“The location is very good, very new and very clean.”

Prime location, just a minute from Gora Station, down the tunnel! The self-service breakfast is simple yet exquisite, with not many options but very tasty, and the environment is relaxing. The twin room is very spacious, and there is a public indoor hot spring that can only accommodate 6 people at a time; they have a thoughtful arrangement with a sign indicating how many people are inside, so I basically had it to myself, which was very nice! The hostel is very new, and the beds are very comfortable! In the morning, you can quickly head to Owakudani to avoid the crowds and skip the lines. After checking out, you can leave your luggage for convenience in exploring again the next day. It's cleaner and more comfortable than old hotels, definitely worth a return visit~ *I suggest not bringing luggage to Hakone, as there are too many ups and downs; use a delivery service or leave luggage in the city.

    “Comfortable dormitory”

I visited Gora for the first time on a solo trip. The hotel staff, as well as the guests, were all very nice, and most of the guests were from overseas. Being a hot spring area, the hotel's baths and the water quality were excellent and smooth. The dormitory was comfortable in terms of size and cleanliness. I would like to use it again.

    “I recommend it!”

On January 11th and 12th, four adults stayed at the hotel. Since we made the reservation last minute, there was only a room with bunk beds available, which made us a bit hesitant, but we decided to stay. It is really close to Gora Station (just exit the station, walk right through a small underground passage, and it’s right in front of you. It takes about 2 minutes). There is a free shuttle bus to the Pola Museum in front of the hotel. The Hakone Open-Air Museum is also about a 15-minute walk away (you can also go by train). You can take the cable car from Gora Station, so the location is very good! The hotel seems to have renovated an existing facility, and the room was very clean. There was a bathroom and toilet in the room, so I didn't feel any inconvenience at all. The amenities included a toothbrush set, cotton swabs and cotton, shampoo, conditioner, body soap (cleansing is available in the public bath), bath towels, regular towels, a hairdryer, a refrigerator (no complimentary water), a kettle (coffee, tea, and herbal tea are complimentary), a security box, hangers, slippers (not disposable), a TV, a table, a sofa, and chairs. There were also several types of paid snacks available. I requested a phone charging cable and a shaving razor at the front desk, and they provided them. The breakfast was buffet-style with a wide variety of choices, and it was all very delicious, not the usual menu. It was good that they quickly replenished items once they ran out! I did not use the dinner service (I used a nearby restaurant, but they closed early), but I did have pistachio gelato and chocolate terrine with milk ice cream from the hotel restaurant as an evening café, both were rich in flavor and truly delicious! On the way to the public bath, there were free small ciders (one per person) and ice cream available. If I had to mention something that could be improved, it would be that the comforter was thin (the pillows were fluffy and the mattress firmness was just right), the floor of the hot spring changing area was quite wet, there were a lot of hair strands on the floor, and the sink was dirty (perhaps international guests may not be familiar with how to use the hot spring? I think it's also a users’ issue). However, the accommodation fee, service, staff response, and location were all as good as evaluated, offering great value for money! Both the front desk staff (who helped us with our plan changes when the ropeway was stopped due to strong winds) and the restaurant staff were very pleasant, and I had a comfortable stay and was extremely satisfied. If I have the opportunity to visit Hakone again, I would like to stay in a different room and definitely use the dinner service!

    “That's great!”

It was a comfortable stay, except that I had to walk a bit to the nearest convenience store and that the bathroom and toilet were shared. The bath can accommodate six people, but I was lucky to have it to myself on both days of my stay.

“Hot springs, close to the station, clean, great meals, wonderful.”

Since I was traveling alone, I chose this place with a focus on affordability, and I was very satisfied. The hot spring, proximity to the station, cleanliness, and meals were all wonderful, and the staff were bright and polite in their responses. One drawback was that I requested a cheap room and selected a dormitory with bunk beds, but it was mixed gender. I wanted to change to a separate room, but it was fully booked, so I had to endure it (laughs). Fortunately, nothing happened, but next time I would like to avoid mixed gender rooms and choose a private room instead.
