informative service staff! Keep up the good work. Probably will stay in another resort to experience the exclusive feeling of Male.
Good vacation holiday without breaking the bank”
Our stay was pretty delightful, we took the seaplane in and excellent to take photos of the surrounding islands. We only had one stop to drop off passengers and we were the only ones to go to our final destination. We land near a platform near the island and a boat picks you up. You a greeted by your gracious host, ours was very nice and helpful, she even sent fruit, chocolate and wine to our room. We got to our water bungalow and we had the one facing the ocean only. The water bungalow was nice, the mini bar was cheaper than the reg. bar. They don’t have room service, although my wife convinced them to bring some food to our bungalow…so nice of them. The door to the shower was broken and was a bit hazardous if you open the door while you have the sliding doors open to the ocean. The only thing I though could be better was a bigger patio/deck with maybe a hammock style bed hanging over the ocean. Our view was pretty awesome still in the morning you could see baby sharks swimming near the bungalow. We did some snorkeling and it was awesome as I never been before, we did a bit of the Kayak around the island. We stayed for 3 nights, but it felt longer. The food at the restaurant wasn’t all that great to me and a bit pricey to boot. The bars were good and again a bit pricey. We did love laying out on the beach during the night as the clear sky was wondrous, beautiful, spectacular. The spa was excellent, we got massages and we felt great afterwards. Make sure you bring mosquito repellant as the mosquitos bites on some people looked awful, I didn’t get bit as bad, my wife had a few bumps. Overall, I can say that we enjoyed our holiday, it didn’t break us at the bank. We would definitely try other hotels in the Maldives island chains as we saw some pretty awesome bungalows.
A very enjoyable holiday”
We will highly recommend taking the sea plane, the views were spectacular. We did see some guests arriving by speedboat and were very sea sick, so glad we did not need to go through that. The staff at the restaurant and reception were superb and very friendly. Hello to our friends Ali and Shanoof! They always made the meals more enjoyable. I loved that the chef also remembered how much I like their pancakes and always prepared one for me for breakfast. The staff who brought us out on excursions were also excellent, thanks to them we managed to catch some good fish at the sunset fishing trip. However, we must say that the cleaning staff for our water bungalow was bad. Unless we were in our room when they came to clean, the sheets and towels would not be changed. The staff also won't sweep the floors unless we were in our room and instructed him to do so. I think this was our main disappointment regarding the staff. Being half board, we also had a flexible afternoon to have lunch whenever we wanted, when the tide was favourable, we spent more time snorkeling and had a late lunch instead. We also really enjoyed being able to try different items on the bar menu, the Chaaya burger was the best. The dive shop was also very informative, however, be advised to look carefully at the dates of the excursions which you sign up for. My husband and I signed up for the Manta ray snorkeling only to realize that the trip was scheduled only for that weekend. We also experienced some choppy waters, some days we could not snorkel because the current was too strong. But other than the days with strong currents, the waters were great for snorkeling. We did not see any dolphins or turtles though, and some of the excursion staff attributed it to the strong currents. We highly recommend doing the sunset fishing and the desserted island trips, extremely worthwhile! I would love to go back one day if the rooms could be kept cleaner.
Perfect place for relaxation ”
Our stay was amazing. The food was all quite good, the staff were very friendly and attentive and the pool was perfect. We stayed in a water hut and it was absolutely gorgeous. Would highly recommend staying there as it's definitely worth it- for the views and the spacious room. The only downside was the slow, not free wifi that didn't work well at all.
Snorklers Dream ”
We stayed there for 7 days, it went far too fast for our liking , booked a beach villa perfect location you can walk round the island in ten minutes but yet it feels much bigger and totally relaxing atmospher, this is not a five star resort nor would you want it to be, I would class this resort as Rustic with charm , perhaps some slight decorating required but not a deal breaker, snorking fantastic with turtles, eels sharks and Manta's came to visit, would we go back...yes in a heart beat....
Outstanding resort at very reasonable rates”
The bungalows were reasonably priced compared to other resorts. You also were entitled to dine at the pool side restaurant which has a much nicer ambiance and view of the sea and sunset. By going inclusive you don't worry about how much you are spending for meals. The cuisine was international fare catering to different tastes. The vegetables and salads were fresh; the grilled options were simple but excellent. Other prepared dishes were in warmers but of course can't compare to the entrees off the grill. The dive center was well organized and instructors as well as the rest of the dive staff attentive. The resort is a close to incredibly beautiful reefs for different level divers. Booked a promotional spa package for a couple. The treatments were excellent that we upgraded to a higher package. The Indonesian masseuses were exceptional, very sweet and hospitable. The environment was casual and not pretentious. Men weren't required to wear long pants for dining but nice casual wear was appropriate.
I had an enjoyable stay. Scuba diving and snorkling was great. Initially were given a bungalow close to the pool. it was noisy as well as less view of the sea. They changed it to a beach bungalow and it was great.
Great resort, way above 3star”
We were lucky to get a great beach house with good beach in front. Don't be fooled with the pictures - the big house on the beach is the diving center, not your beach bungalows. The food was fine for a week, lots of Indian influence. The reef is amazing, great amount of sharks, mantas, turtles, big swarms of fish, tuna... Very relaxed atmosphere, not posh. Wifi only at the reception.
Nice hotel good facilities ”
First and most important of you care most about diving and snorkeling this is the place for you The water bungalows are not as nice as in other resorts mostly cause you don't get acces to the sea from the room but other then that we had great time Also worth mention is the great diving center crew who really walk the extra mile
the last evening, 1000's of colourful fish had gathered at the western coral gardens to bid me good-bye. it is a fabulous snorkelling memory. i added about 25 new species of tropical fish to my 'life-list'. a school of 9 eagle spotted rays regularly "flew" by. the only lack was a really good beach. the breakwaters distract from the island ambience too. however overall it was a very good experience. this is my 11th maldivian hotel in 6 visits to the country.
